   He could hear a shovel dragging against the ground, the sound muffled against the grass. Sirius couldn’t see anything other than the red sky and the swishing of his mother’s long hair—tied back in an epic ponytail—in the wind.

   And maybe that was for the best, because the only person who could possibly be carrying the shovel was Regulus, and although Sirius already knew, he’d rather not have confirmation that his brother would be the one digging his grave.

   The mere thought was enough to make him want to start crying his eyes out. How terrible. All of this was so terrible.
