Chapter 2: Chapter 1: post-breakup depression

Summary:

Her paw hits the button, and as Bingo’s screen loads, she’s surprised by how wretched her own face looks.
“Hey sis,” Bluey says miserably, Bingo looking at her with nothing but concern.
“Bluey…”
“I know, I look like shit.” She wipes at her face, but that just leaves room for more tears to flow down her cheeks. “It’s so stupid for me to be crying this much, Bingo. I mean, I’m the one who broke up with him.”

Chapter 3: Chapter 2: phone call

Summary:

Snuggling further into the covers, she relaxes against the body of the other dog in the bed with her. He’s still deeply asleep, but she can’t help pressing a little kiss to his cheek and smiling giddily. He’s so adorable when he’s asleep, and she rarely gets to see him so utterly relaxed.
A small grumble from the other dog has her jump slightly. A black and white arm is tossed over her side, tugging her closer. Maybe he wasn’t as asleep as she thought.

Chapter 4: Chapter 2 (pt 2): Phone call

Summary:

She eats dinner with her parents, but conversation is hard to come by. Chilli and Bandit are trying to subtly pry into the situation at hand, and when Bluey shuts them down, the rest of the time is spent telling her the same stuff everyone else has - ‘it’ll be better, you’ll be okay, it’s all gonna be fine!’
By the time her plate is clean, Bluey is about ready to yank her fur out. “Can you guys just stop!”
Her parents’ eyes widen.
Bluey continues, “I don’t want to talk about it, okay! And I’m fucking tired of everyone trying to give me advice! It’s my breakup, can you guys just let me process it? Please?!”

Chapter 5: Chapter 3: Reaching out (unfinished)

Summary:

Bingo, pizza’s here!” Bluey calls up the stairs to her little sister.
“Coming!” Bingo shouts back, footsteps confirming her words as she appears at the top of the stairwell.
Bluey heads to the front door and peeks out the peepholes. The sight outside makes her smile.
Her boyfriend is outside, holding several boxes of pizza.
“Mackenzie!” She trills as she lets him in, grabbing his arm to lead him to the kitchen table.

Omg so sorry for not updating. I basically forgot to do chapter 3 or something but I move been procrastinating on actually finishing it. Recently I had to reset my iPhone because I forgot my password like wtf. So I lost all my art on ibis. So now I can’t finish it and have to kind of start from scratch. I already have all my art posted somewhere else thankfully. This is the unfinished work, I might come back later and actually finish it but we’ll see.

Chapter 6: Chapter 4: Best-laid plans

Summary:

He sits down next to her on the carpet, setting the cookie tin in his lap. “That can’t be true. What happened?”

Bluey just gestures at the eviction notice dropped on the floor. Jean-Luc grabs the paper and scans it, eyes going even wider.

“You’re getting kicked out?”

“Yeah,” Bluey whimpers, “And I don’t know what I’m going to do, Jean-Luc.”

The apartment falls into dead silence, punctuated every few seconds by Bluey’s stifled sniffs, trying desperately not to burst into tears again.

Chapter 7: Chapter 5: Airplane

Summary:

She drops the pile of clothing she’s acquired on the bed next to her, then sits down and gets to folding.
Chilli looks like she wants to say something, but decides against it. And, going slowly, as if Bluey won’t notice, she begins to fold clothes as well.
“I might just do a bit of exploring,” Bluey muses, “Or maybe try out skiing on my own. Jean-Luc said he’d help me out, but it might be nice to get in a bit of extra time on the slopes.”
“Skiing is fun,” Chilli adds, “Though I will say that learning to ski with someone who already knows how can kind of suck sometimes.”

Chapter 8: Chapter 6: Homecoming

Summary:

Sitting beside Jean-Luc, Adele glances over and meets Bluey’s gaze. And holds it, for quite a bit, until Bluey gives an awkward wave and smile. Then the lab turns to Jean-Luc and whispers something, so quiet Bluey has to strain to hear.

“Elle est magnifique, cousine.”

Said in French, Bluey has no hope of deciphering. Though the way Jean-Luc elbows his cousin in response does make her curious.

Chapter 9: Chapter 7: Skiing

Summary:

Thankfully, unlike many of her friends, Jean-Luc is an easy drunk to care for. He drinks the whole glass of water Bluey hands him, and settles into bed without complaint. She’s about to head through the connecting door to her room, ready for bed herself, when a paw grabs gently at her wrist.
“You need something?”

“Tu si es belle.”

“Oh, um, you too? I think. That better be a compliment!”

Jean-Luc doesn’t answer. His grip slackens, and his eyes drift closed. Bluey rolls her eyes and tucks the covers around him.

Chapter 10: Chapter 8: wedding bells

Summary:

The ceremony itself is quick, and of course in French, though despite being left out of the loop both Bluey and Otto end up in tears, passing one of Bluey’s handkerchiefs back and forth to wipe at their eyes as the bride and groom finally lean in for a kiss.
The room bursts into cheers, the newly wed couple holding each other in a loving embrace. Then Adele pulls away and shouts, “Tout le monde a ses skis!”

Adele is the brown lab while Maxime is the black lab

Chapter 11: Chapter 9: stranded

Summary:

All that’s left to do is wait.

Quickly, Bluey discovers that Jean-Luc is a lot more skilled in that department than she is. The lab pulls his e-reader from his backpack and settles in, soon otherwise dead to the world except for whatever book he’s devouring.

Bluey, for her part, grabs her tablet and attempts to get some work done. But after slamming out piece after piece on the plane, all her creative juices are utterly fried, and she ends up erasing every new line and layer she creates.

By minute fifteen the blue heeler is facedown on the floor.

Jean-Luc lifts his eyes from his screen, raising a single eyebrow. “Are you okay?”

“Yep,” Bluey mumbles into the carpet, “Livin’ the dream right now.”
