It was the middle of the night and all toons were asleep except for one. All toons, except for the butterfly.
She stared at the ceiling with wide eyes. Beads of sweat fell down her face. She normally slept well, but not today. She realized, if she stayed up all night then she would be exhausted the next day, and if she was exhausted then she could fall asleep randomly! And if she fell asleep randomly, imagine if it happened during a run!
She sat up in her bed. Flutter hoped something could come and knock her out. That's when an idea popped in her head.
Eventually she stood up after stumbling a little. Her eyes snapped to the door. She floated over to the door, and pushed it open.
The hallway was extremely dark and cold. It sent a shiver down her spine. The cold contrasted from the day. Her bed seemed so warm and safe…
NO!
She was tired and was going to go see her boyfriend!
After all, who wouldn't wanna sleep in Glistens bed?
She headed outside of her room and looked around, hoping to not see any of the other toons. Another shiver went down her back. She couldn't wait to sleep in his warm bed ♡.
Her head was aching due to the sleep deprivation. She never stayed up this late, so it makes sense.
By god did she just want to sleep.
After walking for a while she finally made it to Glistens room. She felt overjoyed to see her boyfriend again, despite seeing him every day.
Gently, she knocked on the door. To her surprise it creaked open slightly. She felt a chill down her spine. Well, if he's in there then she shouldn't be afraid…right?
She pushed the door open, hoping to see any sign of him. A bead of sweat dripped down her face. She wasn't worried about going to sleep now, she was worried if he was ok.
Before even having the chance to blink she felt a cold feeling around her waist. She decided to fight whoever, or whatever, was gripping onto her. She kicked and flapped her wings violently until the ‘creature’ spoke.
“Hey, hey! Calm down it's just me baby.” A soft voice whispered in her ear. It sounded so familiar, almost like… “It's Glisten.”
She felt calmer now. A lot less anxious and scared. Just as fast as she calmed down, she stopped flailing. Glisten let go of her, letting her have enough room to turn around and face him.
“I'm sorry I scared you. I was looking for you.” He sighed. Flutter had a confused look on her face. He noticed it and gave a weak smile in return.
“...?” She gently pushed him inside the room. Desperately she wanted to sleep.
“If I don't get the most perfect nights sleep, I won't be perfect tomorrow for anything!” He began, “So that's why I went to look for you! I was thinking maybe…we could cuddle..”
Her eyes widened. She felt so giddy after hearing that. She pushed him more into his room, hoping he wouldn't mind.
“...!” Her face had a deep blush across it when she finally sat down on his bed. He grinned at her. He plopped down on his bed right next to her.
“C'mere.” He scooched closer to her, pulling her closer in the process. Before she knew it he had laid down. She laid down as well.
The two stayed laying there, staring into eachothers eyes. It felt like nothing could ever top this moment. He smiled, admiring her features.
“...” Her eyebrows furrowed slightly as she rolled her eyes.
“Ok ok! Come here.” Glisten laughed. He held on to her, gently caressing her cheek in the process. To his surprise she furrowed her brows even more.
She spun around, facing away from Glisten, “...♡”
His eyebrows raised, unsure what she wanted quite yet. This felt uncomfortable to him. He groaned before moving away from her.
“I don't feel comfortable spooning, sorry.” He groaned, his tone being slightly annoyed. She grew annoyed as well.
He turned onto his back. He crossed his arms after finally moving. He huffed, clearly he wouldn't stand for this!
Flutter sat up, a little scowl on her face.
The two stayed in the same spot for what seemed like forever. Flutter was annoyed, she wanted to just sleep!
Finally she noticed the position he was in. An idea popped in her head.
She laid down, moving closer to him. Eventually she placed her head on his chest. She felt his chest rise and fall, which soothed her.
Glisten uncrossed his arms and placed one on top of her head, gently caressing it. She nuzzled her face into his neck in response, leaving gentle kisses on his neck.
“...?”
“Yeah, this is fine. Goodnight lovely ♡”
