That cloudy afternoon when Izuku held Katsuki’s lifeless body.
That cloudy afternoon when Katsuki came back to life.
Years have passed since that afternoon, that afternoon where Katsuki began to feel a pressure in his heart. Every time he saw him, every time he spoke to him.
That pressure in his heart never went away, but he always felt he had to do something.
So one afternoon he decided to follow his heart.
It was an afternoon as cloudy as the one when his heart stopped beating. Like the one where Izuku cried over his body.
That afternoon he got ready; using his dominant arm, he made the final adjustments and took his keys along with his wallet.
It was going to be a simple outing to eat, nothing more. Right?
So, looking at the clock, he calculated his arrival time to UA. He was arriving just when Izuku had a break.
He quickly left his apartment and got into his car, driving through the streets of Mustafasu until he reached the tall building that was UA.
He almost never came here (not to say never) since he had graduated. So he felt... weird. Upon arriving, he simply parked his car near the building and headed to the entrance.
—Good afternoon, sir. How can we help you? —he heard a man say, a guard who was near the entrance.
Katsuki, alert, immediately turned his head.
—D-Dynamight?
Katsuki nodded, and the man got alarmed.
—Oh, Dynamight! What do you need?
Katsuki approached and gave a sharp blow to the table that had some registration papers.
—The teachers' office.
The man flinched, but nodded.
—Second floor, at the end.
Katsuki didn’t even say thanks before running up the stairs, eventually bumping into some students. But that didn’t stop him; his heart began to beat hard, and that feeling of pressure reappeared.
Panting a bit, he reached the office door and cleared his throat.
—Come on, Katsuki, you can do it —he told himself mentally as he felt the pressure in his heart gradually increase.
Then he looked through the window, managing to see the green-haired boy with dark circles under his beautiful face as he ran his hand through his hair.
His freckles, which shone like stars under the starry sky, created a strange contrast between his haggard face and his smooth and (almost) perfect skin.
Back to reality, he cleared his throat and knocked on the door.
—Come in! —he heard Izuku announce from inside.
Katsuki, trying to set aside his nervousness, took the first step and brought his hand to the doorknob. Opening the door, however, his nervousness betrayed him, and the door opened with a slam.
Inside, he saw Izuku alert, raising his gaze and looking at him with those emerald eyes... but so tired...
—Kacchan? —he asked then.
Katsuki, who still had his hand on the doorknob, simply returned the gaze and withdrew his hand.
—Oh! Ehm... Uhm... Dek—I mean, Izuku!
Izuku raised an eyebrow.
—What’s wrong?
Katsuki cleared his throat again.
—I wanted to ask if you wanted to... uhhh... go out to eat with me after your shift.
Izuku tilted his head.
—That’s very late...
Katsuki felt his hands sweating.
—So what? I’m Dynamight, the number one hero! Nothing will happen to you!
Then Izuku let out a giggle, and Katsuki began to blush, trying to cover his face.
—Don’t think anything! This isn’t a date... uhmmmm!
Oh my god... Katsuki felt his face completely blush.
Then he closed his eyes, squeezing them along with his fists.
He was so distracted that he didn’t realize Izuku had taken his clenched fists gently, his calloused hands contrasting with Izuku’s soft but firm ones.
Katsuki opened his eyes.
—Kacchan, relax. Yes, I’ll go with you.
Katsuki looked at Izuku’s hands and his own; then raised his gaze to those pair of emerald orbs that shone and contrasted with that tired little face.
Katsuki straightened up and nodded.
—Alright! Then I’ll see you downstairs when you finish your day.
And so, Katsuki felt the pressure in his chest disappear.
