Yo what’s going on guys? Today I’m reading the newest updated Reddit stories and we’re starting off with this story that got a new update after 3 years and involves a couple of YouTubers, maybe you know them, Skeppy and Badboyhalo!
I don’t know about you guys but I used to watch Skeppy’s Minecraft trolling videos when I was a kid so I’m excited to get into this. I’m live right here on YouTube when I record so subscribe and join the chat to see my live reaction to these crazy stories.
Without further ado, let’s get into this. So, it looks like this user named ‘skephalofan141414’ posted this timeline of events to best of Reddit updates, including archived posts that are now deleted. Here’s what they wrote:
‘It all started with a now deleted Reddit post by BadBoyHalo on a burner account. I didn’t believe that this was BBH at first, but I still saved this post just in case.’
Wow, so this would’ve been lost media without this super fan, huh? Is this BadBoyHalo, guys? We’re going to find out.
BadBoyHalo— god, that’s a mouthful. What’s his name, chat? Do people call him Bad Boy? Halo? There’s no way he’s just BadBoyHalo all the time. Let’s see… Bad? That’s it? Oh, I guess he goes by a lot of names… No, I’m not calling him Darryl, chat. I like Bad the most so we’re sticking with that. Where was I? Right, okay.
Bad is the one who wrote this post back in 2022, according to skephalofan. On r/relationshipadvice? This is getting spicy guys.
‘My, 27 male, best friend, 22 male, made a song about me and I don’t know how to feel about it.’
Hmm… chat this might be a little controversial so I’ll open it to you guys first how do y’all feel about that age gap? 5 years is a bit of a middle ground, I’d say… ‘It’s a little weird’? Maybe, maybe… ‘This is super normal’? Me personally, they’re both adults with similar careers so there isn’t much of a power dynamic here. Let’s keep reading.

Okay so they were online friends at 18 and 23? That’s pretty normal, chat. I feel like you can make an argument about the age gap if it was in real life, like most of our other Reddit stories, but here it’s fine, right? ‘Still weird’? ‘I have age gap friendships bigger than this’ Yeah I knew you guys were going to be pretty split about this, but I think it’s normal. Let’s move on.

Chat, you ever have an anniversary with a best friend? A real bro moment right here. No, sorry, but that’s sweet if not a little obvious that they have a thing for each other.
‘We’ve half heartedly been making plans to meet up for the past few years. What can I say? I don’t like leaving the house and never really had the urge to meet any of my online friends. I’d argue that you could have a meaningful relationship with someone and never meet them irl. Anyways, I never took these conversations too seriously. I would always say I’m not ready yet, it’s too close to the holidays, who’s going to take care of my dog? The one time we did have concrete plans I was sick with covid and I had a long recovery. And we just never followed up with a reschedule.’
On the one hand, I’m also kind of a homebody. But years dude? Does he have a job outside of content creation to be that busy? That’s a little ridiculous, oh shit wait. This would’ve been like 2021. Airports were awful that year… ‘He doesn’t have another job that we know of.’ ‘He was a special ed assistant once.’ Interesting.

There’s another lyric that says I’m pushing him away and if I’m hiding something? This part I have to quote verbatim because it’s the part I understand the least.’
Wait wait wait before we move on, thank you guys so much for the 2 thousand viewers! Holy shit this is the most I’ve ever had. Where did y’all come from, skephalo nation? I still need to get through this post. We just learned that Skeppy wrote a diss track about Bad but there’s also something else going on.

Woah… I don’t know about you guys but that shit has me blushing. No, actually. Can y’all see that on the webcam? What the fuck. And this is real? I guess it’s as real as anything else on the internet… ‘Real.’ ‘Skephalo real.’ ‘It’s real’? Alright if you guys say so.
‘And that’s how it ends. Meanwhile, I had no clue my friend was having this type of conflicting feelings about me. Or how much us meeting up meant to him. Yeah maybe we’d go from talking every day to messaging each other only semi frequently but that’s just the evolution of a friendship right? We were both getting busier as our respective careers became more time-consuming but that’s nobody’s fault, is it? I know I should apologize to him for never taking his requests for us to meetup too seriously but I think there’s something else under the surface.
Does he want to confess to me? I keep going back to that lyric, “I can’t really say my true intentions.” He’s pretty much ripped his heart out on this song but there’s /one/ thing he can’t say to me? Does it have to do with him wanting to preserve our friendship, that it’ll be strained in some way if he confesses? I don’t know what gives him that impression, a lot of our friends are lgbt+. Heck, a lot of them make jokes that we like each other already. Anyways, there shouldn’t be anything deterring him from confessing if that’s what he is trying to do. Or not trying to do.

I just wanted to finish up the post but we’re going to talk about it. From this post alone, it sounds like Skeppy is in love, right guys? I mean, c’mon. He made a diss track apparently but you know how you get a crush, and it hurts so much that you start having a grudge against that person? Especially when it seems like Bad isn’t being a good friend at this point in time, even if he doesn’t realize it?
Not to say he doesn’t have valid reasons for not meeting up yet. It sounds like they never properly talked about how much a meetup means to each other. Like Skeppy points out, they’re having a miscommunication issue and this is how Skeppy bares his heart, through song.
Chat, let me get all my thoughts out first, I promise I’m not trying to ignore you.
What I’m thinking is, Skeppy feels like Bad doesn’t feel the same way. Them not meeting up is a way for Bad to keep Skeppy at arm’s length, or however far away they are. He can’t bring himself to confess if he doesn’t even know that Bad cares to see him in person. Because the endgame with online relationships is to eventually move in, right? If he’s seemingly not interested in meeting irl then why would Skeppy confess at all? I think that’s all I got. What are y’all saying?

Huh, so that’s another wrench in the system. Plane phobia. Well why doesn’t Skeppy travel to Bad instead? Unless that sentiment extends to Skeppy as well. Bad doesn’t want him to travel by plane in case something happens. That doesn’t sound right but I don’t really know what’s going on there.

This guy knows what’s up. Asking the real questions.
‘It’s complicated, early on in our friendship he’d flirt with me as a troll and I’d always politely turn him down. I’ve known about him for so long, even before he was 18, that I wasn’t comfortable indulging in this kind of joke. So even if he was 19 when he made these comments, he felt too young for me. He grew out of it and eventually we were inseparable as best friends, to the point that our mutual friends would tease us. Both of us would casually deny anything to our friends but honestly, I wouldn’t mind dating him if he made the first move. You understand why I can’t make the first move, right?’
I didn’t think we’d be going back to the age gap discussion. So he’s aware of how this looks, getting feelings for someone when you’re friends, but you’ve been in the same spaces when they weren’t 18 and you were an adult. Bad was being respectful but now it just reads as disinterest. That’s fascinating. I’m sticking to my guns on what I said earlier. I think Bad made the right decision to reject Skeppy when he was 19 but now? They’re both adults with stable careers that can make their own decisions. I don’t blame him for not making the first move, but pushing Skeppy away isn’t doing anyone any favors.

That was… an emotional rollercoaster. I don’t even know where to start. Because… okay.
First things first, before we look at the lyrics, I already forgot that he had help with someone else to produce this. The other voice came up and I was confused for a second, but it was really well done. Somehow it’s both harsher and much sweeter than I expected it to be. The random images also threw me off so y'all are going to have to walk me through those.
We’re going back and watching from the beginning now.

Literally pausing on the first second of the video, I know. Just hear me out. This beginning sounds like an actual text. As if he’s been writing and rewriting a message to talk about how he feels, because he’s feeling ignored. ‘Hey it’s me again,’ is the double texting you do after being ghosted. Whatever was going on with Bad, he fucked up by leaving Skeppy out of the loop.

Considering they’ve been trying to meet up for years. I understand this. Hang on, thank you for the super chat! ‘Skeppy says hey it’s me again because he didn’t post on YouTube for 2 months before this.’ Yeah I can’t say for sure obviously what Skeppy meant with this song. I guess, disclaimer guys, I’m an outside observer. And unless Skeppy himself tells us what each lyric means everything’s up to interpretation.
That being said, I have to respectfully disagree. This song’s intended audience is Bad, so that’s how I’m going to approach this.

Starting a diss track with I’m sorry is a little funny to me. When it does happen it’s sarcastic but Skeppy’s so sincere here. They talk so much together but they must’ve never talked about their relationship huh? He has to apologize before he even gets to say what he’s thinking.
‘So it’s just you and me. I’m going to start a fight now.’
Interesting that this is how he starts a fight. Chat, do you know if they fight a lot online? Is this a rare thing for them? It’d make sense if it’s rare, that the only way he could pick a fight with his best friend is in this low stakes sort of rap track. Woah woah woah that’s a lot of no’s I’m seeing. ‘They fight all the time’ ‘That’s their love language’ Hah, so I was way off the mark on that.
Oh, I get it now. This is how Skeppy processes strong emotions, right? He needs to get his anger out, pick a fight. And by doing this in a song slash diss track it removes a lot of the bite. Wow, hearing it all at once was very confusing but it’s starting to make sense. All of this felt very absurd. I'm not gonna lie. Like he was going crazy but he might actually be very emotionally intelligent by doing this.

It’s hard to not feel terrible when you feel like someone is drifting away from you. Especially if he has a crush on Bad? Yeah that’s gotta hurt. This chorus is nice, it gives me a bit of whiplash because the rap parts sound so mean. It’s like a compliment sandwich, right? I hate you. You’re my best friend. We’re going to fight. You’re my best friend. You treat me like dirt. I love you. Ridiculous.
Can anyone explain what this flag is? Is it a pride flag? I don’t know all the flags so forgive me if this is a known flag that I haven’t heard of before. Okay y’all don’t need to laugh. So I’m inclined to believe that chatter based purely off of vibes and because it’s making that lyric loaded with meaning. Let’s see… Bad pretty much looks his age. And he has long hair? So is he tall then, if Skeppy’s just calling him the opposite of everything to insult him? Anyways, we’re going to be here all day if we don’t move on with the song. This might be the only Reddit story we get through today. Skephalo completely hijacked the stream, sorry guys.

This part of the song we’re meant to assume this is him being truthful and not lashing out anymore. The ‘I don’t care’ is still abrupt and feels contradicting… Hear me out. What if this means that even if their friendship is strained, becomes a ‘mystery,’ Skeppy will still feel the same way towards Bad. This gets emphasized by the chorus coming in right after, affirming that they’re best friends until the end.
I’m going to say my theory again that Skeppy made this song because he wants to confess to Bad, and he assumes it’s unrequited. Even though Bad may or may not reciprocate, he’s still going to love him. And that makes him angry, to be so fond of someone that he can’t have.
This should be my job guys. Over analyzing stranger’s relationships. Long live parasocialism. I mean, I already do this with the Reddit stories. It’s all pretty much the same, judging people based on what they do online. I’m having a blast with this one, though. ‘Bro’s a stan’? Renaming my channel to skephalo stan right now. No I’m kidding, unless I get to 75k subscribers in this stream. That’s just a joke… unless? Moving on.

Bad is playing with Skeppy’s emotions and he doesn’t know if it’s intentional. This back and forth about meeting up is treated without the seriousness that he needs from Bad.

This is good, we learned in Bad’s post that he also has feelings for Skeppy and his avoidant attachment makes him push Skeppy away. This shows how Skeppy notices this, but not enough to realize that it’s because Bad likes him too. Their yearning makes both of them hurt. Fucking cinema.
‘Gotta push you aside so I can shine like a diamond!’
You can’t be preoccupied with these things forever. As much as it feels good to wallow in self pity. In that ‘oh my crush will never like me back,’ sort of way, you can’t keep up with that for years. That resentment can turn foul.

God, it’s such a loaded end to the song. All he wants is to do is communicate, share his feelings, and confess when he’s ready. Skeppy sounds vulnerable here. Putting all his cards on the table for Bad and Bad understandably freaks out a bit. Goes to Reddit out of desperation. Really good stuff.

This is the most wholesome Reddit post I’ve seen in r/relationship_advice, chat. An actual, low stakes disagreement between a couple and not some couple that obviously hate each other but won’t break up for god knows what reason. Well first, we need to look at some wedding photos… None of these give off enough skephalo vibes. The dark blue and red ones are definitely ‘Merica coded. But the light blue and red ones are just not hitting. I wouldn’t say they’re patriotic though, I agree with Skeppy on that.
