Work Text:
Sonic showed Shadow where his true form was, in a crater, to which Shadow scolded him for having a very poor place. So, Sonic mocked back and let him hide that form. Shadow took on that challenge with a glint of his scarlet eyes.
When Sonic entrusted Shadow to hide his rock-form, he didn’t expect half the hiding places. Some... well... he kind of wished he put specific instructions on the hiding places, even though they were the best.
A fucking cave.
Sonic stared blankly at the multi-colored glowing geode, sitting smack-dab in the middle of a mountain-cave, at the tip top, not even open to the outside world. How the fuck did Shadow even know this was here?
“A cave... you hid the Paradox Prism in a cave...”
Shadow crossed his arms and leaned against the rocky entrance, his shadowy form casting long, eerie tendrils across the cave floor. He smirked, clearly amused by Sonic’s growing frustration. “It’s more secure than any place you could have thought of. The Paradox Prism is hidden from any potential threat here. Not even Eggman would dare to search a place like this.”
Sonic glared at the glowing geode, its rainbow-colored light dancing in his eyes like a mockery of his own annoyance. “Yeah, well, it’s not exactly the best place to hide a priceless artifact. This feels like something out of a horror movie, Shadow. I thought you were better than this.”
Shadow’s smirk deepened. “I told you I’d find the most secure place. I didn’t promise you comfort.”
Sonic huffed, pacing around the cavern. “Comfort doesn’t even come into it. It’s about practicality! This place... is a pain to get to, and how are we supposed to get the Prism out of here in an emergency? And what about—"
He stopped mid-sentence when a sharp, high-pitched noise echoed from the back of the cave, cutting through his rant. His ear twitched. "Did you hear that?"
“Relax, Sonic. It’s just the sound of the wind through the tunnels. I told you, this place is perfectly safe.”
“I’m just saying,” Sonic muttered, eyeing the deep shadows that stretched unnervingly across the cave, “I would’ve hidden it somewhere less creepy. Maybe a nice, bright place—like, I dunno—somewhere with a door for easy access?”
Shadow narrowed his eyes. “You’re just upset because this place actually requires effort to reach. And when was the last time you cared about doing things the easy way?”
Sonic opened his mouth to retort, but his words were swallowed by another strange noise. This time, it was louder—a soft thumping sound that made the ground beneath his boots tremble ever so slightly. Sonic froze. His gaze flicked toward Shadow. "Did you hear that?"
Shadow didn’t respond immediately, his sharp eyes scanning the dark cave's mouth. His expression was unreadable, but Sonic could sense the slight shift in his posture.
“...We need to move, now," Shadow said, his voice low and urgent. Without another word, he darted past Sonic, heading deeper into the cave.
Sonic barely had time to react. "What the heck's going on?!"
But Shadow was already gone, vanishing into the dark as Sonic rushed to catch up. The thumping sound grew louder, and it wasn’t just the ground anymore—it was the sound of something moving, something big .
Sonic’s heart raced as he sprinted after Shadow, his mind spinning with questions. What the hell was making that noise? Was it a monster? Some sort of hidden trap?
The thumping continued, each step vibrating through the ground beneath them. The noise wasn’t rhythmic—more like the heavy stomps of something massive and powerful, getting closer with every second. Sonic could feel his pulse quicken, and for once, it wasn’t because of his usual love for a good chase.
"Shadow!" Sonic called out, his voice echoing in the cavern, but the black hedgehog didn't slow. He seemed too focused on something ahead—something Sonic couldn’t see in the blackness.
The walls of the cave narrowed, forcing Sonic to slow down as he maneuvered through the rocky passage. It felt like the cave was alive, shifting with every echo and sound. The air was dense, like something large was moving just out of sight.
Finally, they reached the heart of the cave. Sonic’s eyes widened at the sight before him. The tunnel opened into a vast chamber, its ceiling stretching high above them, covered in shimmering, jagged stalactites. But it wasn’t the beauty of the cave that caught his attention—it was the creature standing in the center of the room.
It was massive, towering, and covered in dark, armored scales. Its eyes glowed a sickly green, and its breath was like a slow, dangerous hiss. The thumping noise had been its steps, each one shaking the ground. It looked like some kind of mutated reptilian beast, with claws sharp enough to rip through steel. Its body was nearly as large as the chamber itself, and it seemed like it had been waiting for them.
Shadow didn’t flinch. He stood tall, his red eyes fixed on the creature with cold, calculating intent.
“Is that...?” Sonic trailed off, eyes wide, taking a step back. “What the heck is that?”
“Just a little... insurance," Shadow replied, his voice low and serious.
“Insurance?” Sonic’s voice cracked in disbelief. “For what?”
“The Paradox Prism.” Shadow’s eyes narrowed. "You didn’t think I’d leave such a valuable artifact unprotected, did you?"
Sonic blinked in shock. "Wait, that thing’s guarding the Prism?!"
The creature let out a deafening roar, shaking the entire cavern. The sound reverberated through Sonic’s bones, making the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. Without warning, the beast lunged toward them, its claws extended.
Sonic’s instincts kicked in. He bolted forward, running in a blur of blue, just narrowly avoiding the creature’s claws as they swiped through the air like giant blades. “Oh, hell no!” he shouted, as he dashed past the beast, narrowly missing the full force of its attack.
Shadow, on the other hand, didn’t move an inch. Instead, he brought his hands together, energy crackling in the air around him. “Chaos Control!”
In an instant, the space around them warped. Time slowed, and the creature froze mid-roar, its massive form suspended in place. Sonic barely kept his balance as the world around him shifted, the colors of the cave bending and twisting.
Sonic blinked in confusion as Shadow calmly walked past the creature, his hands still glowing with chaos energy. “We need to move, Sonic,” Shadow said, his voice calm but urgent. “It won’t stay frozen for long.”
Before Sonic could respond, Shadow dropped his hands, and the world snapped back to its normal state. The beast roared again, but this time, it was off balance, giving Sonic the chance to make his move.
"Got it!" Sonic grinned, a plan already forming in his mind. “Let’s take this thing down!”
The two of them charged at the creature simultaneously, working together with perfect precision. Sonic dodged and weaved between the beast’s strikes, using his speed to confuse and disorient it. Shadow moved with lethal grace, striking at weak points in the creature’s armored hide, his Chaos energy enhancing his blows.
Despite their combined efforts, the creature’s thick armor seemed unbreakable. Each strike made a dent, but it didn’t seem to slow the beast down much. The chamber quaked with each of its movements.
“We need to get it to move!” Sonic shouted, his frustration growing as he zipped around the creature, trying to find an opening.
Shadow nodded, his expression unreadable. “You distract it. I’ll deal with the rest.”
Sonic didn’t question it. He shot forward, his speed blurring the air around him, pulling the creature’s attention away from Shadow. As it lunged at him, Sonic grinned, narrowly evading its claws once again.
Meanwhile, Shadow’s eyes glinted with focus as he drew upon the full extent of his Chaos powers. The air thickened with energy, crackling and sparking with raw force. With a swift movement, Shadow raised his hand, and the ground beneath the creature shattered.
A massive surge of Chaos energy erupted, engulfing the creature in an intense, focused blast of power. The creature screeched in pain as it staggered back, finally weakening under the onslaught.
Sonic’s eyes widened as the creature faltered. “Whoa… That did it! Nice job, Shadow!”
The beast roared one last time before collapsing, its body crumbling to the floor with a heavy thud. The ground shook as its massive form hit the stone, and for a moment, the cave was eerily silent.
Sonic let out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding. “Alright, that was a little more intense than I was expecting…”
Shadow, his expression cool as ever, walked over to the fallen creature and inspected it briefly. “Now, we can retrieve the Prism.”
“Yeah…” Sonic said, giving a nervous chuckle. “Let’s not do that again. Next time, maybe a door ?”
Shadow didn’t respond, his eyes already focused on the Paradox Prism, still glowing ominously in the center of the cave. But something about its light seemed even more foreboding now.
The danger wasn’t over—not by a long shot.
How the fuck did Shadow get it in a tree?!
“What is your obsession and putting me in strange ass places?!” Sonic shouted, staring up at where his Prism form was, somehow, inside a tree. Fucking palm trees.
Shadow stood beneath the towering palm tree, his gaze sharp and unwavering, as if he expected to see Sonic’s frustration explode any second now. Sonic’s arms were crossed over his chest, and he stared up at the Paradox Prism, now lodged securely in the crown of the tree, taunting him from above.
“How... did you even get it up there?!” Sonic demanded, his voice a mixture of disbelief and frustration. “What’s next, are you gonna hide it on top of a volcano or in the ocean or something?!”
Shadow’s smirk didn’t waver. “It’s safe up there. You should thank me, Sonic. I’m making sure no one will stumble upon it easily.” His eyes gleamed with a dark amusement. “Not even you could reach it that quickly, could you?”
Sonic gritted his teeth, knowing Shadow was right. The idea of trying to climb up the palm tree was one thing, but the absurdity of it was getting under his skin. He could run circles around anything, but this? This was a whole new level of annoyance.
“I swear, Shadow,” Sonic muttered, “You’re lucky I don’t just grab that Prism and take it myself.”
Shadow cocked an eyebrow, unfazed. “You wouldn’t dare.”
“Oh yeah?” Sonic smirked, rolling his shoulders as he got into a runner’s stance. “Watch me.”
With that, Sonic took off, the air around him buzzing as his speed blurred the world into a whirl of colors. He approached the palm tree, his hand reaching out to grab the base of the trunk, planning on scaling it like a pro. But as he neared, Shadow’s voice echoed from below, a simple, yet effective word.
“Chaos Control.”
Time around Sonic bent and twisted, forcing him to come to a stop mid-air, his hand just inches from the tree trunk. His body hovered for a moment, suspended in the air as if everything had turned into a slow-motion nightmare. He glanced back toward Shadow, who was standing calmly beneath the tree, his crimson eyes meeting Sonic’s with unyielding confidence.
“Not so fast,” Shadow said, his voice smooth and steady. “You didn’t think I’d leave something as important as the Prism just hanging around in a tree, did you?”
Sonic’s frustration boiled over. “You gotta be kidding me!” He hung there in mid-air for another moment, then dropped unceremoniously to the ground with an irritated grunt.
Shadow chuckled under his breath, seemingly enjoying Sonic’s suffering. “You wanted practical, didn’t you? This is as practical as it gets.”
Sonic shot him a look. “Yeah, sure. Let’s see you get it out of the tree without a ladder. Or better yet, a giant net.”
Without warning, Shadow shifted his stance and raised his hand, causing the Prism to slowly lift out of the tree, as if it was weightless. Sonic blinked in surprise. “Wait, you can do that?”
“Chaos energy, Sonic,” Shadow replied, his tone deadpan. “It’s not just for flashy combat moves.”
Sonic let out a low whistle. “Man, you really don’t leave anything to chance, huh?”
Shadow smirked again, clearly pleased with the results. “You didn’t think I’d just hide it and forget about it, did you?”
Sonic couldn’t help but smile, the absurdity of the situation sinking in. He crossed his arms and leaned against the trunk of the palm tree. “Okay, okay, I get it. You’re the master of weird hiding spots and Chaos energy. Just... no more trees, okay? Please.”
Shadow finally allowed the Paradox Prism to hover down into Sonic’s hand. “Deal. But next time... I’ll find something even better.”
Sonic groaned. “No more ‘better’—just keep it simple. Somewhere I can actually get to without breaking a sweat, yeah?”
“You’ll have to trust me,” Shadow replied cryptically, his eyes narrowing with mischief. “Sometimes the best hiding spots aren’t meant to be easy.”
Sonic rolled his eyes. “That’s it. You’re officially the worst. Next time, I’m hiding the Prism myself.”
Shadow just chuckled, clearly enjoying the fact that Sonic would never win the battle of “best hiding spots.” The two stood in silence for a moment, but the air between them was strangely lighter now, despite the absurdity of it all.
“Let’s just get back to the others,” Sonic said after a pause, shaking his head as he turned to walk away. “We’re done here.”
Shadow gave him a single nod, turning to follow. “For now, Sonic. For now.”
As they left the strange palm tree behind, Sonic couldn’t shake the feeling that this wouldn’t be the last time Shadow found a ridiculous hiding place for the Paradox Prism. But for once, he wasn’t entirely mad about it—because no matter how frustrating it was, it was Shadow’s way of looking out for them. And somehow, that made it all worth it.
He’s kidding right? The fucking OCEAN?!
“You hate me, huh,” Sonic sighed, rubbing the bridge of his muzzle.
Shadow was standing at the edge of the water, arms crossed, his crimson eyes scanning the vast expanse of the ocean with a look of cold determination. Sonic’s gaze followed, and then quickly darted to the horizon where the endless stretch of waves crashed against the shore.
“No way,” Sonic muttered, his tone a mix of disbelief and exhaustion. “You didn’t actually put it in the ocean, did you?”
Shadow’s smirk never faltered. “Why not? It’s secure, hidden deep beneath the water. No one’s going to find it there, especially not Eggman.”
Sonic threw his hands up in exasperation. “Are you trying to kill me? I can't just swim down there and grab it! And if that Prism’s really as important as you say, we can’t risk it being lost at sea.”
“Relax, Sonic,” Shadow said, his voice laced with amusement. “I had a very specific location in mind. The Paradox Prism’s been sealed inside a cavern beneath the ocean’s surface, just outside the reach of anything that could interfere. I’m certain it’s more secure than anything you can imagine.”
Sonic’s eyes narrowed. “You really are out to get me with this, huh?” he grumbled. “I mean, I can’t even breathe underwater for long, and I’m not exactly fond of drowning. So, how do you expect us to get it back?”
Shadow smirked again, clearly enjoying the situation more than Sonic was. “That's why you’re here, isn't it? I knew you'd find a way.”
Sonic groaned. "A way ? Dude, do you even hear yourself? We’re standing on the shore, and you’re telling me there's a magical underwater cave with an artifact in it. This is some next-level nonsense."
“Oh, you’ll manage, Sonic,” Shadow said, his smirk turning into something more knowing, a slight flicker of confidence in his voice. “And besides... you have your tricks too, don't you?”
Sonic just stared at him for a moment, then gritted his teeth. “Fine, fine . But after this, I swear if you hide that Prism in a volcano or something equally ridiculous, I’m leaving it to you to deal with it. No more of this 'weird' hiding nonsense. Understood?”
Shadow just chuckled darkly. “I don’t make promises I can’t keep.”
Sonic's eyes twitched. He opened his mouth to fire back, but then he noticed something—a shimmer in the water. The ocean was calm, almost unnervingly so, and the sun reflected off the surface with just enough light to make it look like there was something there .
“You’re serious…” Sonic muttered.
Shadow didn’t answer, only gestured toward the glimmering point far off in the distance. “There. That’s where it’s buried.”
Sonic, taking a deep breath and steeling himself for the inevitable, prepared for what was about to happen. He looked at Shadow, who was already at the ready, seemingly unaffected by the thought of the ocean’s dark depths.
“Alright, let’s get this over with,” Sonic sighed. Without waiting for any more hesitation, he took off toward the water, kicking up sand in his wake.
Shadow followed, but this time, instead of running, he was walking at a much slower pace, his gaze fixed on Sonic’s retreating figure. “I’ll be right behind you,” Shadow muttered under his breath, his tone carrying a strange amount of intent.
“Right behind me?” Sonic called back, his voice strained as he dived into the water. “You better be. I’m not swimming down there by myself!”
Shadow’s smirk didn’t vanish. “You won’t be alone, Sonic. Don’t worry.”
And with that, Sonic disappeared beneath the waves.
The chill of the ocean surrounded him immediately, but his training kicked in. He’d done this before—swam through deep, cold water, chased by danger or simply for the thrill of the challenge. But this? This felt different. The weight of the ocean pressing down on him felt more oppressive than usual. There was something about this mission that made Sonic feel like he was diving into more than just water—it felt like he was diving into the unknown.
His breath quickened, but Sonic pressed on, following the glimmer of light as it shimmered deeper into the ocean’s depths.
Suddenly, something grabbed his leg.
Sonic gasped, twisting in the water to see a long, serpentine shape coiling around his ankle. His pulse shot through the roof as his eyes shot down toward the creature—a massive eel, its body glowing faintly, the sheer size of it nearly too much for him to comprehend. Its eyes glinted like the ocean’s reflection.
"Not the time!" Sonic gritted his teeth as he shot forward, pulling his leg free from the creature’s vice-like grip.
Above, Shadow had already summoned his Chaos energy, standing on the shore and scanning the waters with sharp focus.
“You’ll need to move faster, Sonic,” Shadow muttered to himself, sensing the danger just beneath the surface. "The ocean’s full of things like that."
But Sonic wasn’t backing down. His eyes flared with determination as he shot forward, toward the cavern below, the creature’s glowing form just a blur as he swam with incredible speed.
He didn’t stop. No way was he going to let anything slow him down now.
As Sonic neared the cavern’s entrance, the light from the Prism illuminated the water, casting an eerie glow. The closer he got, the more the water seemed to pulse with energy. He could feel it, that unsettling sensation creeping under his skin.
The Prism was close. So close.
But just as Sonic was about to reach the cavern's mouth, the eel returned, barreling toward him with the full force of its body. This time, Sonic wasn’t quick enough to dodge.
And for the first time, he felt the pressure of the sea drag him down.
But then, a blast of energy shot past him, hitting the creature square in the face. The eel recoiled, thrashing as its glowing eyes flicked toward the source of the attack. Shadow, standing at the shore’s edge, had extended his hand, his Chaos powers sending shockwaves through the water.
“Move,” Shadow commanded.
Sonic gritted his teeth, taking one last look at the Prism in the depths, before launching himself forward, tearing through the water faster than he ever had before. The eel attempted to follow, but its speed was nothing compared to Sonic’s.
Sonic, the Paradox Prism now in hand, broke through the surface, taking in a huge breath as he climbed onto the shore.
“Don’t do that again,” Sonic said, panting as he dropped to his knees, exhausted but victorious. "The ocean sucks. Seriously, next time, just a nice, normal tree. Please."
Shadow stepped over to him, his expression unchanged as he took the Prism from Sonic’s hand. “No promises.”
Sonic let out a long sigh. “That’s it. I’m hiding the Prism next time. Somewhere safe. And dry.”
Shadow just chuckled softly, the corners of his mouth twitching up. "We'll see about that, Sonic."
And for the first time in what felt like forever, Sonic couldn’t help but smile—because even though Shadow's methods were insane, they always managed to get the job done.
Sonic hid the Prism in plain sight; just inside the loop-de-loop.
Sonic stood at the top of the loop-de-loop, his arms crossed and a smug grin on his face as he watched Shadow approach from behind. The wind whipped through his quills, and for the first time in what felt like forever, he actually felt like he had the upper hand.
"Well?" Sonic called down to Shadow, his voice light and almost playful. "What do you think of this spot? You can’t possibly top a loop-de-loop. It’s perfect. No one would expect it to be right here in plain sight."
Shadow’s crimson eyes narrowed as he surveyed the familiar spot. He looked up at the loop, his expression unreadable. His gaze briefly flicked to Sonic, who was clearly trying to hide his growing pride.
"You think hiding it here will keep it safe?" Shadow asked, his voice cool and skeptical. "Anyone who sees this loop-de-loop can see the Prism, Sonic. It’s too obvious."
Sonic scoffed and let out a chuckle. "Exactly. No one’s going to bother looking for it here! They’ll just assume it’s part of the track, part of the show. And guess what? They’d be right! It's so out in the open that it’s actually hidden. You’re all about complicated hiding places, but this time? I’m going with the good ol' simplest approach."
Shadow stood silent for a moment, clearly thinking. Then, after a pause, he walked forward and gave the loop a skeptical glance before shaking his head.
"You’re not wrong," Shadow admitted reluctantly. "It is an unconventional choice. But I still think it’s a risky move."
"Oh, come on!" Sonic grinned wider, crossing his arms. "I bet you never saw this one coming. Sure, it’s not buried under mountains of rock or hidden in some creepy cave or stuck in the depths of the ocean, but I think it works. What’s better than a spot that’s literally right under everyone’s nose?"
Shadow eyed the loop carefully, then slowly walked up to it, examining the area from every angle. He raised an eyebrow, clearly pondering it. Sonic’s grin only widened as he watched Shadow’s hesitation.
"Alright, fine," Shadow finally said, the hint of a smirk creeping up on his face. "It’s... different. But I’m not convinced it’ll stay safe here for long."
Sonic laughed and jogged up the side of the loop. "You’re just mad I outsmarted you for once! This place is perfect, no one’s going to think to look for the Prism here. You had your crazy, complicated spots, and I’ve got my simplicity . This is genius, man!"
"Yeah, yeah," Shadow muttered, but his tone didn’t sound as dismissive anymore. "I’ll admit, it’s... clever. But don’t get too comfortable. We’ll see if your 'genius' spot holds up when the time comes."
Sonic couldn’t help but laugh. "You’re always so serious, Shadow. Lighten up! This is the spot! You should take a page out of my book and stop overthinking everything."
Shadow turned away and crossed his arms, still looking at the loop but not responding. His silence didn’t exactly mean he agreed, but it wasn’t the usual scowl either. Sonic could tell he was begrudgingly admitting that, just maybe, Sonic’s plan was better than the others—at least for now.
"So," Sonic continued, pushing his luck, "What’s next? I’m thinking a nice, peaceful day at the beach. No monsters. No caves. No oceans. Just some good old relaxation. You down?"
Shadow shot him a look, his eyes narrowing slightly. "You’ll never stop with your ridiculous ideas, will you?"
Sonic grinned. "Probably not."
And for once, they stood there, together in their odd camaraderie, as the sun glinted off the Paradox Prism hidden in plain sight, inside the loop-de-loop.
They chose the hiding place together.
Inside a large mountain, at the top, where the entrance was too small for any human but big enough for them to squeeze through.
The mountain loomed in front of them, its jagged peaks cutting through the sky, almost as if they were daring anyone to try and reach its summit. Sonic and Shadow stood at its base, both with a sense of quiet determination in their eyes. After everything they had been through, they had finally agreed on a new hiding spot—one that combined the security of a natural barrier with the convenience of a place only they could access.
"Alright, so here it is," Sonic said, gesturing upward with a dramatic flair. "Not too bad, right?"
Shadow, however, didn’t look particularly impressed. His crimson gaze remained locked on the entrance—the narrow crack in the mountain’s side that would just barely fit them both.
"You’re sure this is the best option?" Shadow asked, his voice laced with a hint of skepticism. "It’s not exactly the most ideal place. It’s small, isolated, and what if someone finds it? The entrance is obvious."
Sonic shot him a sideways grin, a twinkle in his eyes. "Exactly. The only way in is through that tiny crack, and who’s gonna guess that something so important is hidden right there in plain sight? Besides, it’s high up. No one’s gonna just stroll up here looking for it."
Shadow remained silent for a moment, his eyes scanning the mountain again. After a brief pause, he nodded. "I suppose... It could work."
The two of them stepped forward, Shadow leading the way as they squeezed through the narrow gap. Sonic, always the optimist, followed with ease, though not without a small, playful complaint.
"I’m just saying, if this was a race, you’d have to carry me up," Sonic teased, his voice echoing slightly in the narrow tunnel.
Shadow shot him a look over his shoulder. "Keep talking like that, and you’ll be walking the rest of the way yourself."
The air inside the mountain was cool and crisp, the scent of stone and earth heavy in the air. They made their way deeper, the walls of the mountain closing in around them until they reached the heart of the cavern. There, amidst the craggy rock formations and faint glow of moss, lay a natural alcove—a perfect hiding spot.
Sonic stood in front of it, nodding approvingly. "This is it. This is perfect. Hidden but accessible, secure but not too obvious."
Shadow crossed his arms, looking around with his usual critical eye. "I’ll admit, it’s not as bad as I thought. But we still need to be careful. Not even you can outrun every threat, Sonic. We’ll need to keep an eye on this place."
Sonic smiled, his usual confidence radiating from him. "Don’t worry. We’ve got this."
As they set the Paradox Prism carefully into place in the center of the alcove, Sonic couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. They had found a balance between his simple, unconventional hiding spots and Shadow’s more complex plans. It was a rare moment of cooperation between them, but one that felt right.
"We did it," Sonic said, stepping back. "Now, we can finally relax. No more oceans, no more weird caves. Just us. And the Prism. Safe and sound."
Shadow nodded once, turning to face the entrance of the cavern. "We’ll see how long that lasts."
Sonic chuckled, glancing at his partner. "Always the pessimist, huh? Well, when the Prism’s still safe in a few months, I’ll say I told you so."
"Don’t count your loops before they’re completed," Shadow replied, smirking slightly as he walked back toward the entrance. "Let’s just make sure we’re ready for whatever comes next."
Sonic followed, a playful grin on his face. "Yeah, yeah, always prepared. Let’s just hope next time it's something more fun than ‘hide and seek,’ huh?"
As they exited the mountain, leaving the Paradox Prism behind, the world around them felt a little more peaceful. For once, they had a place they could both agree on. And while the future might hold more challenges, for now, there was a quiet sense of victory. And for Sonic and Shadow, that was enough.
