Summary
“Afternoon,” Fred calls out, his voice firm though not unkind.
“That there’s my waterin’ hole you’re usin’” He tilts his head towards the stranger's horse, who continues carelessly lapping at the water.
The unknown male jumps to his feet suddenly, the motion making Fred tense. Though he quickly relaxes as the other holds his hands out on either side of his head, showing his empty palms.
“I’m so sorry, man- I ain’t seen a sign or- or any fence ‘round here. Had no idea it belonged to anybody, I swear it.”
