Work Text:
Spending the short school vacation in the palace of Sunset Savana was absolutely wonderful. It was just two weeks off, but at least the first week had been great.
First off, Leona convinced Vil to spend that vacation with him at the palace, getting him to meet the royal family. Leona's brother seemed excited about the fact that his younger sibling had found a lover, ticking Leona off due to Farena wanting to get to know Vil, and Kifaji was delighted to see Vil again, probably because he's had a hunch about Leona and Vil from the first glance at them. Nothing escaped that man's sight.
The servants were also nice, however mostly towards Vil. Despite relying on Ruggie a lot at NRC, Leona didn't even once ask or order something from the servants. Vil knew about his hardships with the people at the palace, so he didn't pay much attention to it. Besides, it made Leona do more things for him so that the servants couldn't, so why would Vil complain?
As said, the first week was more than enjoyable, however, the second week wasn't so much after the first three days of it being as enjoyable as the days before.
Vil was pacing through one of the halls of the palace, phone at one of his ears and his face in a frustrated frown.
“It's fine. I'll… fix something.” He said before hanging up. Once the phone was turned off, he loudly groaned, and made his way out of the hall. He was so stuck in his head, that he didn't see who he passed until hands were placed on his shoulders and he was forcefully being turned around, ending up in someone's arms. “Watch-” he wanted to tell them off, but cut himself off when he realised that it was Leona who was holding him.
Leona instantly recognised the distressed look on his lover's face, and held him more gently. “Aren't you supposed to be on your way to a shoot?” He asked, keeping his voice at a certain tone that hopefully wouldn't piss Vil off further.
“Yes!” Vil snapped, wiggling himself out of Leona's grip, Leona's attempt at keeping it calm having failed. “I am! But my driver is stuck in traffic, my manager is still on vacation, and your car is getting a checkup!”
“If your manager is on vacation, how come you have this shoot?” Leona asked. He wasn't familiar in Vil's field, having helped him with a shoot only once because Vil's co-star had called off last minute and the model had found him the perfect replacement, but not having a manager during a shoot was a little questioning to him.
“It was planned beforehand.” Vil explained shortly. “But I'm not going to make it in time if we keep talking. Do you know if one of the servants has a driver's license and a car?” He said as he walked away from Leona to look for a servant.
The lion caught up to the model, having to jog for just a short moment due to Vil's walking speed that he had when he was stressed. He placed a hand on the blond hair, getting a shout of protest, but halting Vil. “Come, I know of something.” Leona murmured, placing a short kiss on Vil's head, this time the prince being the one walking before the other.
Even though it was an extremely short gesture, the kiss had calmed Vil a little. It still baffled him how gentle Leona was when there was no one else around. This whole vacation they've been going to bed at the same time, and every time, Vil had arms wrapped around him, holding him in a warm embrace. He always felt a kiss, too. Sometimes on his head, other times on his face or in his neck or on his shoulders. It was always sweet little gestures that he found delightful to bask in. He always woke up earlier than Leona, and despite his attempts being futile, Leona always tried his charm to keep the other in bed just a little longer, just to hold him. Leona did small acts of affection a lot when they were alone, and if they had company, those actions ceased immensely, but he still stayed close to Vil. Despite this somewhat clingy part, Leona still wasn't sappy in the slightest. They hadn't celebrated Valentine, but that was also because Vil isn't that fond of the unnecessary celebration. They also didn't do overly sweet things. They were just normal with a small bite to it from time to time due to their separate personalities. At this point, Vil was certain that he'd seen all of Leona's sides. But that's also what he thought before he found out about this affectionate side, so there probably was more about the prince that he had yet to discover, and he was looking forward to doing so.
Leona led the both of them through the palace until they went through a door that was at the back of the palace, hidden from the public eye. They went outside, and Leona walked to the right until they reached what seemed to be a garage door. Seeing it made Vil raise an eyebrow. Why would the palace have such an ordinary garage? Why would it even have a garage? The palace was surrounded by so much ground that came with the building, surely there'd be enough space to store things both inside and outside of it without a garage?
But when Leona opened the garage, Vil's jaw almost dropped.
A motorcycle stood there, a sports one at that. It was a matte black, but it had matte purple details on the outside of the seat, outside of the windowshield, gas tank, the exhaust and on the inside of the wheels.
Leona walked into the garage, going to a table to the left, picking up something. Then, he grabbed two of the three helmets that were hung to the wall next to the desk, handing one to Vil, who hesitantly got a hold on it. It took just a short moment for it to click in his head. “Wh- Leona! This is yours?!” He exclaimed. “Why didn't you tell me you had a motorcycle?! Don't you know how dangerous it is?”
“It never came to topic.” Leona said with a shrug of his shoulders, ignoring Vil's comment on the danger of the vehicle. “And I know you're not fond of them. But if you want to make it to your shoot on time, put on that helmet and get on.” He took the motorcycle off of it's standard, and pushed it out of the garage. He walked to the front of the palace, parking the motorcycle there and turning to see that Vil had followed him, still holding the helmet. “What? Don't know how to put it on?”
“Of course I know how to put it on.” Vil said defensively. “It's just… dangerous.”
Leona rested his hands against his hips and sighed. Vil has never liked vehicles like these, he knew that. He never told him he had one and a license because of that reason. That, and a prince having both a regular car and a motorbike license was something extremely uncommon, and his brother often tried to stop him from going onto a motorbike. It was disgraceful, according to him. But honestly, Leona didn't care. The biggest reason why he hasn't had a ride on his bike in a while was because he had no access to NRC with vehicles.
“Do you trust me, Vil?”
Vil blinked. “Obviously. Otherwise I wouldn't have met your family.”
He walked over to his lover, taking the helmet back, and helping the model put it on. “Then get on. If you know what you're doing, it's not dangerous at all.” When the helmet was on, he flipped up the shield, showing Vil's purple eyes, which looked back at him with uncertainty. “Just hold onto me, and you'll be fine.” He said with a slight smirk on his face before plopping the shield back down.
He sat down onto the motorcycle, grabbing his phone from a pocket of his pants to look up the studio Vil had to be at, and placed the phone in a holder he had attached to his cycle. He also put on his own helmet, which matched with the bike, took the vehicle off of its standard once again, and placed the key in the keyhole, turning it, starting the vehicle. Toxic purple neon lights made themselves known on the concrete below the motorbike. Leona turned his upper body back to Vil, and patted the space behind him.
Vil sighed, mentally praying for a safe ride, and albeit a little clumsily, managed to get on the bike. He wrapped his arms around Leona's abdomen tightly, the feeling of sitting on the vehicle already making his heart pound. When the engine roared, he couldn't help but hold onto Leona just a little tighter.
Leona's heart was beginning to pound as well, but differently. He couldn't contain the smile that was hidden by his helmet as he let the engine roar, and the feeling of Vil's arms tightening around him was making him more confident, or maybe a little cocky.
He held onto the clutch lever, and started to roll the throttle, slowly releasing the clutch lever as well, causing the bike to start moving. Despite wanting to go fast right away, Leona knew better, and started peacefully. They were just outside of the palace, and this was very likely Vil's first ride on a motorbike, so he shouldn't go full speed first thing. No matter how badly he wanted to go faster than the maximum speed the road allowed, he stayed on the maximum. He basked in the speed, in the bright sky and the sun blazing onto his body. It was perfect weather to go for a ride. He'll have to thank whoever decided to fuck up on the road to make Vil's driver be stuck in traffic later.

When Vil stepped off the motorbike, his legs were trembling slightly, and Leona ended up partially helping him off. However, Vil was quick to get back to himself, removing the helmet from his head and giving it to Leona.
“Good luck. I'll be waiting for you here.” The lion said, getting a silent nod from Vil in return before the model hurried inside of the building the studio that held his shoot was in.
‘Perhaps I drove a little too fast for him.’ crossed Leona's mind, thinking about Vil's silent goodbye. ‘I'll slow it down on the way back.’
While Vil was making his way to the studio, his heart was still beating rather rapidly, and his brain felt like it had been shaken violently. But not necessarily in a bad way. Of course, he still had feared his life on that motorbike, but… part of him had enjoyed the ride. It was weird. He didn't like motorcycles, but the ride hadn't been bad, and he liked how he had to hold onto Leona. Leona also drove fast but carefully, not going in between cars and staying in lanes, holding onto the road’s maximum speed. Also, thanks to Leona he'd made it to his shoot in time. And, a thought he'd never ever say out loud; as much as Vil liked looking at Leona's face, he looked good with that helmet. It made him look absolutely badass… Maybe motorcycles indeed weren't that bad if you knew what you were doing.
When Vil walked outside, he was perfectly on time to see Leona come to a stop where he'd parked his motorbike when he'd brought Vil here. He watched as his beloved removed the helmet from his head, tilted his head up and shook his head a little to let his hair flow nicely, almost like he was in a video clip of a song.
“Went for another ride?” the model asked when he was close enough. He placed a kiss on Leona's cheek, getting a swift one on his mouth in return.
“Yeah.” He got as reply. “Been a while since I last did, so I went for a few rounds.”
“You wanna go on some more?”
“Nah, you probably want to freshen up.” Leona said, getting off his motorbike to grab the helmet he'd stored underneath his seat, seeing that they'd be getting on the road right away.
Vil hummed, accepting the helmet that was given to him. “What if I want to go on a ride? Sunrise City sound good?”
“You, really?” Leona raised an eyebrow, looking as if he wasn't sure whether he had to take Vil's words seriously or not. But seeing the look on his face, he found that he'd better believe it was true. The prince let out an amused scoff. “Had a change of heart about motors?”
“No. You could still get heavily wounded and maybe even die by riding one.” Vil said plainly, fiddling a little with the helmet still in his hands. “But as long as you know what you're doing, it's not as dangerous.”
Leona let out another scoff, which erupted into laughter. It wasn't mocking laughter. It was laughter of amusement and joy. “Alright… hop on, princess. I'll take you on a proper ride.”
Vil put on the helmet, just like Leona did, and then sat on the vehicle behind the prince, once again wrapping his arms around him to keep himself stable. “That's queen to you. Now get this thing started already.”
