I’ve been known as the “gun guy” here on Reddit for a couple of years. I have years of hunting experience and have been part of the US Special Forces for about 5 years now. I’ve been put on leave recently due to an injury, so I’ve had some free time. Ask me anything.

My grandpa is a veteran and my father is a hunter, so i grew up being very comfortable with firearms but it wasn’t until i met my husband that my hobby of guns turned into a lifestyle.

Thinking of purchasing a gun, what do you recommend for a guy who’s never touched a gun before?

It depends on the purpose, I can suggest a lot of beginner-friendly guns each with
different uses. I’m gonna assume you’re talking about concealed carry so I’m gonna
recommend the glock 19. Its the safest option, easily accessible magazines, its a 9mm
So its easy to shoot with. However I recommend going to a shooting range and rent out
different weapons before you make any purchases.
