You weren’t entirely sure if there was something going on between them. They were tactile with one another in a way that suggested more than just brotherhood—small touches, lingering glances, an ease that went beyond camaraderie. Nothing overt, but enough to make you wonder.
And perhaps, foolishly, enough to make you fantasize.
More often than you should.
You knew it was a terrible idea. Knew that indulging those thoughts was dangerous. The last thing you needed was to make things awkward with the people assigned to keep you alive. The security protocols would lift eventually and you’d be able to breathe freely again, to move without a squad of incredibly hot, genetically enhanced soldiers shadowing your every step.
You just hoped that would happen before you did something incredibly, irrevocably stupid.
Because your resolve was hanging on a thread and the only thing holding you back was that you couldn’t possibly choose just one of them.
