In a way, he can agree with the boy's disbelief. Why had Thomas and Martha Wayne left their darling son to a man who they barely knew in any emotional capacity? Serving them lunch and organising their linen closet is hardly a reason to write him into their wills.
Staring down at Bruce, the butler desperately tries to work out how to explain to an eight year old that his parents might have been insane.
But maybe, the insane one is him.

I THINK OF YOU ALL THE TIME . was the first alfred pennyworth-centric and / or character-study-esque fic i had read , and i think this fic changed alot of my view on thomas and martha for the first time in a long time . it helped me see them as more human than memory ( but maybe that's what the tragedy always was ) . grief is something that's so well explored in this fic , plus the growing relationship between the waynes and alfred ( despite alfred being none the wiser ) felt so perfectly placed and well written . an absolute ten-out-of-ten must-read from me !!

ON THE OUTSIDE ALWAYS LOOKING IN . changed me as a human being <3 . we see perspectives we probably never thought about , thoughts i didn't expect , interpretations of situations and characters that genuinely surprised me . i think i mean it when i say that it really helped me think more on general outsider perspectives and more . gabriel and andrew are my favorite old yaoi couple in a long time ( considering the rest don't really count all that much ) and the most recent addition ? ( CRASH COURSE TO THE REST OF FOREVER . ) killed me in irrevocable ways . a one hundred percent must-read ! ( especially if you're a jason todd!fan ) .
