Kanade will always protect Mafuyu. No matter what it was. It was her duty as the kingdom's sorceress to use her magic for good, for protection.
Kanade sat at her garden, examining the new flowers that had bloomed. She could use them for some new experiments, maybe this was the chance to make potions for the neighboring kingdom. She could save their king, and Mafuyu wouldn't need to fight in meaningless wars anymore.
Suddenly, a loud noise came from behind her. Kanade turned around to see a black cloud forming near Mafuyu's chambers. Kanade's face shifted to panic.
"Mafuyu!"
Mafuyu will always protect Kanade. No matter what it was. It was her duty as the kingdom's knight to use her power for good, for protection.
Mafuyu was at the training area, wielding her sword. There were rumours about how the neighboring kingdom was going to strike, to take the skilled sorceress known as Yoisaki Kanade. Mafuyu couldn't lose her, so she decided to train even harder.
Suddenly, Mafuyu heard screams from behind her. She looked around, just to see a trail of blood leading to Kanade's lab. Mafuyu filled with rage.
"Kanade!"
Kanade arrived at Mafuyu's chambers, but Mafuyu was nowhere to be found. Arms reached for Kanade, covering her mouth.
"Don't fight it. You'll come with us whether you like it or not." The soldier grabbing Kanade whispered. Kanade noticed that crest anywhere, they were from the neighboring kingdom. Had they striked again? What about Mafuyu?
"You were right Sir Suzuki, she really did come to her stupid lover's chambers! Where is Asahina, anyway?" The soldiers cackled around Kanade. Kanade started fighting their grip, but it was useless.
"Asahina's at the training field. We have a good amount of soldiers, so it won't be long until they come with her head. Meanwhile, let's think about taking this little sorceress to-" Kanade reached into her pocket, throwing a potion to the ground and setting fire to the castle. The soldier grabbing her let her go, and Kanade started running.
"Get her!"
Mafuyu, please, I'm coming, so stay alive-
Mafuyu immediately went into battle when she got to Kanade's lab. Mafuyu swiftly got the head of several soldiers, until she realized Kanade wasn't there. She took one soldier hostage, putting her sword dangerously close to his neck.
"Where is Kanade? If you don't answer, he dies." Mafuyu said, her tone dropping dangerously. The soldiers around her froze.
"She's with our other unit in your chambers, you foolish knight! She'll be taken as our slave, and you, you'll be-" Mafuyu didn't need to hear any more. She killed off the rest of the soldiers and started rushing towards her chambers.
Kanade, please, I'm fine, so don't get caught-
"Mafuyu! Mafuyu, where are you!" Kanade cried when she arrived at the training field. The amount of blood was... alarming. Kanade just hoped that wasn't Mafuyu's blood. The soldiers caught up to her and Kanade squeezed her eyes shut, getting ready to use another potion. But instead of rough hands, soft ones came to carress her face.
"Kanade. It's okay, I'm here." Mafuyu whispered. Kanade looked up, her eyes filled with tears.
"Mafuyu-! Are you, are you okay?" Kanade asked worriedly, looking for any wounds on Mafuyu's body. Kanade winced when she found a large cut on her thigh.
"This must have hurt... Don't worry, I'll give you something for that..." Kanade reached into her pockets and pulled out healing herbs, gently rubbing them on Mafuyu's wound until she was better. Then, she smiled and placed a kiss on Mafuyu's forehead.
"Mafuyu, do you know where the enemies are?" Kanade asked. Mafuyu stiffened.
"Why do you want to know that?" Mafuyu asked hesitantly.
"We need to end this war, Mafuyu. I can't stand to see you get hurt anymore... I'll figure something out. After all, I'm always going to protect you." Kanade smiled. Mafuyu held Kanade's hand.
"I'll protect you as well, Kanade. We'll always have each other..."
