"This is your genin team Shikamaru! Their original sensei was injured in an attack so they need a new one! And Tsunade-sama thought you were the best replacement!" Shikamaru stood there wearing an over-sized shirt and boxers, dazed at the sudden intrusion in his house while Shizune stood there with a malicious grin and three children standing beside her looking up at him with their beady little eyes. "What?" Shizune pushed the three kids into the house and sat them in his living room "Go change, Tsunade expects you to get to know them and do a small training session today with them!"before Shikamaru could say anything Shizune Shun-shined away."WHAT!? NO GET BACK HERE!" Shikamaru tried to reach for her but she had already left.
He turned around to face the children, he recognized these three... they used to follow ...... before he went rogue. 'Especially the one with the scarf, who was he again. Oh the third hokage's grandson; Konohamaru Sarutobi. troublesome. What did i do to deserve this?' He left them sitting there and by the time he came back in his more casual ninja attire, the three children had started bickering about something along the lines of who gets to introduce themselves to Shikamaru first but when they saw him come back they shut up the smallest with glasses looked off to the side as mucus ran down his nose, the girl looked at Shikamaru head on determined while Konohamaru just yawned.
'Wow... I just might be realizing how Asuma felt when he met us... damn now's not the time' Shikamaru sighed and motioned for the three of them to follow. The girl ran right after him while the boys followed at a slower pace. The girl started to introduce herself "HI! My name is Moegi Kazamatsuri! It's nice to meet you sensei" Shikamaru nodded and continued on their path. The girl looked at him confused at his dismissive attitude and slightly slowed down.
by the time they made it to the training grounds, there was multiple Shinobi there training. "...Everything's been so tense recently" The boy with the glasses said in passing before sitting on the grass in front of Shikamaru as the rest of his team followed. "What a drag...My name is Shikamaru Nara. I guess I'll be your sensei for...a while." The girl perked up, "Nice to meet you! In case you didn't hear me, my names Moegi Kazamatsuri" "Udon Ise" "You know who i am" Moegi gasped "Konohamaru! Be nice!" Shikamaru stared at him blankly. Before regaining his composure "hm i guess you're right,uhm..." 'what do I even say. I don't talk... to children'
"Tell me about yourselves and your Chakra nature... did you're old sensei evaluate you?" The three kids nodded, Shikamaru lays down next to them shocking them, he glances at Udon "You first." Udon wipes his nose on his sleeves before starting "Uhm My chakra nature is water and Uhm I like a lot of stuff!" Shikamaru nods and then Moegi starts up "My Chakra nature is Earth! and I like dango and uhm a bunch of other stuff like my friends oh trying new things with my hair since my mom always put these two pigtails in my hair all the time! She gets mad when I take them down though." She was so excited that she stumbles over her words in some parts. Shikamaru looked at Konohamaru who just sat there. Just staring. Right at Shikamaru. Sorta freaky. "Are you going to say anything?" Konohamaru huffed and looked away "I don't have to say anything to you!" Shikamaru groaned "So troublesome. come on you gotta give me something so I can train you while your sensei is out of commission! I don't like this just as much as you but help me, help you, help us." Konohamaru sighed "I like uhm training, playing with my friends, ramen and chocolate covered bananas. Not together though!" Shikamaru chuckled at his rush to make the way he eats it apparent "And my chakra nature is Fire."
'Good, good, I think we'll all get along nicely for the time that we have' They continued to stare at him as he started getting loss in thought and started to mumble, "what would Ino do...what would Choji do...what would Naruto do?"... "Would you three like to go get food? We can go get Ichiraku ramen he has pretty much everything." Konohamaru lit up, Udon smiled while snot dripped down his nose again and Moegi nodded excitedly. And off they went, Udon staying close by Shikamaru while Konohamaru ran ahead Moegi struggling to catch up with him but trying her best.

Tsunade sighed but grinned in delight "They're having a bit of a rocky start but I think they'll be fine don't you think" Kurenai nodded as she held Mirai, "Well Tsunade-sama, I think you chose the right group for Shikamaru-kun. Ever since Asuma's death and Naruto going rogue to find Sasuke, he's been down in the dumps but I think those three will remind him of what it's like to live again." Tsunade smiled "I hope so Kurenai, I hope so but for the meantime I have a mission for you, if you feel alright to go on it" Kurenai nodded "Always"
