Chapter Text
“Alright everyone, I have something for you”
Es stated as they dropped a heavy box on the kitchen table. The prisoners walked over curiously as Es kept talking.
“I can’t allow much since this is a prison but I ended up finding some stuff for you all.”
Es explained as they opened the box. Various items were in there, board games, cards, movie discs and at the very bottom manga.
Yuno and Mahiru were the first to run up, pulling everything out and placing it on the table as the other came over curiously. All the prisoners looked over the new stuff, all except one.
Fuuta scowled as he looked at everyone looking at disks and cards like they were a brand new invention. This was idiotic! They were stuck in this random prison, isolated from the world in every way! This was awful and everyone was just smiling and giggling. Mahiru looked over at Fuuta and gave a stupid smile as she held up some cards.
“Fuuta! Wanna play games with us?”
“Hell no!”
Fuuta spat out, crossing his arms as the others were caught off guard by his harsh tone.
“You all have the nerve to just laugh and play! How can you be so calm?!”
Fuuta yelled, snatching a random deck of cards and throwing it behind him. Shidou frowned as he walked over, gently picking up the cards and dusting them off.
“There simply isn’t much we can do Fuuta, let’s just try to enjoy what we can alright?”
Shidou responded calmly which only made Fuuta more furious. Enjoy what we can? Was everyone stupid?! Fuutas jaw clenched and his nails made marks in his palms. As he was about to call out everyone on how stupid they were being, a sharp pain hit his shoulder.
Fuuta hissed as he held his arm, looking down and seeing what caused the damage was some random manga from the box. Glaring up he saw Es holding another manga in their hand.
“I won’t hesitate to throw another if you keep acting like this Prisoner three.”
Fuuta let out an annoyed snarl as he kicked the book under a chair, a thud going through the room as it slammed into the wall.
“Fuck all of this! All of you are idiots!”
Fuuta yelled, stomping out of the room and slamming the door behind him. Why would he waste his time hanging out with those murderers anyways?!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Days had passed since the whole fiasco and Fuuta was still being stubborn. He would scowl at anyone who invited him to play board games and rolled his eyes when he overheard Shidou and Kazui talking about the new books they picked. He couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that everyone was so calm!
He stomped into a room, walking in on Mikoto shuffling a deck of cards. His eyes widen when he saw Fuuta, holding his cards up as he smiled.
“Hey Fuuta-!”
“No I don’t want to play cards with you.”
“Oh these aren’t playing cards! They tarot cards!”
Mikotos smile didn’t falter even after Fuuta cut him off, running up towards him and showing off the cards.
“They can help you make decisions and can even tell the future!”
“Cards…can predict the future?”
Fuuta asked, raising a brow as he looked at cards. Mikoto nodded enthusiastically, still shuffling the cards as he spoke.
“Mhm! They’re honestly fantastic!”
“The fact you believe that is-“
“No one’s business but his.”
Fuuta stiffened as he heard the familiar voice of the warden. Looking over he saw Es behind him, holding a small box in his hands. Mikoto waved at the warden happily, getting a small nod in return.
“Anyways I’m going to see if anyone wants a tarot reading! Bye!”
Mikoto smiled as he ran into the cafeteria. Fuuta rolled his eyes before looking the warden up and down with a frown.
“What’s in the box?”
“Some more stuff for you all.”
Es started as he opened the box, showing a variety of small toys and games. Fuutas jaw tightened again as he felt anger bubble up. This damn warden is treating them like kids!
“Listen we don’t need your stupid toys okay? This place is already shitty enough as is and we don’t need some kid throwing childhoods junk at us!”
Fuuta hissed as he bent down to Es eye level. Es’s eyes narrowed before kicking him shin. Fuuta let out a a strangled groan as he bent down and grabbed his shin close. Looking up, Fuuta sees Es slam the box on the table and started walking out of the room.
“Well you’re going to be here for a while, so get used it.”
Es hissed out as he grabbed the door handle.
“And make sure to give the box to everyone else. I’m sure they’d have a better attitude about it than you .”
And with that Es slammed the door behind them. Fuuta let out a flurry of curse as he stood up again, dusting himself off and reaching for the box only for it to fall on the floor, its insides scattering everywhere. Now even more pissed he picked up all the toys, throwing them in the box. He mumbled insults towards the warden and his fellow prisoners as he reached under a chair to get some stupid Rubik’s cube.
Reaching over, his finger tips grazed over something else. Confused, Fuuta looked down to see it was the manga he kicked a couple days ago. He frowned as he grabbed it and looked at it, two guys with their backs pressed against each other as two avatars floated around them. Reading the back all Fuuta could get out of it was that two gamers guys befriend each other online but hate each other in real life and the hijinks that ensued. Fuck it he had nothing better to do.
Putting the Rubik’s cube back in the box, he walked off with the book in his hands. Now alone in his room he sat up as he picked up the book and started reading. Now in retrospect there were a couple of signs that something was amiss, from the way the two male leads were always so close in the others face to how there were panels dedicated to how one of the lead towered over the other but they all flew over Fuutas head as he mindlessly read through. That was until he flipped a page to see the taller lead pinning the other one to the wall and pressed a heated kiss on the others mouth.
“What the fuck?!”
Fuuta thought, jumping as he saw the scene. The book fell from his hands and hit the floor with a thud, making the silence even more deafening. No way! What the hell was that?! Fuuta didnt sign up for this shit! He groaned as he stood up and kicked the book under his bed. Fucking disgusting, what a waste of time. Now he felt his mood worsen even more. Whatever, he’ll just eat dinner and then sleep the rest of the day away.
Except he couldn’t. At dinner his foot tapped rapidly, if asked he’d chalk it just up to annoyance but deep down, he knew what it was.
You see Fuuta, whether he wanted to admit it or not, had gotten invested in the manga. He wanted to know what’d happen next! That kiss would’ve changed their dynamic for sure! Both online and offline there’d be consequences he just had to see! He mentally theorized what’d happened between them. Though apparently all his “deep thinking” showed on his face as Yuno stared at him confused.
“Whatcha thinking about Fuuta?”
Yuno asked, glancing at him as she poked his cheek with the end of her fork. Fuutas face burned as he realized he’d been caught.
“None of your damn business!”
He spat out as he finished his food and left. Yuno raised a brow but shrugged as she kept eating.
“What a drama queen.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fuuta looked around nervously, making sure everyone was sleep as he shut his door and locked it. Bending down cautiously, he gently picked up the book like it was a bomb. Staring at it nervously, his palms started to sweat. Was he actually gonna do this? He’d called people gross before online for enjoying this and here he was, being a giant hypocrite.
“Maybe those fujoshis were onto something….”
Fuuta thought to himself as he sat on the bed, before his expression turned to one of horror. What happened to him?! He blamed it on the prison, it had driven him mad. His hands shook as he flipped past the panel from before and kept reading. His self loathing was pushed back as he read through it, feeling a sense of pride as he realized his theories were right.
The end of manga came far too soon for Fuutas taste. He frowned as he quickly snuck out of his room, searching everywhere for where the rest of the prisoners put the books. Why couldn’t they just leave it in the box? Thankfully he found them in a cabinet all stacked nice and neat.
“
Jackpot”
Fuuta smirked as he pressed the stack of books to his chest and quickly crept back to his room. With how heavily his heart was pounding you’d think he was on some sort of secret mission bringing back government secrets.
But no, it was just yaoi.
Fuuta quickly scuttered back into his room. Gently locking the door behind him, he placed his mangas on the floor and smiled proudly at his treasure. Sitting against his door, he grabbed the second book and read contently.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The problem with the prison having no windows is that you end up loosing your ability to tell the time. Which is why when Fuuta got a knock on his door, he felt his heart leap out of his chest. He quickly shoved his shame under his bed as he fixed up his appearance and opened to see the warden was outside, holding a tray of today’s breakfast in their hands.
“Hello Fuuta, the rest of the prisoners were worried when you didn’t come for breakfast.”
Es asked as he handed the tray to Fuuta who blinked as he looked down at the food in a daze. Had time gone by so fast?
“Is everything alright? You look awfully tired.”
Fuuta snapped out of his daze and nodded, quickly putting the food on his bedside table.
“Yeah yeah, just…..couldn’t sleep.”
“Well you can rest after you eat, feel better soon.”
Es said with a polite nod as he shut the door behind him. Fuuta blinked once more, looking at the food and the corner of the manga peaking out from under his bed. He had just spent the entire night willingly reading BL. He stared at his reflection from the tray in horror.
Holy shit he was a fudanshi.
