Work Text:
Two bodies fall to the floor
Both alive and breathing.
Blade crashes against gauntlet,
Boisterous laughter echoes in the arena
For hours metal clashes, the sound clear and true.
No wins or losses,
An interminable tie continues on.
Wine follows as blades are sheathed
Red mixes with white, violence tempered by companionship.
Two bodies fall to the floor
Both alive and breathing.
Hands paw at bare skin
Armor falls willingly.
Vulnerability embraced as two merge into one.
A last goodbye, etched in flesh and sinew
A parting kiss, brief with the weight of eternity.
Even Aquila's gaze turns away for a moment,
The sight, one that's all too familiar.
Two bodies fall to the floor
One dead and no longer breathing.
The son of Gorgo shall be crowned in blood,
The fates chant demandingly.
A stab through the back they warn,
A familiar blade glints, sharp and true.
No armor protects him from love's blade,
He drives it through his own flesh
Willingly.
Blood flows freely over pale skin and red ink,
Staining blue with flecks of gold.
In Elysium’s arms the lion roars a final time
The sound at once regretful and willing.
Two bodies fall to the floor
Only one alive and breathing.
Heavy rain
Like firecrackers in deathly silence.
Boisterous laughter cut short by the waves and tide.
The moon hangs alone in the dark sky once more
The remains of stars twinkle
Alongside a shattered sun.
Eternal night falls on a kingless Kremnos
And upon a hero's heart a familiar veil rests.
T10. A bond of trust
Now lies shattered and bleeding.
Drowned under tide and metal, the moon loses its light.
One body continues on
Not alive
but breathing.
