   What if the gun to Takemichi's head actually fired during the fight with Tenjiku?

   He screamed. Oh god, he screamed.
   I felt strands of hair falling on my face. Was he pulling on his hair?
   “Wake up. Wake up, Takemitchy. Wake up…”

   Takemichi thinks that he is to blame for his failures in every timeline and the deaths that have resulted. He's convinced himself that he is better off dead.

   The gang, especially Mikey, has been trying to cheer him up, aware of the change in their crybaby hero.

   But by the time Mikey arrives at Yokohama's seventh pier, it's already too late.
