Work Text:
She was in the kitchen, buttering her toast -only food she could stomach these days- when the front door opened with a click and three footsteps followed.
“You’re back early!” She called out while walking out of the kitchen, toast long forgotten. She couldn’t help but giggle seeing her husband and the kids. With their matching red noses.
“Spring’s here finally.” Her husband sniffled, trying to take his shoes off while balancing little Jane in his arms.
“The park was really nice, mama.” Agatha chimed in, wiping her nose with the arm of her jacket.
“I can’t breathe.” Thomas ran to Penelope, knowing she’d fix it like she always does.
“Oh my poor babies, settle on the couch while I grab your sprays.” She gave a kiss to Thomas and patted his butt towards the couch.
“I’ll come help you!” Colin said and tried to follow her after he placed Jane on the couch.
Penelope stopped him before he can take one more step. “I can carry 4 little sprays love, don’t you worry.” She kissed him and made sure he also took a seat before going to the medicine cabinet they keep in the downstairs bathroom.

After a while, when everyone was breathing well and Penelope finally ate her piece of toast, Colin murmured “Hope this one won’t get pollen allergies as well,” while caressing her belly.
Penelope wished for the opposite.
