Sweet tooth

Summary:

And he didn't want to. He really, really didn't want to give in so easily. Especially not over something as banal as cookies.

But- but the cookies looked so so good, with the dough being soft and the chocolate chunks looking all crunchy, and he knew he wouldn't be able to sleep well if he didn't get to taste them at least once in his life.

"Ushiwaka-San.... Maybe we can wrap it up for today? I think we have practiced, Uh... enough... for today." Kageyama scratched his head while looking at Ushijima sheepishly.

—————————

Alternatively; Four times Oikawa Tooru successfully bribed his boyfriend with sweets and the one time that method completely failed him.

Notes:

this is another reupload and i decided on posting this one first since it was the least stressful to rewrite, because i actually liked this one just the way it is!

Work Text:

1.

He would be damned if he didn't go. In fact, if they didn't go. Oikawa Tooru couldn't believe the two letters in his shaking hands. Someone had to pinch him and tell him this wasn't real. Was this real? How could this be real?
He immediately took out his phone and did the first thing that came to his mind: contacting iwa-chan!

Shittykawa: IWA-CHAN! GUESS WHAT! GUESS WHAT!

Iwa-chan: ugh, what do you want this time around, shittykawa?

Shittykawa: grrrr! Can't you be more supportive of your amazing and fabulous best friend??? ヽ( ̄д ̄;)ノ=3=3=3
I'm literally DYING here!!! This is an emergency call!

Iwa-chan: amazing and fabulous my ass. You're an energy draining leech, but I wanna be generous today. So what has gotten the infamous Oikawa Tooru so worked up?

Shittykawa: Iwa-chan- your words are so hurtful sometimes (╹◡╹)but there's more important now!!! Guess what?! TOBIO-CHAN AND I HAVE BEEN INVITED TO THE NEXT RED CARPET EVENT! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! I THINK I'M GONNA SCREAM!!

Iwa-chan: Really? That's so cool, Tooru! You really deserve it. But tbh- tough luck on getting Kageyama-kun to join u- kekekeke

Shittykawa: ACK- I almost forgot!! Wish me luck!!! Love you ( ^ω^ )

Iwa-chan: love you too or whatever.... :/

That was something that had totally slipped Tooru's mind! He had to persuade his boyfriend to join him. His dear, dear boyfriend. Who was also really grumpy and socially awkward. Tobio was useless when it came to social situations, which was kind of unfortunate, given he was a very known volleyball player, who recently unveiled that he was dating another famous player.

This was basically just an invitation to all the journalists out there, and indeed; it had gotten them a lot of attention hence the invitations to the red carpet event. People went crazy after they found out, wanting to know every single detail of their relationship: when they started dating, how they started dating, even private stuff like how far they already went with each other.

Oikawa loved the attention he was getting. Now people not only look at him because of his outstanding volleyball skills and his good looks, but also because of his wonderful and adorable boyfriend. He loved showing Tobio off, claiming what was his in front of millions of people.

Tobio did not.

While he never exactly hated the press and the crowds, he never found himself actively seeking them out either. The amount of people surrounding him always left a slightly irritated and confused Tobio behind, as he did not understand them. All he ever wanted to do was play volleyball. He didn't ask to be on top of the next gossip magazine and he didn't ask to appear in any talk shows. That was just a waste of time he could spend doing better things, see: volleyball.

While Oikawa knew and understood this, he also knew that he wanted to go really badly. He would never forgive himself for letting this opportunity slip, and he was sure he’d be drowning in 'what if's' later on.

Also, Oikawa has always had a really bad case of fomo, so there was no way he could miss out on his first red carpet event ever.
So while he knew this, he still made it his number one task to get Tobio to join him. He could definitely use some familiar company under all the actors, singers and other sportsmen.

***

He sat on the couch, remote in one hand as he lazily flipped through the channels. He didn't actually care about what was running on the tv, he just didn't want to look dumb when Tobio arrived, which should be any second now. If he wanted to have a chance at succeeding, he needed to play it cool. Make it seem like a good idea to Tobio.

He drowned in his thoughts for two or three more minutes until the front door opened and he knew Tobio was home. The boy had been at an extra practice for some hours with his teammates, volleyball still being his number one priority (after Oikawa of course.)
Oikawa stood up from his seat in the living room, walking towards his younger boyfriend, who was currently taking off his shoes. He smiled at the sight.

"Hey cutie. How was practice?" Oikawa was a sucker for Tobio.

Said boy looked up at him, and Oikawa felt like melting on his spot. These eyes always managed to throw him off, no matter what the circumstances were. Kageyama flashed him a grin and went to sling his arms around Oikawa's neck after he finished putting his shoes away. Oikawa got hit by that familiar scent of his boyfriend: faint lemons mixed with sweet cinnamon. He loved it and he could never get enough.

"Hi Tooru. Practice was good. I missed you though." Kageyama mumbled the last sentence into the crook of Oikawa's neck, but it was very well audible to Tooru. Butterflies lifted in his stomach and he squeezed Kageyama a bit harder.

"Me too. I love you."

"Love you too, Tooru." Kageyama said and blushed a bit, happy his blush wasn't visible to Tooru. It was really an impudence that Tooru still managed to make him blush with three simple words.

Oikawa let go of Kageyama and led him to the living room. There the two of them made themselves comfortable on the couch, Kageyama lifting his legs to rest on the couch. (Sadly holding Oikawa at a distance at the same time). They decided to put on some sports news, wanting to know everything about the sports world. But what really threw Kageyama off was when Oikawa started massaging his feet, eyes still trained onto the television.

Kageyama's gaze immediately searched and found him, and while Tobio wasn't the best at reading people, he immediately knew something was wrong. Tooru sadly wasn't the type of boyfriend to just treat him well without any ulterior motives, so Kageyama asked.

"What are you doing?"

"Massaging your feet obviously, silly!" Oikawa let out a huff, still intently staring at the TV.

"Tooru." Kageyama spoke in that specific tone, and Oikawa finally looked at him.

"What, Tobio-chan? Can't I be a good boyfriend and care for you?"

"Well yes, but-" Kageyama scrunched his eyebrows together. Tooru knew exactly what he meant. "You never massage my feet. You find them disgusting." Kageyama said it so matter of factly, without any judgment and Oikawa faltered.

"What? No I don't- I don't hate your feet. I just- don't like them in general. I mean, while they're really helpful and essential in our lives, like- without feet you couldn't walk, and then you couldn't go from one place to another, which means you couldn't go to the gym to practice, and you-"

"Tooru." Kageyama said again, and this time Oikawa deflated. Seems like he had to do this now.

"Do you need to tell me something? Is something wrong?" Kageyama asked now, slightly worried. What happened? Was Oikawa going to tell him they were breaking up? But he- but he didn't see any signs? Was it something he did subconsciously?

"Ugh." Oikawa let go of Tobio's feet and lowered the tv's volume. The new transfer update of Sakusa Kiyoomi had to wait.
"Well, it's nothing bad, first off. Don't worry." Kageyama let out a breath, relieved.

"Today I checked the mailbox and there were two letters amongst the others. They were invitations for you and me."

"Invitations? Invitations for what? Don't tell me Hinata dumbass is planning a stupid get-together again." Kageyama's mind swifted to that stupid party Hinata held a few months back. It didn't end well. For no one.

Oikawa laughed. "No. It's nothing like that. You and I got invited to the next red carpet event, and I'd like to go. Not only me, but with you. The both of us. Together. What do you say?" Oikawa had high hopes.

Kageyama seemed to think for a moment. "No.", came his answer.

"But-" Oikawa started. He should have known his boyfriend wouldn't be up to it. Still, he had hoped.

“Look- Tooru. I'm not saying you shouldn't go. I think you should. I'm sure you're going to make a lot of friends and maybe even meet some of your idols? I just think it'd be better if I stayed at home. I don't do well on occasions like this and I wouldn't want to ruin this for you." Kageyama stood up and pressed a kiss onto Oikawa's forehead, before walking into the kitchen. The conversation was over for him.

Oikawa pouted and had his arms crossed together. He knew Kageyama's decision was final, but he still wasn't happy.
He had hoped to bring Kageyama along and shine on the red carpet. Together. He knew about the others' insecurities and while he did his best to help him get rid of them, he knew from experience that sometimes it was better to just directly confront the situation.

"Tooru! Where did you get the tarts?" Kageyama suddenly asked from the kitchen and his voice held a tone Tooru had never heard in his life.

"Oh the tarts? Sayuma-chan brought them over earlier for me. She said something about eating sweets once in a while is good for an athlete's bones or something..." Sayuma was Oikawa's mother. She often brought food over for the both of them, knowing that they probably wouldn't eat healthily with their busy schedules, but she had never once brought over sweets.

"Can I please have one?" Kageyama asked politely, hoping that he would get a yes for an answer. Nobody really knew besides his family, but he had a really bad sweet tooth. If it wasn't for his mother always reprimanding him, he would've probably never become an athlete, and just put on a lot of weight instead.

And he would have been happy with that, too.

But Oikawa was a petty brat, and he was still angry at Tobio for declining his proposal. So he answered with a simple "No."
He didn't plan on eating them all alone anyways. Sooner or later he would’ve shared them with Tobio, just not now. He needed to have his moment.
On the other side, all Tobio saw were fucking mouthwatering blueberry and vanilla tarts practically begging him to be eaten. There were fresh blueberries on top with liquid white chocolate sauce that had already dried up beautifully by now. Before Tobio could even think further, he found himself asking;

"Awww! What do I have to do to get one? I'd do everything!" Kageyama bent over a bit to take a sniff at the delicious tarts in front of him and he knew he'd go feral if he didn't taste at least one. Today. Now.

Oikawa thought he was smooth when he proposed: "go to the red carpet event with me." But his sly smile slowly drained off his face when Tobio answered with a "okay, sure. Can I have one now?" Oikawa jumped out of his seat and immediately sprinted to the kitchen.

"Are you serious, Tobio-chan?? Do you mean it?" Oikawa looked at Kageyama wide eyed, who was still inhaling the aroma of the tarts.

"Yeah. I mean it. I'll follow you to that stupid blue carpet event or whatever. Can I please have one now?"

"Y-yeah- of course uhhh- y-yeah take as many as you want..." Oikawa said slowly backing off. He still didn't believe it. Tobio's had just gotten bribed with some vanilla tarts and that was all it took for him to give in? Tooru didn't want to jinx it, so he went back to the living room, not before admiring the spark in Tobio's eyes as he was given permission to take one.

Could he have possibly unlocked a new weapon?

2.

"Yes of course, Wakatoshi-san. I'll definitely let you know, but I don't think that should be a problem. Yes. Yeah, thank you, really. I appreciate it. No problem. See you later!"

Kageyama dropped the phone onto the table in front of him, and Oikawa did his best to hide the pout that tried to form on his face while preparing breakfast for them.
Tobio didn't need to see that he was jealous, but honestly- what the fuck was wrong with Ushijima Wakatoshi?

"Wakatoshi-san invited me out." Kageyama said to inform his lover about his plans.

"Wakatoshi invited you out?" Oikawa asked again, because what else was he supposed to say? He sure as hell wasn't going to wish Tobio loads of fun and tell him how cool that was. Because it clearly wasn't.

"Yeah. Not only me, though. It's something like a team bonding night out. Kageyama took his phone back into his hands and started tapping on it.

"So... your whole team is going to be there?" Oikawa asked now, his back still facing Tobio. If it was the whole team, maybe it wasn't that bad? He at least wouldn't have to worry about fucking Wakatoshi and lovely Tobio getting closer.

Once upon a time, Oikawa used to see both Ushijima Wakatoshi and Kageyama Tobio as his biggest rivals. He had that big urge to crush both of them, both of the people that seemed to be able to surpass him so easily. Whenever playing against one of them, he had the feeling that his hard work wasn't acknowledged- how could it be when he played against a genius and a monster? No one would see how much work he put into volleyball, because next to them he didn't stand out at all.

With the help of Iwaizumi though, he learned to understand that what he felt for Tobio wasn't truly only resentment and hatred. Because despite what he always said, he still always found himself seeking the attention of his 'adorable kouhai', and when the younger wouldn't pay attention to him, he felt an ugly feeling bubbling inside his stomach.
Iwaizumi told him that there had to be more. He wasn't sure himself, but Oikawa should make a move to find out how he truly felt towards Kageyama.

So Oikawa did. It might have been a bit embarrassing for him, but it was a very much needed step. He had taken the liberty to fully study Kageyama Tobio's schedule: when he would come out of his house to jog to school, when he would leave school grounds for lunch at a nearby ramen shop, when he would start afternoon practice and when it would end. Even on weekends that boy was a complete organization freak. He always went shopping on Saturdays between one and two pm and you could see him in the community center later around four.

A scared look overtook Iwaizumi's eyes as he heard of what Tooru had done, but Tooru didn't see a problem with that. How else was he supposed to know when and where to approach Tobio?
And even Kageyama didn't question it when he started seeing Tooru at the same ramen shop, the same convenience store and the community center, so Tooru was good to go.

The two of them started spending more time together and Tooru realized the younger one was adorable. He was much more shy than one might think, based on only his volleyball history. Tooru could easily make him blush with whatever he said, and he loved that. The boy was also a bit slow sometimes, not understanding the hints Oikawa gave him, but to Tooru, that was just another cute personality trait. He was simpleminded and it was really funny to watch. Tooru was entranced. The moment he heard Kageyama Tobio's laugh for the first time did wonders to him. He had been eating with the younger one when Iwaizumi called him to scold him about leaving school unannounced. Oikawa tried his best to defend himself, but he was powerless.

And Kageyama seemed to find that hilarious.

At the end of the school year, Oikawa asked Tobio out, and was surprised to see the younger boy agree so easily.

"Hinata boke told me you probably had a crush on me, so I wanted to see what you would do, in case I misunderstood the signals." Kageyama had said to him when he asked him about it. He only laughed in relief and drew Tobio in for a hug.

That had been three years prior, Tobio just having finished his first year. His resentment for Tobio had turned into love, awe and pride.
For Tobio. Not for Ushijima. Of course that bastard would also go pro, but that didn't mean Tooru had to like the fact that he played on the same team as his precious boyfriend. And the way Ushijima was always so nonchalant about everything- ugh! Tooru wanted to rip his hair out!

***

"No. It's not my whole team. Just me, Hoshiumi-San and Ushijima-San." Kageyama said as if it wasn't a big deal.

"So... you could barely call it a team bonding session, since half of the team is missing." Oikawa stated matter of factly. However, he didn't want to butt into Tobio's business too much. He didn't want his boyfriend to go out without him, but he also knew there were boundaries.

"Yeah. Ushijima-San, Hoshiumi-San and I are pretty close since we've known each other since high school."

"Which is only a year back for you." Oikawa said clipped, and Kageyama laughed. Oikawa noticed that Kageyama often liked to think of himself as an adult and super mature, which was just not the case. As a 19 year old he should be enjoying his youth. And that was some wise advice from a 21 year old who was already wishing back his youth.

"Whatever." Kageyama replied, standing up to help Oikawa set the table.

"How long are you gonna be out?" Oikawa asked, trying to sound as if he wasn't interested at all. As if he didn't really care.

"Not sure yet. Ushijima-san said that the hangout was formally planned until 11pm, but Hoshiumi-san said that that was bullshit, and you can't set a time for such a hangout. So I'm not really sure."

"Hm." Oikawa answered. He wasn't one to talk. Whenever he went out, he would come home late. Like really late, you could probably already call it early in the morning.

The two of them sat down and started talking. Kageyama told him about the video of the MSBY black jackals that went viral, and how he was the one who took it. It was just supposed to be a fun video, since they were all drunk, but somehow Tobio had ended up posting it.

Sakusa sat in a corner, brows furrowed tightly, mask on and hands in his pocket, while Hinata continued to slide on the counter, microphone in his hands and only covered in a tie (without shirt) and boxers. Bokuto was feeling Hinata's vocals and showed off his really weird looking dance moves as Atsumu continuously pestered Sakusa. Sakusa didn't once let out a sound but Atsumu didn't give up!

Oikawa laughed at the story and ruffled through Tobio's hair, a wave of affection washing through him. This relationship with Tobio was probably the best decision in his whole life.

"What about you?" Kageyama asked.

"Hm? What do you mean?" Oikawa retaliated. He didn't understand the sudden change in topic.

"Any plans for tonight? What are you going to do?"

Oh, Oikawa had been waiting for this exact moment! Feeling giddy, he tried to suppress his snicker and instead put on a sad expression.
Seriously, someone had to give him a Grammy or whatever awards actors get.

"Oh nothing special. At least you get to enjoy yourself. I'll just be watching Studio Ghibli movies with that new ice cream bucket I bought. Not sure if you know it, but it's that deluxe limited edition ice cream bucket in mango and passion fruit flavor. The one with the caramel chunks." Oikawa looked down.

"What?" Kageyama croaked out breathlessly, as if he had run 50 laps.

"What do you mean? It's unfair if only you get to have a nice evening." Oikawa puffed out his cheeks in fake annoyance.

"Wait- you mean you bought the gourmet magnificent deluxe ice cream bucket in passion fruit mango flavor?! The expensive 2 litre one??"

"Yes? Why?" Oikawa innocently asked. He knew exactly why.

"O-on second thought- I don't think I feel well enough to go out tonight... I-I think I'll call Ushijima-san to decline the offer. Would you have a problem with me staying here?" Kageyama asked, eyes huge and sparkling.

"I could never." Oikawa answered with a smile, lacing his fingers with Kageyama's.

So what if he played dirty?

3.

Oikawa stood by his car in the parking lot of the Schweiden Adler's gym, waiting for Kageyama Tobio, his Tobio-chan, aka the love of his life, to come out.
Officially, practice had ended 30 minutes ago, and he had already seen some of Tobio's teammates coming out and going to their own cars, some even giving Oikawa a nod of acknowledgement.

He was just lucky he hadn't seen Ushiwaka by now, because that would surely have ruined his mood.

He had hoped for Tobio to come out faster than ushijima, because then his day would have been just perfect: waking up to the beautiful face of Tobio-chan, getting a breakfast prepared by Kageyama (that was a rarity. The boy rarely had time to cook for himself and Oikawa, but his cooking was amazing. Perks of growing up alone, Tobio had once called it.), having a great day at practice (his coach kept on praising him), and now he wanted to finish that day off by going home, cuddling with Tobio while watching a romance movie.

But thirty minutes had already passed and there was no sign of Tobio-Chan.
It was getting darker by the minute now, and if Tobio took any longer then his mood would sour. Before getting here, he had visited his mother, and she gave him freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. (He told her of Tobio's sweet tooth, and ever since then she would randomly call him over to collect sweets for Tobio.)

He held the cookies in a box on his left arm while he checked his phone for the time with his right hand.
It was almost eight in the evening now. It wasn't exactly summer, meaning that it had already gotten darker by now, and Oikawa finally had enough. Good thing he hadn't seen ushijima yet.

Wrong.

After he dramatically entered the gym, he entered the changing rooms first, suspecting Tobio to be there, but he had to learn that there was no Tobio-chan in the locker rooms and also no Tobio-chan in the showers.
That was when the horror dawned on him.

His boyfriend was still in the gym practicing. Even though practice had long finished.

Now, others may not see the problem, but the two of them vowed to stop overworking themselves, since they both had the habit of overestimating their own bodies. Oikawa had twisted his ankles due to overexertion numerous times, and even Tobio has been laying in bed with numb limbs and pounding migraines more than just once.
To make sure they never hurt themselves anymore, they both said they wouldn't stay longer than 20 minutes after practice, even if they badly wanted to.

Because the pain of never being able to play the sport again would definitely be way worse.

Oikawa held his breath, as he stomped towards the gym, cookie box still on his arm. Seriously, if he had known about what Kageyama had been doing, he would have left the box in the car.
Once he reached, he opened the door hard and fast, making it slam against the wall. His eyes searched for Tobio and they immediately found what they had been searching for.

Tobio held a volleyball in his hands, ready to serve, while the other side of the net was occupied by none other than Ushijima Wakatoshi, ready to receive the serve. Blegh.
Tobio stopped in his tracks and turned to the door, surprised to see Oikawa there. Was it that late already? He didn't know how much time had passed since training ended, but it felt like five minutes. Less than that, even.

"O-Oikawa-San?" Kageyama questioned uncomfortably as his boyfriend was seething, chest lifting and sinking rapidly.

"Fuck. Tobio-chan. Come on. Let's go." Oikawa said. He didn't plan on acknowledging Ushijima, because he was already trying his best here, okay? He saw his boyfriend with his lifelong nemesis, practicing alone. ALONE. No team there, no coach there. Oikawa could admit he was kind of a jealous person, but ushiwaka was something different. He could never learn to like that guy. And on top of that, Tobio had reverted back to calling him 'Oikawa-san', a habit he had when he was nervous. It left a bitter taste in Oikawa's mouth.

Tobio looked at Oikawa as if he had grown a second head. "Where?"

"Home, duh?? Pack up now. We're leaving." Oikawa said, leaning onto the wall, eyes trained solely on Tobio. Not Wakatoshi.

"But- we haven't finished here. We planned on at least three more serves on my side and five on Ushijima-san's." Kageyama furrowed his eyebrows. Surely time hadn't passed that quick, right? The 20 minutes weren't over already, right?

"Tobio. I told you to at least call me Ushiwaka if you aren't comfortable with Wakatoshi. But he is right, Oikawa." Wakatoshi turned to Oikawa. "Give us at least 10 more minutes. We'll make it quick."

Oikawa sent a glare towards Ushiwaka before looking back at Kageyama. "Tobio-chaaaaan. I'm hungry, and I want cuddles." Maybe whining would help?

Well, Tobio did blush, but it wasn't enough to change his mind. He needed the extra practice. Now more than ever. They soon had a match against the black jackals and his serve needed to be in top form for that. "Alright. Only 10 more minutes. Like Ushiji- I mean Ushiwaka-san said. We'll be quick, I promise." Oikawa let out a huff, trying to maintain his jealousy. He slid to the ground to make himself more comfortable. He wouldn't leave this spot, and he could watch Tobio intently.

Soon, it got boring. Watching them play was like watching two robots interacting. Tobio spiked, Wakatoshi received. Tobio bowed and said his thanks, Wakatoshi accepted. And repeat. Ugh. Tooru opened the box in his arms and was immediately welcomed by the scent of the cookies. They were still warm somehow.
He took a deep whiff and bit into one. Wow, this was what he called comfort food.

It took exactly three minutes for the scent to transport into Tobio's direction and reach his nose. His head immediately snapped towards Tooru, and he saw him happily munching on cookies. Godly cookies. Oh how the drool in his mouth gathered at the scent and the sight. His stomach let out a low rumble and he looked at Ushiwaka who was getting ready to serve again.
He received the ball cleanly, but he now heard every single crack of the chocolate chunks, and he knew- he was a goner.

And he didn't want to. He really, really didn't want to give in so easily. Especially not over something as banal as cookies. Practice was really important right now, especially with their upcoming match.

"Of course, Tobio. See you-" Wakatoshi didn't get to finish his sentence because Kageyama bolted into the direction of Oikawa and ushijima wondered; they had just practiced for almost four hours straight. Where did that boy get the energy for a sprint?
Before Oikawa could take another bite from the cookie, a shadow darkened his visual field and his Cookie was being snatched from him. Additionally a heavy weight plopped onto him.

Oikawa looked up slowly, and- unbelievable... Tobio nibbled on his cookie while squatting in Oikawa's lap, not sparing Tooru a glance, instead looking into the box and counting how many more cookies there were. "Are these from Sayuma-chan? They're really good." Tobio was right. These cookies were god tier.

Oikawa was speechless. Tobio really had no grace.

But in the end he got what he wanted and Tobio stopped practicing. Tooru forgot Ushijima was still watching them and pressed a big fat and wet kiss against Tobio's sweaty forehead. "Ewwwww Tooru!" Kageyama said grossed out, and Oikawa chuckled.

4.

"What do you think about this one?" Oikawa emerged from the changing rooms dressed in a dark blue polo shirt and black ripped jeans. He used his hand to push back his hair while leaning against the doorframe, looking at Tobio seductively. Tobio only looked up once from his phone and replied with a clipped: "looks nice.", before turning back to his phone. He was watching a video Hinata had sent him, where the slightly older boy talked about the most recent occurrence with his younger sister.

Oikawa looked at Tobio with a disappointed look, but he just shrugged and went back into the changing room. Tobio was right after all; he did look nice in everything he wore. He just wished for a bit more attention from his boyfriend. But he couldn't get everything in life, could he? It was already a miracle Tobio had followed him here.

"Okay I got everything. Let's go now." Oikawa was now wearing his normal clothes again, the ones he wanted to buy on his arm. Tobio looked at him and nodded his head once. Oikawa walked ahead but Tobio quickly caught up and laced Oikawa's fingers with his own. Oikawa gave him a small cheek kiss and they walked up to the counter, ready to pay for everything.

Once they had finished, they got out of the shop, and Tobio thought that was it. He thought they would go home, and his mind already drifted away, thinking about the volleyball match he planned on watching later on. It was a game of the second division. The Sendai Frogs, aka Tsukki's team against some other club. EJP something. EJP Raijin? Rajin? He didn't know.

Maybe he would find some new treats from Sayuma-Chan in the fridge again? He was really lucky he was an athlete and burned enough calories with the constant workouts. He didn't start eating sweets again until recently, and if he was being honest, he had almost forgotten how heavenly they were.

The moment he zoned back in, he realized they weren't at their car, but instead in front of a second shop. Tooru tricked him! He was about to throw a fit, but Oikawa must have felt him tense up, because he was quick to defend himself.

"Just one more shop, Tobio-chan! I need new underwear, or would you rather have me wearing none at all?" Oikawa smirked at the end, but the fact that Kageyama actually considered that possibility threw Oikawa off, and he let out an indignant "HEY!" before elbowing him into his side. Kageyama giggled, albeit being red himself.

They entered the shop and Tobio quickly scanned it over. It was a shop with both men and women's underwear and lingerie. Here and there, you could find some actual clothing such as Tops, Sweatshirts, Skirts and Jeans and overall, the shop looked cozy. Oikawa dragged him to a 'sale' spot, which was ridiculous, but it was so Oikawa-like. He liked expensive and good fashion, but that didn't apply to his underwear. No one really saw it anyways.

Oikawa and Tobio looked over the different packs of boxers and briefs, searching for the ones they liked the most.
Tobio could also use some new underwear.

"These!" Oikawa said and pointed at a twin pack of light blue boxers with a yellow duck pattern. Blue was Tobio's favorite color, and it was really a gift from heaven that Tooru looked good in every color.

Kageyama giggled and picked them up. "You'd look good in these, Tooru-senpai." He put them into their bag and left as if he hadn't just called Tooru senpai for the first time in public. He only ever called him that in bed.

"Tobio-chaaaaan! Come back hereeee!" A flushed Oikawa chased Tobio, who tried to get away as inconspicuously as possible.

***

In the end, Tobio got two packs of plain black slim fit boxers, because Oikawa told him they would make his ass look great. Of course he didn't tell that to Oikawa. He explained himself, saying that he likes to keep things basic, and that way he could play better volleyball. Oikawa hummed in agreement, but his eyes said otherwise.

Now Tobio was waiting for Tooru. Honestly, how much longer did he want to take? Now his preparation time for the volleyball game got cut short for no reason at all.
Oikawa was looking around, trying to make sure that he didn't forget anything important, when his eyes fell onto it.

There stood a dummy in the women's section, wearing a really hot white tennis skirt. There were different kinds of lingerie surrounding it, and Oikawa smirked when the dummy morphed into Tobio.
Thus, his dream began. He was sure that the skirt would stop just right above Tobio's mid thigh, leaving Tooru just enough thigh to play with, and it would snuggle comfortably around Tobio's narrow waist. Tobio would look awesome.

And the moment Oikawa would bend him over the kitchen counter and do unholy things to him, the skirt would flutter around prettily.

He hadn't realized that he had marched towards the dummy, but there he stood in front of it, admiring the white tennis skirt that gave the mannequin a slender waist and rather wide hips. It was the calming voice of Tobio that brought him back to the real world.

"Oikawa-San?" Kageyama sounded rather reserved, and Oikawa's head whipped around to meet Tobio's eyes. Tobio looked at him with a curious gaze, and Oikawa's eyes sparkled.

"Tobio-chan." Oikawa breathed out, and Kageyama took a step back.

"Yes...?" The blue eyed boy answered, albeit hesitantly.

"What size do you wear in the women's section?" Oikawa asked him and Tobio furrowed his brows before his eyes went back to the Tennis skirt, back to Oikawa and then widened. Now he took three more steps back.

"Wh-why would you ask that? Ahahaha...." Tobio looked around, ready to send out a cry for help, but it was so late, there were barely any customers.

"So I can buy you this tennis skirt." Oikawa said nonchalantly.

"Wh-why would you buy me a tennis skirt? I don't.... I don't wear skirts..."

Oikawa nodded his head in agreement. "Correct. But, that can change right? This skirt would make your ass look so good, and just imagine what kind of things we could do with that skirt, you on all fours or bend over the counter..." Oikawa was losing himself in his thoughts.

Tobio had overtaken the color of a ripe tomato while listening to Oikawa and his desires. Th-that was too much!

"No!" Kageyama said, and his voice cracked, much to his own dismay. Oikawa looked at him for a long time before deflating and pouting. He knew he couldn't push Tobio into something he didn't like, as much as he wanted to. He knew that wouldn't be fair, but he also knew that Tobio didn't actually hate the idea. After spending so many years with the younger, Tooru could easily tell how the other felt about things. Tobio was just being stubborn.

That meant Oikawa had to use different methods.

"That’s okay. Well, then let's pay and get out of here. Oh! Could we still stop at Starbucks? I got a coupon for a free pink drink from my teammates, and I'd like to use it today." Oikawa marched past Tobio, up to the counter.

Kageyama struggled to catch up, tripping over his own feet. "W-wait! What do you mean? Pink drink? But they don't even have it this season!" Kageyama was startled. Starbucks only had the infamous pink drink in specific seasons, and this season was not a part of their schedule.

"I know." Oikawa said with a smug tone. Kageyama wanted to roll his eyes, but he was too caught up in the thought of getting the pink drink and tasting it now. "I can get it because I have a coupon. They don't just give it out to everyone. That's why I'd like for you to hurry up. Before they close." Oikawa turned around to Tobio, and motioned towards the counter.

"U-Uh...." Kageyama scratched the back of his head while looking at the ground.

"What is it?" Oikawa asked, but he knew what Tobio was on about.

"Well- would....would you be ready to share your pink drink with me?" Kageyama flushed.

Oikawa gasped. "Why would I share with you? It'll only be empty way more quickly! There's no way we can both have it!" Oikawa put one hand on Tobio's shoulder before turning around again and marching towards the counter.

"I'll get the skirt!" Kageyama yelled, and some people turned around to him, only to start whispering. His face was a dark red now, and he looked at everything and everyone but Oikawa. He couldn't face him after saying something as embarrassing as this.

Oikawa held back his smirk. "Really..? You'd do that?" Oikawa said with a hopeful tone, and walked back to Tobio.

"Yes... I'll get the skirt if I can have some sips of your pink drink." Kageyama whispered, still ashamed.

"You know what? I don't think I want it anymore. You can have it all!" Oikawa went back to the skirts and Tobio followed him.
Oikawa threw Tobio a questioning look, and Tobio muttered his size, still ashamed. The things he did for a pink drink.
Tooru flashed him a toothy grin and went up to the counter, ready to pay for everything.

Once they got out of the shop, Tobio seemed to have already forgotten that he had just bought a skirt, mind drooling over the pink drink. Tooru only chuckled. He'd make sure Tobio wouldn't forget about that skirt soon enough.

+1

Oikawa sat on their dining table while glaring hard at the planner in his hands.
Maybe if he squinted hard enough the taunting words would magically erase themselves from there, or maybe they would change into something else. This couldn't be true. Not today.

"Y'know, the words won't magically disappear, right? It's not that big of a deal. Just get it over with." Kageyama shrugged and got himself a glass of water before deciding to join Oikawa at the table. It was currently Saturday, and he was at home. That was something that didn't happen very often, one could almost say never.

Oikawa scoffed. Of course Tobio would try to play this down. His boyfriend had never been the one to actually emotionally feel things. He didn't feel the pain Tooru felt right now. Tooru redirected his glare at Tobio, and the boy defensively held his hands in the air.

"Woah. I'm just saying. You're gonna have to do it anyway."

Kageyama stood up, after he had finished drinking his cup of water and grabbed his crutches. Oikawa's glare immediately vanished and he sent the setter a worried look, but it was as if Kageyama had seen that coming because he said: "I'm fine, ugh. It doesn't even hurt that bad. Stop looking at me like this every time I move." Okay maybe Kageyama actually had seen this one coming.

Tobio had twisted his ankle on Wednesday at practice, which resulted in him having to visit the doctor for more insight. The news didn't make him feel particularly good or bad as he didn't understand, but the doctor put it into a language Kageyama could understand and he said; "no volleyball for two weeks, got it?" Kageyama understood and his emotionless expression was switched into a horrified one.

"Okay, Tobio-Chan, I believe you." Oikawa said and let Tobio go off to the living room. He turned back around to the planner, and almost let out a whine. Right. There was still this problem.

Tobio had come to him this morning and slammed the little calendar down in front of him, passively telling him that it was his turn to do the chores, as if it wasn't the worst thing to happen in the whole decade. It was his turn to clean the house. The whole house!!
Every second Saturday Tooru was supposed to clean the house, vacuum the floors, do the laundry and clean the bathrooms.
Tobio cleaned the house every second Thursday, since that was his only free day, and that way the house would be cleaned at least once a week.

Except for the fact that Oikawa didn't actually clean.

As I have already mentioned before, Tobio isn't usually home on saturdays. He is always out. Usually at practice, and if he doesn't go to practice, he makes himself busy with other things to do, such as go for an outing with Yachi, Hinata, Yamaguchi and Tsukishima. Despite all of them pursuing different careers, they still stayed close. (Tsukki was an asshole still, but they knew he was glad to have them)

So since Tobio isn't home on Saturdays to actually check after him, Tooru doesn't clean the house. Which sane person would voluntarily clean the house? When Tobio returns though, the house is always really clean.
That's not Oikawa's work, but Emi-chan's. Nagano Emi is a 19 year old college student, who occasionally cleans the house for Tooru. She doesn't have a problem cleaning the house (which is practically always clean, to begin with) and Tooru pays her a good amount of money for her work.

Now though, Oikawa quickly texted her that she wasn't needed for today, and she replied with a polite 'okay, Oikawa-san. Have a nice day!' Oikawa grunted and face palmed. He was doomed.

Unless.... He wasn't....

He stood up, straightened out his shirt before going into the living room, where he saw Tobio scooped up in a blanket, watching Jojo's bizarre adventure. Oikawa never understood how Tobio could enjoy watching that, but there was more important stuff now.

He sat down next to Tobio, eyes trained on the tv, Tobio in his arms. The younger emitted a certain and familiar warmth, and his heart swelled with affection for him. He was so lucky to have Tobio by his side. Even if things weren't always as easy as they seemed, he knew they were destined to be together. They would never leave each other.

Things could have been perfect, really. The two of them sitting there together cuddling, enjoying each other's embrace and watching an anime. Things could have been perfect, really. But of course, Tobio had to ruin that.

"Tooru?" Kageyama whispered.

"Yes, bunny?" Oikawa answered, to let him know he was listening.

"Start cleaning." Kageyama whispered, drawing the blanket closer around himself. He felt Tooru tense, and had to keep in a chuckle.

"Tobio-chaaaan! Why do you always have to ruin the mood?" Oikawa asked while pulling at his hair.

"If you'd just get this over with, I'm sure we could continue doing what we had been. Maybe even take things a bit further. The skirt is still in my wardrobe, you know?" Kageyama said, and Oikawa's eyes turned into saucers. But as much as that opportunity was appealing, he still didn't want to clean.

"Tobio-Chan, you're a tormentor." Oikawa mumbled before getting up from the couch.

"Good thing I have this pack of the original French macarons and two cartons of strawberry milk to at least keep me company."

Kageyama turned around. "You do?"

Oikawa shamelessly smirked. "Yes indeed. I do." Oikawa had already won.

"That's a good thing then. That means I don't have to share my own." Oikawa's head whipped around incredibly fast, while Tobio bent down from his seating position to get a black backpack which he opened. Tooru was surprised to see loads and loads of sweet stuff in there. Not only macarons but various types of pastry, biscuits and jelly.

"W-where did you get that!?" Oikawa yelled enraged.

"My teammates gave me this after my ankle was sprained." Kageyama shrugged as if that wasn't some huge news. As if Tooru didn't actually have to clean the whole house now. As if life was great. As if he couldn't bribe Tobio anymore for a very long time. The horror dawned on Oikawa, and he had to drag his feet to the bathroom. Screw chores.

And if he had to convince himself that Tobio's laughter came from plainly watching Jojo's bizarre adventure, no one had to know.
