Summary:

Colin did something wrong and now he's a crying, sobbing mess. Will Penelope ever forgive him?

Notes:

Written for 2025 Honeymakers Challenge
Prompt: Drama Queen

----

I actually had a lot of fun writing this even though this was the hardest one for me this week. I had to write, delete and rewrite a lot but I'm sooo happy having Lady Kate The Great as my beta, she saved the ending (and my ass) in this one 😍

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

“I can’t believe I’m saying this,” Anthony mumbled under his breath. “Colin please, I beg of you, eat something!”

“No, I won’t! Not until Penelope comes here and tells me she forgives me!” pouted 11-year-old Colin.

You see, he and his 9-year-old girlfriend, Penelope, fought because he thought she was cheating on him, made a huge scene and they haven’t spoken for a week, hence the hunger strike.

You’d like that wouldn’t you?

Unfortunately, you need to add 20 to both their ages and some more details. Colin, a 31-year-old-man-child, saw Penelope hugging her ex and made a public scene, causing Penelope to lose the money that’ll come from said ex/wealthy investor for her new play. She kicked Colin out and his dramatic ass has been stuck to Anthony’s couch for a week.

“Why would she come here arsehole, you’re the one in the wrong!”

“Because I’m dying!” Colin cried and just like clockwork, someone rang the bell.

Kate answered and Penelope came in, hurrying to Colin’s side. “Oh baby, Kate called and told me you’re not eating anything. Are you okay?”

“I am now.” Colin said, wiping away his tears.

The couple was exchanging apologies and hugging when little Edmund came in “Uncle Colin! Your doctor said you only have 4 months left to live!”

“Change of plans, buddy.” Colin muttered at his nephew, handing him 10 quids like he promised.

This fic was almost baby Polin again but I decided the best Drama-Queen-Colin is the Adult-Drama-Queen-Colin™
