Summary:

To her complete and utter horror, Mikumo Akatani wakes up as the main character's rival and daughter of the main villain of the otome game she was just halfway through playing.

My Sorcerer Academia is a newly released otome game following the kind hearted protagonist Uraraka Ochaco as she goes to the most prestigious school in the entire realm, Yuuei. Raised in a family of humble peasants, she often helped her fellow villagers with magical problems big or small. This talent caused her to personally be scouted by Yuuei, a school of sorcery unbound to any kingdom which taught every field of magic with some of the most accomplished sorcerers worldwide as alumni. There, she must adapt to the passive aggressive, cold blooded, and frankly ridiculous politics of the many children of different factions.

She becomes quick friends with Yaoyorozu Momo, scion of the highly regarded clan of Yaoyorozu of the kingdom of Fukuoka, known for their powerful conjuring magic. Ochaco forms positive bonds with many of her other schoolmates, most notably Todoroki Shouto, son of the fire sorcerer Endeavor, Katsuki Bakugou, another talented student scouted by Yuuei, and Mirio Toogata, a third year who seems awfully close to the newest teacher, All Might.

However, she doesn’t make friends with everyone. Izuku Shigaraki, the half demon half human princess, daughter of the Demon Lord All For One, also happens to go to Yuuei. The Demon Lord All For One is the leader of the dark alliance, a coalition of multiple clans and species, allied in order to better stand against the forces of good. The alliance has been building its army and reinforcing its defenses, leading to many suspecting an attack. Rumors float around about undead creatures made of the blackest of dark magic, soldiers created to be super weapons. Izuku Shigaraki is not alone- she is surrounded by her fathers lackeys: the vampire Himiko Toga from the vampire clan of Toga, her personal butler, a wisp called Kurogiri, and her adopted older brother (originally her cousin) prince-general Tomura Shigaraki, also an upperclassman. The princesses cold and sharp demeanor and her inability to control the cruelty of her lackeys leads to her and Ochaco bumping heads more than once.

As the school year progresses, Ochaco must continue to explore the ever tense and wired to explode world of politics, unwrap the mysterious surrounding Todoroki Shouto, Katsuki Bakugou, and Toogata Mirio, and prepare for the possibility of conflict with Izuku Shigaraki and the Dark Alliance.

HOW TO PLAY

  1. Press the next button to move forward.
  2. When a choice screen appears, click one of the buttons that appears.
  3. Refresh the page to start at the beginning.
  4. Enjoy!

Note: The game does work on mobile, but the sizing is designed for larger screens. For best experience, play on a screen at least 700 by 1250 pixels. However, if you do play on mobile, you can get around the sizing by scrolling up and down or by zooming out on the browser.

EDIT MAY 7 2025- I've added the game to itch.io! It runs much smoother than in neocities. I've set it so it's entirely free to play and you can't donate. Check it out here: https://fanfictiongremlin.itch.io/mn

Notes:

The only villainess isekai anime that I've ever watched is Villainess Level 99 (it's great, you should check it out!). Because of that, this takes some notes from that anime specifically. All of the backgrounds (except for the carriage) are screenshots from that anime. I would have drawn them myself, but this is for an event and I was running out of time.

I got the idea for a visual novel fanfic from this fic, a Saiki K x Worm fic (spoilers for both series!!!) where the author did the same for a part of a chapter. This really impressed me, and I thought, "hey, since I know some javascript, wouldn't it be cool if I did something similar?"

I really shouldn't have done this for an event with a deadline. Everything took a bit longer than expected, and that resulted in a few things being rushed. Especially the sprites. Even worse, I thought I had an extra week, and planned for so, but then I realized the event actually ended on the 24th. But I made it in time!!!

This is mostly a baseline for possible future projects in this format, so nevertheless I am glad i did this. It was definitely a learning experience. I'll absolutely use the things I learned doing this.

Because of the rush, there are quite a few things that I thought about doing but didn't make it in, including more sprites, drawn backgrounds, end screens and an intro screen. I may find the time to update this later though.

Anyways, done rambling, please tell me if there are any bugs! And please please please leave a comment. Thank you!

Edit #1 of possibly many. Redrew the Bakugou sprites.

Edit #2: the fourth ending wasn’t working as pressing the choice for that ending three you to the last screen of ending three, so I fixed it now. You should be able to play through the entire script. Thank you to
Idiotwhotalkstoomuch who pointed it out in the comments.
