Sam grabbed the muffins he had been preparing and walked into their bedroom. He could’ve sworn he was quiet but as he entered the room Bucky was already awake, which was not how Sam left him, and was staring straight at him. He looked very tired and honestly a little upset about being woken up, but gave Sam an affectionate smile regardless. “Sorry, were you planning something? I can go back to bed and pretend to be surprised.” He suggested sarcastically. “Ya you should’ve seen it. I was gonna do this big, grand gesture and you would’ve loved it, too bad you woke up,” Sam replied as he entered the room. “Happy birthday though, I wanted to celebrate it since I know you probably haven’t in a while, although this might be a bit underwhelming.” He said, offering the muffins to Bucky.
He sat down next to him and gestured towards the candles. “I didn’t have one hundred and eight candles for your prehistoric ass so two will have to do,” he said. “Do you seriously expect me to blow those out?” Bucky challenged. “Yes, actually, and I expect you to make a wish as well.” Bucky rolled his eyes, but still obliged. Sam smiled, satisfied, and turned on the TV as Bucky ate the muffins. He scrolled through the channels but there wasn’t much on that interested him so he quickly decided watching Bucky eat was more enjoyable. “Thank you, these are actually pretty good.”
“I’m glad you liked those because I have more gifts.” “Oh really?” Bucky asked. “Ya you’re gonna love it, I saw it and I know you like this kind of thing so I figured it’d be perfect.” Sam explained as he grabbed a box from the closet. It was the colors of Sam’s suit and had a white bow on top. It was fairly small and wasn’t very noisy. Bucky had a few guesses, however he quickly realized none of them were close. “Are you kidding me? This is you.” He said, laughing as he pulled the present out of the box. He was staring at a Captain America doll. It was about nine inches tall and was a scarily accurate stuffed toy of Sam. “So? Do you like it?” Sam asked. “Ya, ya I love it actually, he’s very cute,” he replied.
