Work Text:
Flash interview with bestselling author Penelope Bridgerton
Mayfair Today:
Mrs. Bridgerton, how does it feel to have released your third bestselling novel in a row?
Penelope Bridgerton:
I’m not gonna lie, it feels pretty great. [laughs]
MT:
It probably feels even greater knowing that you’re nominated for the QC Romance award again. An award you’ve won with both of your previous works already.
PB:
It is, as always, an honor to be nominated alongside so many talented authors and I sincerely hope that, regardless of who will win, that all of the authors and their amazing works get the love and recognition they deserve.
MT:
There have been rumors that your first novel might be receiving a movie adaptation soon?
PB:
You know that I can’t comment on that.
MT:
You mentioned in interviews that you’ve been writing since you were a teenager. Is there any chance of your early works being released to the public?
PB:
[laughs] No, I don’t think my 14-year-old self’s Hinny fanfictions should see the light of day, although my husband would be very much with you on that request.
MT:
He likes them?
PB:
[laugs] He even thinks my grocery lists deserve literature prizes. Also, he was the inspiration for those fanfictions back in the day, so I’m pretty sure he’s biased.
MT:
Okay, last question: Who is your current favorite author?
PB:
That’s easy, my husband.
