imagine a garibaldi merman! levi who's tending to his anemone and coral garden, and has trouble taking care of the sudden onslaught of pesky urchins that are destroying his work! but, coincidentally, through the flow of the current he hears about these weird 'two-legged' creatures who can help him with his problem and he reluctantly goes to find them.
enter in professional diver! reader who was out in the ocean to harvest some urchins to help keep their population low. they heard that they've multiplied immensely since the last time they were in these parts, and they wanted to make extra money.
he was scared at first, but then garibaldi merman! levi shyly leads them to his slowly dying garden, and watches in awe (behind a coral reef) as this odd two-legged fish uses its elongated claws to grab at the urchins (with no sign of pain!?) and hurl them into a net bag, doing what he couldn't do in a day in just a blink of an eye!
the urge to swim up to them tickled at the vertebrae of his aquatic body, with excited chirps and clicks bubbling out from his throat, but the sight of them turning in his direction had him ducking underneath the red corals. he feels the water ripple as they swim away, and there's this weird feeling of disappointment in his belly as he returns to tending to his precious garden.
