Work Text:

End times are a difficult thing to deal with. As a spy he has to deal with them a thousand times over. From crossing enemy lines, to sneaking past guards, to breaking in unbreakable vaults. He has done it time and time again.

So, to put the task on his six year old daughter made it so much more infuriating. He should be doing it himself but no, the school wants to do a competition to see who is the sneakiest. Training his daughter to make sure that she is doing her best and getting her teacher to look upon her more proudly and not disappointingly is proving to be difficult.

So trying to teach his daughter how to be sneaky to get to a vault behind other people's backs proved to be completely irritating. He bit back a groan as he watched Anya do her best to ‘tiptoe’ across the floor. It is more like stomping but he couldn’t say that. The child just had no grace at all in her tiny little body. Twilight has seen gigantic 7’ feet men be more sneaky and graceful than his daughter.

“I am getting better, papa!” Anya sprouts up running up to him. Putting her little hands up, and thrashing it about. “You didn’t even notice that I grabbed your wallet on the way so I am doing better.”

He internally sighed in his head. He had noticed that grabbed it, just didn’t care enough to even bother to mention it. He reached over and patted her head. “Yes, yes you did a good job. Let's keep practicing okay? Just like Bondman.”

She nodded eagerly. Running over to a different spot so she could practice. On the other hand he leaned back into the chair, giving himself a moment to think over the missions he has to complete later. What kind of disguises he would need for it and what he needs to do to fit in each scenario.

“I did good, right?” Anya squeals loudly, holding the designated papers in her hands. Jumping up and down excitedly. Snapping back into reality, embarrassed that he had let his mind wander than he would have usually allowed.

“Uh, yes. You were a great spy sweetie. Let’s run through it one more time okay?”

Anya stayed silent for a moment. Her expression turned glum before she turned away. “I want a break.” She said silently. Shocked at the swift mood change all he could do at that was agree. Anya quickly turned towards her room and ran there, shutting the door behind her. Bond followed her close to her heels but got locked out. Pawing and whining at the door until Anya let him inside.

Loud for his part just sat there awkwardly trying to understand what he had done wrong to get such a negative reaction out of her. She is usually so bright and happy but he didn’t understand what made her so upset.

Still he could not think of a single reason as to what he did. He showed the proper encouragement and excitement for the task. Did he let his mind wander too much and miss something important? Did he push her too hard?

Concern ran through him the more Anya didn’t leave her room. Determined to rectify his mistake he went to make some hot chocolate to make for her. Bringing it to her door he knocked in the door softly. “Anya? I got some hot chocolate for you.”

Relief filled him as he sees the door opening. Anya holds her hand out for the hot chocolate. “Thank you papa.” She says softly.

“It’s no problem. Sweetie about the sneaking around thing we don’t need to do that anymore alright. You already showed enough promise.”

Anya takes a big sip from her drink. Before turning to me, smiling brightly. “Okay papa. Can I watch Bondman?”

Relieved that I avoided the disaster I agreed. We both sat down watching the show Bondman until dinner. A rambunctious six year old is exhausting to deal with but it is so easy to appeal to them.
