Summary
It’s the fall of 2012. Max Verstappen is 15 years old, and Jos Verstappen decides to move them both to Monaco to focus more on Max’s racing career. There, Max crosses paths with none other than his longtime racing rival and archenemy: Charles Leclerc. Though they initially clash, they end up realizing that they have more in common than not, and a tentative friendship soon blossoms between them. But as Max grows ever closer to the Leclercs, he realizes many things, upending everything he thought he knew about himself and his life.
Or: basically an AU exploring what would have happened if Jos Verstappen had decided to move himself and Max to Monaco in 2012. Could Max and Charles have ended up becoming friends? Perhaps even more? Could Max finally realize he's been growing up under the abusive fist of his father, and maybe even spring free?
