Work Text:

Wedding Cake Cookie fixed the little ornament on her counter, the baby pink glass wedding dress, setting it so it faced outwards rather than to the side. Baby pink flowers and other sweet treats adorned the unit, giving it a relaxing vibe. Her computer chimed with a notification, interrupting her moment of peace.

“I wonder what it is?” She asked herself, opening the computer screen to see what the notification was.

It was a message from her website. It read, “Hello. I’m Black Forest Cookie and I’d like to plan a wedding like no other. It’s going to be so special for Them! Mind if I come by at 3 o’clock today? Thanks.”

Wedding Cake Cookie replied, “Sure, come on by. I’m excited to know what you have in mind!”

She looked at the clock on her wall, seeing that it was 2:40 PM. Just twenty minutes before her new customer would arrive.

~~

The twenty minutes went very slowly, Wedding Cake Cookie filled with anticipation of a new customer. Black Forest Cookie opened the unit’s door at 3 o’clock sharp.

“Is this the-” she started, before looking around at the light pink surroundings and realizing that she was in the right place.

Wedding Cake Cookie’s eyes widened slightly as she took in the sight of the cookie who just entered. Her dark, smooth chocolate hair that seemed to shine with the bright lights of the unit, and her eyes that seemed to hold a deep, dark mysteriousness. How could she have fallen for her, despite only having seen her for a few seconds? It was just a silly crush, she was sure. Besides, she can’t fall in love with cookies who are about to get married, that’s ridiculous!

“Welcome, you must be Black Forest Cookie,” she greeted, trying not to sound too nervous.

“That’s me, thank you,” she replied.

“You said you wanted ‘to plan a wedding like no other’ is that so?” Wedding Cake Cookie asked.

“Yes,” she nodded, approaching the counter. Wedding Cake Cookie took notice of the way her hair bounced slightly when she did.

“What do you have in mind?” She asked, leaning on the counter.

“Well, the wedding is for me… and,” Black Forest Cookie hesitated.

“Well? For who?” Wedding Cookie asked, curiously.

“For Them,” she responded.

“Who’s ‘Them’?”

“T-the… the Witch, our Godly Creator,” Black Forest Cookie said, almost expecting backlash.

“Oh? That’s interesting, well, we should get to planning right away, right?” Wedding Cake Cookie said, slightly disappointed.

“Sure,” Black Forest Cookie said.

~~

Wedding Cake Cookie put another pin into Black Forest Cookie’s wedding dress, trying to hold two pieces of fabric together. It hurt for Black Forest Cookie to admit it, but she was getting attached to Wedding Cake Cookie. She wondered where her commitment to Them went.

“Ow!” She exclaimed, as another pin pierced into her doughy skin slightly, flinching.

“My sincere apologies,” Wedding Cake Cookie said with an apologetic tone.

“That’s okay,” she replied.

“Here, I’m almost done,” Wedding Cake Cookie said, standing up and looking at Black Forest Cookie with her dress. “Beautiful.”

“What?!” She asked, shocked.

“I didn’t mean it like that,” Wedding Cake Cookie said, smiling brighter than the sun, her dress bouncing slightly, just like Black Forest Cookie’s hair.

Why is she so pretty? Black Forest Cookie thought. Why am I thinking like this, my wedding’s soon!

“Looks good to me, you can start choosing the veil if you would like,” Wedding Cake Cookie offered.

“Sure, thank you,” Black Forest Cookie said, nodding. Oh, how much she loved seeing her do that.

~~

Black Forest Cookie was nervous. The wedding ceremony was just about to happen, and she was more nervous than ever. She knew Wedding Cake Cookie would be probably sitting in the front pew, watching her with tears in her eyes as she recited her vows. The same cookie she had grown attached to over the past few months.

She adjusted her dress and veil one last time, taking her cherries and cream bouquet in her hands, and looking through the mirror. She saw a cookie with dark chocolate skin and smooth kept hair. But something wasn’t right.

Maybe, it was the fact that she had fallen out of love with the Godly Creators, instead, moving on to Wedding Cake Cookie. She kept that theory in her mind for now.

Then, she heard a knock come from the door.

“Come in!” She told whoever was on the other side.

The door opened, giving way to Wedding Cake Cookie. She stepped inside, silently concluding that it wasn’t just a silly crush, no, it was definitely something more by now.

Black Forest Cookie’s face flushed slightly, giving way to her true emotions.

“I should’ve told you earlier, but I’m calling off the wedding,” She said, getting emotional.

“Why?” Wedding Cake Cookie asked, sounding more disappointed than mad.

“I don’t think I love Them anymore, I love… I love you.”

Wedding Cake Cookie approached her, taking her hands and looking into her eyes. Her gaze practically bore into Black Forest Cookie’s as she leaned in, giving her a kiss. This kiss wasn’t chaste, however, it was full of unspoken words and feelings.

When they pulled away, Wedding Cake Cookie smiled and said, “I’ll help you tell everyone. They might be disappointed, but from experience, you can’t marry someone you don’t love.”
