It was cold in Lust that night.
V1 didn't particularly care. All of the noises had been too much for their processors, anyway. The silence was nice. The chill was nice, too- not that they could feel it, nessicarily, but they did know it kept their machinery cool, like having a clear head from breathing fresh air. It was also nearly silent. Where there had once been screams, crumbling buildings, shattering glass, and loud stomps, there was nothing but the occasional thrum of extra electricity and trickling of water.
It was desolate. Cold and empty with no life.
But inside of an apartment was a different story. It was still relatively quiet, only broken by the soft whirring of V1's fans and Gabriel's quiet breathing, and it was so warm. So, so incredibly warm, borderline overheating. The angel and the machine were under the blanket, chests pressed up together as close as they could- as if Gabriel's organic heart and V1's artificial one were trying to cuddle close as well. Gabriel's gray wings- they lost their glow after Gabriel fell- were wrapped around V1, forcing them closer.
It was heaven.
V1 couldn't sleep. That much was obvious. But Gabriel needed to now, and he always complained about being frigid even under several plush blankets. So V1 was willing to lay with him for hours at a time, even though that time could be used more eff-

In the meantime of being trapped by the large cuddlebug, V1 would take to admiring Gabriel. It was odd- V1 wasn't made to admire. Humans did that enough. But V1 couldn't help but want to observe- no- study?- no- examine? Maybe. Examine Gabriel. They couldn't feel textures, but they could imagine them.
Gabriel had smooth, gorgeous onyx skin broken up occasionally by darker scars and gold markings all over. V1 was enraptured by the look, how it looked like plastic but had so much more give. V1 could squish and poke and there wouldn't be a single sound. It was fascinating.
V1 was currently pulling at the flesh with one of their hands, right where the neck met the shoulder. It was surprisingly stretchy, but it had its limit. V1 pulled it as far as it could go, before releasing it. They noticed a tiny nick- a small, beading dot of blood, and whirred quietly in discontent. They decided to move to another spot, prodding the throat and studying the minute movements as Gabriel breathed. They must have jabbed a bit too hard, because Gabriel jolted and brought a hand to his neck.
"...good morning, machine." He hummed, mirth lining his groggy voice. V1 just stared at him, before nuzzling its head against Gabriel's helmet. It earned a chuckle from the archangel, who wrapped back around V1.
"Poking me again, hm?"
V1 didn't bother responding besides from speeding up their fans. Gabriel huffed fondly in response, burying the face of his helmet in V1's neck.
"I love you, machine." He whispered, barely audible behind the helmet.

[I LOVE YOU TOO] crackled V1's voicebox. They swore they saw Gabriel's feathers puff up.
