Random Snippets

Summary:

I often get random ideas for short little scenes that don't necessarily fit into any fic I'm currently working on. That said, they may show up in some other writing down the road if they do suddenly fit.

Sometimes they're random thoughts, sometimes they're inspired by conversations from the server.

ch 1: Lee Sa-young can't pay attention so Cha Eui-jae uses his mask to his advantage to make him pay attention.
ch 2: Cha Eui-jae uses Lee Sa-young's harness to get a better vantage.
ch 3: CEJ has a nightmare about the West Sea Rift and finds comfort in Sa-young's arms.
ch 4: While exploring a dungeon CEJ and LSY take a moment to enjoy a break.
ch 5: Lee Sa-young walks with Park Ha-eun back to the hangover soup restaurant.
ch 6: A little domestic moment between my favorite non-240J ship: Seo Mingi and Jung Bin.
ch 7: CEJ and LSY morning wake up routine.

Will update tags as needed.

Notes:

Lee Sa-young can't pay attention so Cha Eui-jae uses his mask to his advantage to make him pay attention.

This one was inspired by a convo about LSY's mask.

Chapter Text

Violet eyes swept over the landscape of the dungeon. Something massive was moving in the distance, its footsteps heavy enough to shake the ground beneath them.

“-oung.” By the time he realized he hadn’t heard the man next to him, it was too late. He only got a moment’s warning before a hand moved into his line of sight, fingers wrapping around one of the filters on his mask. The strong grip made the hard plastic of his gas mask squeak before the other tugged, forcing Sa-young’s head back around until he was staring into a black, shiny mask.

“Sa-young, pay attention.” Another crash from the creature pulled his gaze away again, the hand still holding on to his mask. Cha Eui-jae’s irritation was immediately evident as he pulled his head back around by the mask, shaking it and Sa-young right along with it.

He let Eui-jae shake him for a few moments before he finally grabbed his wrist, tugging it back and over his shoulder, pulling the other hunter against him. “Yes, Hyung?”

J was quiet for a few moments, until Sa-young playfully flicked his red ears. “You had something to say?” He prompted again, amused.

“Stay close so I can protect you.”

He couldn’t help but scoff at the request, maintaining his grip on Eui-jae’s wrist with one hand, while grabbing the other with his free hand. Holding them in his strong grip, he leaned in until their masks bumped together. “You stay close to me, who knows what trouble you’ll find if you go running off again.”

They stayed like that for a few minutes longer. If anyone had passed by they probably would have thought that the number one and two hunters were embroiled in some personal conflict, but they simply let the moment stretch, soaking in each other’s company and warmth while they could.

Finally, Sa-young dropped Eui-jae’s wrists, stepping out from between the dilapidated buildings and into the bright white wasteland beyond. “Shall we?”

Eui-jae stepped out of the shadows to return to Sa-young’s side before they set off to hunt the dungeon’s master together.
