Chapter 1: Why didn't the wizard warn me?
Chapter Text
“What do you mean that I can’t stay here?” Peter yelled angrily at Doctor Strange. It had been 2 years since Strange had casted the spell to make everyone forget him. Even though Peter had lost everything and everyone he cared for, he had just started to get used to his new life. Now all the progress he had made was being thrown down the gutter.
“I mean that the universe is forgetting you. It’s tearing apart at the seams due to you living here. I had noticed that something was wrong in the lists of spells I had done since I became Sorcerer Supreme again.” Strange floated over to a book on the nearby shelf and opened it.
“Listen kid-Not a kid- doesn’t matter. I need to send you to a universe that doesn’t have a version of you, because your existence is damaging.“ Strange gets into Peter’s face. Peter backs away and stammers out,
“What.” His breath started to get louder as he repeated himself.
“Now that you’re done arguing with me, we need to move up to the roof to perform the new spell.” Strange opened one of his portals and walked through to the rooftop. As Peter followed, the reality of the situation finally caught up with him.
‘This is really the end. I can’t even say goodbye to Ben and May’s graves.’ Strange starts to draw a symbol in chalk and tells Peter to stand in the middle. As he does so, Strange tells him to not move or speak when he starts the spell.
“Any final words you would like to say?”
“Yeah. Wish me luck in whatever awaits me.” Strange nods and starts to read out the spell from his book. As he chants the last words, Peter’s vision goes dark and his spidey senses go off all around him. It felt as if he was falling. When he finally got his senses back, he looked for anything that was familiar. He caught the sight of his reflection in a puddle on the ground.
“What? Why do I look younger?” He was glad that when he went to meet with Strange, he had grabbed his suit and the glasses Tony had left for him. He no longer could use any of the suits that needed facial or vocal recognition, but he was able to hack his way into Edith and Karen.
“Hey Edith, how old am I?” The AI responded back to him with the answer of 15. He then asked if there were any messages for him.
“Mr. Parker, there are 2 messages for you. Would you like me to play them?”
“Yeah.”
“Hey kid. If you’re listening to this, that means that something went wrong during the second snap and-” Peter froze at the sound of his mentor. He hadn’t listened to this message since Tony had died(he didn’t know if it was due to his hacking making all the recorded messages delete themselves or because he didn’t want to face the reality of losing someone he saw as a father figure).
“Edith, please skip this one.” The AI moved on to the next message which was from Strange of all people.
“Peter, I sent you to a version of our reality where everything is almost identical. You should be able to stay in this reality, if not go to their version of me. Otherwise, don’t contact anyone who might have known you.” Peter didn’t know how he was able to send a message across universes, but who was he to question magic.
“Guess I should find some place to stay tonight.” Peter looked up to the setting sun. It looked similar to the one from his universe but the sky looked cleaner.
“Edith, can you find some nearby abandoned buildings? Also, what’s in the news today.” Peter slid his web shooters on(even though they were mainly for show now that he had the ability to shoot webs from his wrists naturally). He could remember how the last time he used them was right after the spell was casted. It turned out that all he needed to do was be in so much emotional pain that it felt like he was going to die to be able to produce his own webs. May’s death had hit him harder than he ever thought it would.
“There is an abandoned building 1 mile away and the most recent news is that Stark Tower is accepting tour groups again.”
‘What? They haven’t done tours since Tony died. I have to get access to the internet.’ Peter took off the glasses and pulled on his Spider-Man mask. He proceeded to swing to the abandoned building, following the instructions that Karen was telling him. She was way sassier compared to Edith. It almost made him wish that he could go see his old friends and family. He reminded himself of the message from Strange as soon as he got the feeling of being homesick.
“Peter the building is on your left.” Karen broke Peter out of his thoughts. He searched from the ground for an open window that he could enter through. In the distance he could hear the familiar sound of repulsors getting closer and closer to the building. He climbed up the wall to a shattered window he spotted and collapsed to his knees once inside.
“Listen Pep. I don’t know what was triggering the attack alarms. There is nobody here.” That’s Tony. How is that Tony? Peter swore that if this was another sick trick of Beck’s, he wouldn’t show him mercy.
“Tony?” Peter murmured, almost giving away his position. He covered his mouth as soon as he heard Tony asking FRIDAY to scan the area for heat signatures.
‘No, he heard me. This is bad, this is real bad. Strange gave me one instruction and I couldn’t follow it.’ Hot tears run down his face as he tries to stay quiet.
“Who's there? You know I can see your heat signature.”
Chapter 2: Panic Attacks and a Father Figure
Chapter Text
Peter was panicking. To be fair to him, it’s not everyday that the mentor that died right in front of you turns out to be alive in an alternate universe and is stalking around an abandoned building after you.
“Whoever you are, you need to come here. I won’t hurt you unless I have to.” Tony called out as he moved closer to the shattered window. Peter’s hands were starting to loosen from the wall. His body shook as Tony climbed through the window. Peter wanted to run, but something was stopping him.
“Peter, your heart rate is getting dangerously high, would you like me to contact someone?” Karen asked. It was at this moment that Peter was glad that you couldn’t hear her from outside the suit. He couldn’t respond back to Karen, Tony was right next to him and would definitely hear him respond. Everything felt slow leading up to Tony spotting him, like someone had decreased the speed by 10%.
“Mr-Mr Stark” Peter’s voice was shaky and his breath heavy. Tony’s eyes widened then softened.
“Pete? Bambino!” Tony moved quickly to the kid he saw as a son. He tore the mask off of Peter and pulled his kid into him. Peter tried to pull away, still under the impression that he was an illusion. The only thing that was going through Tony’s mind was,
‘How is he alive? He died in my arms 2 months ago.’ Peter’s breath was faster than it should have been.
“Who- who are you? I know that you’re- you’re not him. He’s dead. Tony died.” This confused Tony and he couldn’t hide it. Peter tries to climb up the wall to get away, but Tony was holding onto him too tight.
“Pete, what do you mean? I didn’t die, you did.”
“No no no NO! I saw you die, I saw you die.” Peter whispered the second time. It hit him that in this universe Tony might have lived and he might have died. There was still a chance that everything that was happening was an illusion made by Beck but it was slim. Peter started to cry and Tony pulled him closer.
“Shh Bambino. It’s okay. I’ve got you, I’ve got you.” Tony moved his hand up to the side of his mask and called out to his AI.
“Fri, I need you to tell the med team to be on standby and also notify Pep of our situation. We’ll be there in about 20 minutes.” Tony lifted Peter up as he stood, not commenting on how light the boy was. As soon as Peter wasn’t holding himself up, all of his muscles loosened and he went limp. Peter was still awake but he was tired and acting like his bones are solid was taking way too much energy. Sometimes he hated the powers that the spider gave him. Some of the traits he ended up being cursed with really sucked at times, and now was one of those times. Peter scared Tony so much by letting his bones act like jello that Tony started to move even faster than he already was.
“Kid, I need you to stay awake. Friday, please tell me that the med-bay is prepped!” Tony’s voice was showing his panic.
“Call from Pepper incoming. Would you like me to answer it?” Friday asked, not answering Tony’s previous question. Tony quickly said yes, knowing that if he didn’t he would be sleeping on the couch tonight.
“Tones, why did I just find out from Friday that our son is alive and that you’re bringing him to the tower?”
“Because I just found him inside an abandoned apartment building. Pep, I’m almost to the tower. Can you open the door to the balcony? Peter is going limp in my arms and looks like he’s seconds from passing out.” Pepper ran from where she was to open the door just as Tony landed. Tony ran to the staircase that led to the floor the Avengers would stay on. The med-bay was on the same floor but was separated from the main living space. Tony was lucky that none of the Avengers were in the tower right now, because they would probably try to stop him with questions.
“Mr. Stark, you can set him down here.” The doctor called out, bringing Tony out of his thoughts. He quickly set Peter down on the medical cot. He could hear Pepper pacing outside the room, it sounded like she was calling someone but Tony couldn’t stay focused on her long enough to decipher her words.
“Mr. Stark, I am going to ask you to leave the room. One of my nurses will keep you updated on his condition.” The doctor gave him a look to tell him to get out. Tony walked out of the room to see the team that he had learned to call his family.
“Tony, what’s going on? Pepper and Friday called all of us here but they didn’t give us much of an explanation.” Steve was the first to speak up like always. Tony realized that they must have been who Pepper was calling, he didn’t think he was in there long enough for all of them to get to the tower that quickly.
“I found Peter.” That statement got him a lot of replies of Peter being dead. Tony cut them off and told them,
“I don’t know how but a version of Peter showed up in an abandoned building and Friday had tracked him there. When I found him he was crying about how I died. I don’t think he’s our Peter, but I think he’s a version of ours.”
“Has someone contacted Strange about this? This feels like it’s right up his alley.” Clint commented, causing Pepper to tell them how she tried but he didn’t answer. She had left a voicemail but she didn’t know when he would get back to her. While Tony explained the situation, Pepper was talking to one of the nurses.
“Tony, he’s awake. Only me and you can go in right now.”

Chapter Text
Peter’s breath was heavy. He didn’t remember falling asleep, nor did he remember being in the tower. His mind was foggy and he didn’t know what had happened. Peter’s memories slowly but surely came back to him. He realized that he needed to get out of the room. Strange had told him that he couldn’t interact with the people that he had known, but he managed to fail that one command. Peter was so lost in his thoughts that he didn’t notice Tony and Pepper walking into the room.
“Pete, bambino? How are you feeling?” Tony asked, his softening at the sight of his kid. Pepper didn’t look much different from her husband. The only difference was that she was fidgeting with her wedding ring.
“Better, I guess.” Peter mumbled, his head facing his lap to avoid looking at the 2 adults.
“Can I come closer? Oh bud, we’ve missed you.” Peter wanted to hug his mentor, but he knew that this Tony wasn’t his. He tried to ignore the warmth in his chest from the nicknames. There was a lot going through Peter’s head that he would have to deal with, but for right now he could enjoy being around people who knew who he was.
“I know that this is going to interrupt this sweet moment, but we need to talk about what happened. Peter, sweetie, can you explain what’s going on?” Pepper cut in. Peter knew this would happen, but that didn’t mean he didn’t dread the moment the topic came up.
“Um, I guess I’ll start at the beginning. First of all, I’m from a universe where Mr. Stark snapped during the second fight with Thanos. I guess the story starts a year after that battle, Quentin Beck or Mysterio had convinced me that he was trying to help me. But when me and him went to London he turned against me and kept trying to kill me. He told everyone what my secret identity was and lied saying that I was trying to kill him. Which caused everyone to go after me and May. And out of pure desperation I went to Dr. Strange due to MJ and Ned not being able to go to MIT because of me. And- and-”
“Woah breathe sweetie.” Pepper said from beside Peter. He didn’t even realize that she had moved from the entrance of the room. Peter listened to her and took a minute to calm down before he started again.
“When I asked Dr. Strange for help he casted a spell that would make everyone forget that I was Spiderman, but I ended up asking for too many changes and the spell broke. After he contained the spell, me and him fought over it because me changing the spell caused everyone who knew Peter Parker in any universe to come to my universe. A lot happened including Strange trying to send people to their universes where they would die and Aunt May being killed by one of the people that Strange wanted to send back. It all ended with me telling Strange to cast a spell to make everyone forget that I ever existed.“
“What?” Peter could hear the anger in his mentor’s voice. Tony looked over to his kid and the look of fear plastered across Peter’s face didn’t fail to escape him. Tony’s eyes softened as he reassured Peter that it wasn’t him who Tony was mad at. Peter looked down at his hands in his lap and continued,
“5 years after everyone forgot who I was, Strange came looking for me. He told me that I was causing the universe to break and that I needed to be sent to another universe that didn’t have a Peter. So, I got sent here and you know the rest.” Now that pissed Tony off even more. How dare the wizard tell his kid that he was the cause of the universe falling apart. Tony moved himself as close to Peter as he could and pulled the teen into a tight hug.
“I swear that if I ever meet that version of Strange I am going to make him wish he was never alive.” The face that Peter made at this comment almost made Tony laugh.
“Um… Would it be okay if I let the other Avengers into the room?” The poor nurse asked. Peter could hear the chaos outside as he nodded. He had been unknowingly blocking out the sounds from outside the room while he was talking with his sudo-parents. He didn’t know what his relationships with them were like in this universe, but from what he could gather from his interactions with Pepper and Tony this version of him was close with the team. Maybe even closer than in his universe. Once the large group of people entered the room, Peter was hit with a strong sense of familiarity. Steve, Natasha, Bruce, Wanda, Rhodey, Clint, Vision, and Sam all entered the room in panicked motions. Peter did find it funny that they were fighting over who got to enter first. Natasha looked over to Tony and asked,
“Is it really him? Is he our маленький паук?” Tony nodded, causing the typically stone faced assassin to run and hug the brown haired teen. She started to mumble in Russian about how much she missed him. The rest of the team was shocked at the actions of the spy. Peter was happy to see his мама паук alive again. He buried his head in the side of her neck.

Chapter Text
Being back with the people he once called family was weird to say the least. Peter knew that they weren’t the same people that he knew back in his universe, but they were similar. The team apparently still hadn’t told any of Peter’s friends about him reappearing. Peter was still staying in the medbay because Tony was worried that he was still hurt. Various members of the team had been checking on him periodically throughout the week that he had been at the tower. Pepper, Natasha, and Loki were the worst about it. Peter didn’t count Tony, because the man had barely left the teen’s side. All of his wounds had already healed. Though it took longer than normal due to him eating way less than what he needed.
“Kid, I brought you some soup.” Tony walked over to the side of the bed and placed a tray on Peter’s lap. Peter lifted the spoon that the older man had placed on the side of the tray and looked up at Tony and asked,
“Did I have any friends in this universe? Other than MJ and Ned of course.” Tony looked upset at this question, but he still answered.
“Yeah, kid you did. You managed to befriend the princess of Wakanda before… Um before you passed.” Tony looked away from his kid. He couldn’t bring himself to tell the new version of Peter about the version that Tony grieved over for months, the version that he would grieve over for the rest of his life. Little did he know, the teen that sat in front of him was going through a similar pain. Peter had to grieve over everyone he had ever met due to mistakes that the adults around him had made and dumped on Peter. Peter still blamed himself for Tony and May’s deaths. He thought that he was the reason that Morgan Stark wouldn’t spend anymore time with her father, the reason why Pepper Potts-Stark wouldn’t have anyone to help her when she was having issues with Stark Industries, and the reason Happy Hogan lost the women that he loved. Maybe if he died when the alternate version of him did, he wouldn’t have caused so many deaths.
“-id? Kid! Kid, look at me and breathe.”
‘God, why do you have to be so useless?’ The voice in his head spit. ‘You just had to ruin everyone’s lives because of your stupid mistakes. You are a mistake.’ Peter clenched his hands around his forearms, digging his nails deep into his skin. He could hear Tony yelling for someone but he didn’t know who. Soft hands broke him out of his thoughts, the hands pulled his hands away from his arms and onto the thin hospital blanket. One of the hands moved to comb his hair back. Due to Peter being touch starved, he unwillingly leaned into the attention.
“Are you better now?” It was Pepper’s voice that called out to him. It was always nice when she visited Peter’s room. She liked to give hugs, comb her fingers through his thick, curly hair, and hold his hand when he would fall asleep. Even though he was 5 years younger now, his brain and mental state had stayed the same.
“Yeah, I guess I am.” Peter mumbled, leaning into Pepper’s shoulder. From inside his room he could hear some nurses rushing through the hallways, Thor yelling after Loki pulled a prank on him, and Clint shuffling around inside the ventilation shafts that Tony had someone build large enough to fit and hold a grown man in. There were other sounds in the tower, but they were farther away. The noise was sort of comforting to the teen. Some of the noise reminded Peter of when he would hang out with the vigilantes and anti-heroes of New York City. Wade, Matt, Frank, Eddie, and Venom. They would all go hang out at a bar called Sister Margaret's. Matt didn’t let Peter drink at the bar until he was 21, but Wade would sneak drinks to him when Matt wasn’t paying attention. It became a tradition that after patrols, all of the vigilantes and anti-heroes that were out would go to the bar and tell stories of what they saw. For them it was a form of therapy. Peter used to see them as his only family. Especially after Strange made everyone forget Peter. Back when May was alive, Peter would lie and tell her that he was going to hang out with Ned or MJ.
“Is… Is Aunt May still alive?” Tears started to roll down Peter’s face. The shock was clear on Pepper and Tony’s faces. They must’ve forgotten that May had died in Peter’s old universe. Pepper was the fastest to answer.
“She is. She moved after everything that happened though. If you want we could send a message to her telling her the situation.” Pepper placed her hand on Peter’s shoulder.
“Bambino, if you want we could contact all of your friends as well, and let them know that they can come see you if they want?” Tony offered, already starting to pull his phone out of his pocket. Peter nodded and answered with a ‘yes please’. A nurse walked into the room to tell the trio that Peter was healthy enough for him to stop staying in the med bay.

End of chapter 4: Call Your Friends and Aunt
Far away in a universe five years ahead, a man in a skin tight, red and black suit sat on a roof. He was waiting for a friend that wore a similar suit. The man was known as Wade Wilson or The Merc With A Mouth, Deadpool.
“Where are you, Spidey?” He questioned under his breath. He pulled a flip phone from one of the pouches on his belt and started to input a number to call. The phone rang once before someone picked up.
“Have you seen him yet?” Wade sounded worried. His voice had an unfamiliar sense of urgency.
“Not yet. I just checked with the others and no one has seen him since sunday’s morning patrol. I’m about to go check to see if one of the ex-avengers has seen him.” Matthew, Matt, Murdock or Daredevil replied with a similar tone of voice to the mercenary. Wade stood from his position on the roof and responded with,
“I’ll go see if the wizard has seen him. I’ll call if I find anything.” Wade shut the phone, without waiting for a response. He had a feeling that Dr. Strange had something to do with the disappearance of their spider. Wade could only hope that they didn’t find Spider-Man splattered on the floor of an alleyway.
“Strange, where is Spidey?” Wade held the man by his neck against a wall. “I know you did something to him. He told us that you had reached out to him.” Wade’s hand tightened around Stephen’s throat as Matt ran into the building.
“Deadpool, what the hell are you doing? You do know that this could get you arrested, right?” Matt pulled Wade away from the wizard, causing the man to drop to the ground. Wade tried to fight against Matt, but failed. Bloody tears fell from Wade’s eyes, coloring parts of his mask a darker shade of red. He didn’t want to hurt anyone, but he was scared. He was scared that the nicest person he’d ever met would end up being dead because Wade wasn’t able to save him. Wade could tell that Matt knew that. After all, Matt was probably feeling the same way. Matt had seen Spidey as a son and only wanted to make sure the kid was safe.
“I sent Spider-Man to another universe.” Strange spat out from his spot on the floor. He was rubbing his neck where Wade had held onto it.
“You did what?” Matt turned to the man, his voice deeper than Wade had ever heard from him. He was pissed. Don’t get Wade wrong, he was pissed as well. It’s just that someone had to be the one to hold the other back if things got too violent. THey had made this deal after Spidey had told them the story of why he was so alone. The kid had a tendency to drop small pieces of his life in casual conversation without realizing how traumatizing the things he went through were. Wade was still pissed about Tony Stark telling Peter that if he was nothing without his suit, then he shouldn’t have it.
“Daredevil. Don’t.” Wade warned. Matt turned to Wade at the serious tone of voice.
“Give me a good reason why I shouldn’t make him wish he was dead. He sent the kid to another universe.” Matt pointed to the man behind him. He wasn’t thinking straight, but Matt didn’t care. He wanted revenge.
—---------------------------
Peter was nervous. There was no doubt about it. He was about to see the people he was friends with in this universe. It wasn’t just them who he’d be seeing, he also was going to see his aunt again. Apparently, Tony hadn’t told them that Peter was back. He only told them that he had a surprise. Tony hadn’t even told Happy about Peter being in the building, and Happy was the head security guard. Peter was worried that May would react badly to him. He still felt guilty for everything that happened to her because of his actions. Apparently in this universe he didn’t date MJ. This version of him was fully gay instead of bi. It wasn’t that big of a change because he lost feelings for MJ after spending so long away from her.
“Bambino, are you ready?” Tony’s eyes softened as he brought Peter out of his thoughts. Peter nodded, letting Tony walk him out of the med-bay and into the shared living room.
“You’ll be staying in your room that’s on me and Pep’s floor, but this will have to do while you talk to your friends and aunt.” Tony’s arm was wrapped around Peter’s shoulders. His grip was tight but not uncomfortable. Peter didn’t have time to question why he had a room on the couple’s private floor. Natasha walked up to where Peter was sitting on the couch.
“Don’t worry маленький паук. I’m sure that if these friends are as amazing as the other version of said they were, everything is going to be fine.” Nat’s eyes didn’t look at him with pity, only care. Peter liked that, he liked that the eyes could tell you what a person really thought of you. It definitely made it easier for him to understand what people ment.
“I’m not worried about seeing my friends again. It’s more about seeing my aunt. I know that she’ll still care about me and everything. It’s just…” Peter took a deep breath in, “Last time I saw a version of Aunt May, she died in my arms. I can’t- I can’t go through that heartbreak again. мама паук, I can’t lose my family again.” Tears flowed from Peter’s eyes as Natasha moved in to hug him.
“Oh маленький паук. I’ll make sure you never do.” The two sat hugging on the couch for what felt like hours, but was only mere seconds.
—-----------------------------------------
“You need to send us to that universe. The kid needs us!” Wade argued. Strange had already told them that there was no version of them in that universe. Matt was messaging the other vigilantes about the situation while Wade threatened Strange.
—-----------
DD: Guys, we have found what happened to SM
E&V: Where is he? Are we going to be able to find him again?
DD: Eddie, Venom, He’s in another universe. Me and DP found out from Strange that he was sent to a universe.
P: What
P: Are we able to get him home?
DD: No, not from what the wizard is telling DP.
DD: The kid’s stuck there forever, but those of us who don’t have a counterpart in that universe can go stay there with the same rules as SM.
E&V: Who can go?
DP: All of us can but some of us should stay to protect NY
P: The other vigilantes and heroes can handle it, SM needs us.
—-------------
“Looks like we’re gonna have to pick up some people.” Wade pointed out that they would need the wizard to get everyone to the sanctum and Matt looked towards the wizard who was still pressed against the nearby wall. Matt walked over to Strange and told him to open a portal to the other vigilantes. The orange portal scared Frank and Eddie when it appeared right in front of them. With little warning, the two were pulled through.
Chapter 6: The sigh heard around the city
Notes:
Sorry, this took so long to be posted. I've been busy and stressed out.
Chapter Text
The alarms in the tower started to go off while Peter talked to his friends. MJ and Ned were pretty similar to how they were in the other universe. They were still waiting for May to arrive.
“Fri, why are the alarms going off?” Tony called out to his AI.
“It seems like we have more off universe visitors, sir. From the information I gathered from Mr. Parker’s AIs, they seem to be from his universe.” Peter was shocked. He didn’t think that someone would come after him. The only people that he interacted with were the vigilantes and anti-heroes that he patrolled with.
“Friday, can you show me what they look like?” Peter asked. Friday pulled up the camera footage of the abandoned apartment building that Tony had found him in a little over a week ago. Oh, god. Why did they have to be the ones to follow Peter? Wait, how were they there, didn’t they need Strange to send them to the universe. Peter thought that Strange would stop them from coming to the universe.
“I’ll be back, Mr. Stark.” Peter didn’t even give him time to respond before he swung out of the room through the open window. Tony stood staring out the window for a minute before chasing after his kid.

Wade looked up at the building in front of their group. He was hopeful that he would see Peter soon, but who knows where in the universe he landed. Matt sat on the nearby bench. He looked like he was deep in thought.
“Soooo, what’s the plan to find our Spidey?” Wade kicked a piece of ruble. Eddie looked like he was struggling to keep Venom from taking over and Frank was staring at a blur in the sky. Wait, a blur?
“You all are such idiots. You all were meant to stay in the other universe. I can’t–” Peter was interrupted by Wade tackling him to the ground. After Peter spent a good couple of minutes trying to release himself from Wade’s grip, Frank walked over and yanked the mercenary from his spot on the teen.
“Peter, are you okay? We were all worried about you after you disappeared.” Matt questioned the teen while Venom and Wade checked him for injuries. In the distance, Peter and Matt could hear Tony’s boosters approaching.
“Get the hell away from my kid!” Tony aimed his suit’s blasters at the group of people. Wade glared at Tony as he pulled Peter behind him. Wade was the only one that Peter told about the illusions caused by Beck. He must’ve thought that Tony was another one.
“Wade, he’s real.” Wade sighed as he pulled Peter closer to him. Wade and Matt had become Peter’s parental figures after he lost Tony and May. Once everyone calmed down, Peter started to introduce everyone. He started with the vigilantes.
“This is Deadpool, Daredevil, Venom, Eddie, and Punisher.” He pointed at each of the members of the group. The socialising was exhausting, but it needed to be done if the vigilantes were staying. Introducing the Avengers was easier by a long shot. Most of the vigilantes knew who the Avengers were with the exception of Nat. Peter explained to everyone what had truly happened when he was forgotten about and what happened with Stange.
“-now I’m here and I’m happy. Anyways, even if I wanted to go back I can’t.” Peter let the last part out as casually as he could, but everyone could hear the tinge of sadness that had lingered ever since he lost May.
“Wait. Why can’t you go back? Strange didn’t mention this to us.” Wade looked confused, his once angry atmosphere dissipating with his questions. Peter looked down to his feet, the specks of old blood on his destroyed converse seeming more and more interesting by the second.
“The universe was falling apart because of me.” Peter mumbled quietly, though everyone in the area could hear the self-depricating sentence. Wade clenched his fists and tightened his grip on the now young teen. Tony seemed upset at not being able to hold Peter. Peter forgot how skinny he was when he was a teen. His mind was still adjusting to the reset of his age and body. Peter had started to take testosterone back in 8th grade and got top surgery at the beginning of 9th, and that seemed to be true in this universe as well. He remembered that he got bottom surgery after May died in that explosion and everyone forgot him.
“Kiddo, it is not your fault that your universe was falling apart. If it’s anyone's fault it’s Strange’s. Look at me Pete, it’s not your fault.” Tony had his hand supporting Peter’s jaw. The tears that fell from Peter’s eyes were not planned and neither was the hug that followed them. If anyone asked if Tony was crying he would tell them that his allergies were just acting up. Tony picked Peter up out of Wade’s hands. Peter was so tired that he just let the older man take him.
“Look, the kid’s tired and he needs food. How about we all go back to the tower and go eat. While yes, I would rather not bring you all into my home, Peter trusts you and would be upset if I kicked y’all to the streets.” Tony maneuvers Peter into his right arm and turns on his blasters to leave. He is stopped by Wade before he can take off.
“So, how are we supposed to get into your tower? I mean, I’m sure that not everyone here can fly with powers or their tech. So, do you perhaps have a way that us normal folk can use?” Wade should have been the last person to talk about being normal, but he had a point and Tony knew that. The sigh that came from the billionaire’s mouth was so loud that all of New York could have heard it.
“Those who can’t fly can go with Cap-cicle and Wolfy. If you can fly you can follow me.”
