Work Text:

Legacy, what is a legacy? It’s planting seeds in a garden you never get to see.

Dearest visitor, welcome to the Hermione Granger Foundation Headquarters!

Established in 2005 in a small office above Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, the Foundation is the brainchild of Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger, nurtured by the vision of a better tomorrow for all magical folk. It was originally called the Malfoy and Granger Muggle Fund and was renamed by Draco Malfoy to honor his wife.

On the first floor you’ll find our reception desk and mini museum, which tells the story of the Foundation’s past, present and future. You’ll also find our in-house bistro Crookshanks’ Corner, which serves some of the best food, coffee and pastries in London! The bistro gives a fresh start to once-incarcerated members of society and at-risk youth, ensuring them a bright future by equipping them with skills, helping them socialize and guaranteeing them a safe future through mentorship and housing programs. In fact, some of the Foundation’s employees started out as baristas and waiters at the bistro.

Out in the back is our moving sculpture garden, which features all kinds of animated creatures. The creatures are charmed to speak and educate our visitors about their own histories and the preservation efforts made by the Foundation. There is also the Community Garden located just in front of the Parkinson Longbottom Greenhouse of Rare Flora. Every weekend, the Foundation hosts a Farmers’ Market, which features fresh harvests, crafts, and homemade treats from our partners in the area.

Up on our mezzanine is the public library and working space open for everyone for all days of the week. The library hosts weekly read-alouds for children ages 3 and up, as well as monthly lectures in various fields like Art, History, Sciences and everything in between, with esteemed experts from both Muggle and Magical backgrounds. The library also houses the partial personal collections of the Foundation’s founders.

The third floor houses the offices of our solicitors, which are available for consultation and legal advice.(IMPORTANT: Should you be in imminent danger, kindly ask our receptionist for “the keys to three,” and you will be taken to this floor for immediate assistance.) This floor also contains our volunteers’ headquarters and conference rooms.

The fourth floor contains our SOGIE center, rehabilitation center, free pharmacy, and Healers’ clinics. Feel free to come in anytime for a consultation. We have Healers ready to help with anything including first aid, out-patient consultations, critical illness, mental and sexual health, among others. The center hosts group therapy three times a week. All you have to do is check the schedule and sign up.

The next three floors contain our continuing education center. Whether you’re looking to add a skill, pursue higher studies or attend a fun class, we can surely find something for you. Some of our most popular classes include Intro to Muggle Society, Cooking the Muggle Way and Technology 101: How to Use Your First Gadget. Our center is accredited to provide education for and administer OWLs, NEWTs, Apparition Licenses, Mastery Units and other examinations. Be sure to grab a class brochure or a college prospectus on your way out.

Finally, our top floor contains our executive offices. There’s also the headquarters for The Quibbler and the Foundation’s in-house publication and newsletter, led by Editor-in-Chief Aurora Weasley. The floor also houses another gallery, detailing the story of the Battle of Hogwarts and the rise of Lord Voldemort, memorializing all those who were lost to an unnecessary war. The gallery also details the love story of Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger, the family they raised and the legacy they built from that one small office in Diagon. Sometimes, I like looking at their photos in the gallery, which neither move nor speak upon their request, and hope that we are doing them proud.

We hope you have enjoyed this tour and look forward to seeing you again, whether as a donor, a visitor, or someone who just wants a good conversation and a great cup of coffee.

Warmest regards,

Lucia Hermione Potter

Foundation President
