China plates sat upon beautiful display cabinets. Looking around you could see so many beautiful things for anyone to envy. The centerpiece though was the elaborate portrait of Sailor Moon. Her hair flowing, her face determined. Poised to attack those who cross her. Prince Diamond looks at the painting with such longing.
“She refused to submit so I had to put her in here. To keep her safe from danger but near me at all times.” Prince Diamond explained in such an airy tone.
Opal was a peasant but a rich one. They had come as they had received an invitation to the gala that celebrated their victory over Earth. The night has started to unwind and being one of the few still there and aware of their surroundings has given them an opportunity to see the Treasury. It is quite unexpected that the painting that captured Sailor Moon be so front and center.
“Your Highness, I am sorry to question you, but is it wise to have her be so… prominent in your Treasury?” They asked with some trepidation.
“Why do you ask? She is a beauty incarnate, so she should be shown somewhere where people can gaze upon her?” Prince Diamond says his voice taking a dreamy tone as he gazes at her portrait.
“Well, her allies are still out there looking for her. If they find out she is here it could put the castle in great danger.” They awkwardly explain, wanting to go back home and not tell the prince how stupid of an idea this is. No matter how well protected the area is.
“Hm, that has been considered but that is only a problem if someone tells. Since they do not have the forces necessary to just go and pillage this fine castle for funsies.” Prince Diamond turns to me his expression far more terrifying then it had been previously. It is not straight up threatening though so they don’t know how to properly respond to it.
“That is true then it is a good thing we are both experts at keeping our mouths shut.” They awkwardly laugh, shuffling towards the exit as properly as he can in this scenario. Usually royalty would have to dismiss anyone but they hoped the Prince is far too drunk enough not to care.
“Opal,” he says as he gazes at Sailor Moon forever trapped in the portrait if someone does not rescue her. “Did you know that only those with noble blood have been in here.”
Those words make me freeze. This entire time has this been a trap? Angered that someone that is not noble dared to weasel their way into their ranks and rub elbows with them.
“Ah, is that so? How fascinating to know.” They forced out of their mouths, sweat starting to build up on their forehead. They stopped inching for the exit, resigned to their fate.
“Yes, yes it is. I just thought you should know is all. Good night Opal.” Prince Diamond says not even turning away from the portrait.
“Yes, good night Prince Diamond.” They bow quickly and make a run for the door. Not stopping until they are outside. Escaping from death left them shaking but they refused to break down until safely home. Here is hoping that the Sailor Scouts win. They do not think that they could keep their head intact with the Prince around.
