"I think this is our seat, Mafuyu." Kanade said softly as they looked around the movie theatre. It was about a month since they started going out, yet they hadn't been on a date yet.
"You guys need to go on a date! Watching a scary movie together, Kanade running ino your arms screaming... Eating popcorn and touching hands! It's the epitome of dating!" Mizuki's voice rang in Mafuyu's mind, although it wasn't exactly how Mizuki imagined it. The movie was a romance movie, not a horror movie. They also didn't buy any popcorn, since they already had breakfast.
...But I do want to hold her hand. Mafuyu thought as they settled into their seats.
"Kanade." Mafuyu said, and showed Kanade her hand. Kanade smiled and grabbed it.
"It's nice, being here with you." Kanade whispered. Soon, the lights went off and the movie started. Mafuyu squeezed her eyes shut. Too loud. Mafuyu forgot how sensitive to sound she was. Her ears hurt.
Suddenly, Mafuyu felt something drape over her ears. Mafuyu opened her eyes to see Kanade looking at her worriedly, giving Mafuyu her noise-cancelling headphones.
"Are you okay?" Kanade mouthed. Mafuyu nodded. Most of the sound was blocked now, and it was much better. And subtitles existed, which was great for Mafuyu.
Kanade smiled and kept on holding Mafuyu's hand. Mafuyu felt a warmth spread in her chest.
She remembered. She remembered and brought her headphones, for me... Mafuyu glanced at Kanade. Kanade was so focused at the movie, probably analysing the soundtrack.
I want to kiss her.
A few hours later, the movie ended and the lights were back on. Kanade was still in her seat, humming the soundtrack as if trying not to forget it. Mafuyu took off her headphones and handed them to Kanade.
"Ah, Mafuyu. How was the movie? Was it too loud?" Kanade asked. Instead of giving her a verbal answer, Mafuyu kissed Kanade. Kanade blushed.
"It was fine. Let's get lunch." Mafuyu and Kanade walked out of the theatre, still hand in hand.
Well, maybe Mizuki was right about movie dates.
