Work Text:

The air was nothing less than suffocating.
Raising her head to look at the empty sky, Millie had wished for nothing more than to feel fresh rain again. The only thing that met her however was a dissapointing grey. An empty hull devoid of casting her some sympathy. At some point she stopped counting how much time had passed. It could've been days or years, but it didn't matter because it all felt the same to her nonetheless.

She closes her eyes and for a split second she can breathe again, the air no longer knife splittingly thick.

In the void of her eyelids, she sees them, all of them. Not only the fallen, but the ones who survived as well, even briefly so. She keeps her eyes closed for longer, hoping to preserve the memory as she would've the fine metals she used to work with at home.

Back at home, she thinks, it would have been a nightmare. It was hard to remember much, her fleeting memory resigning on the four that visited days before. A strange red panda hybrid, the hero, an odd goblin and a strangely talented blind man. An unfortunate and odd group one might've thought, yet they were nothing short of a true groups bond.
While their time there was as brief as Akans death, Millie wished she could've gone back in time to speak with them more. Infact, she wishes she could go back in time anyways, if not for them then to see her home.

But that wasn't so easy was it.
The god of time, Akan as they had previously called them, was long gone. There was no time to go back to.

'poor bloke didn't even have time to fight back..' She thought to herself, but then again how could she feel sympathy for the very one responsible for this all. She tries to tell herself they never did it on purpose, but that felt too empathetic to say about a god. Afterall, if the divine could make measley mistakes and fuck ups, they wouldn't have been the divine would they?

She sighs, then opens her eyes, dwelling on the past felt impossible, and not just because there was no time to go back to.

Ahead of her she spots the dome, and she imagines the bustling crowd from afar. Kids dragging their parents for the best seat at the Syphlympics.
Millie cringes at the thought. What once was a comforting and exhilarating feeling for her now felt like a past memory, another reason to wish for rain. She swallows a lump in her throat, even that feeling too loud for her.

Zyllin was a bustling city, filled with the upmost worthwhile performers, even the Tapioca herself. Had she felt calmer, Millie might've even gone to a show right now, to catch the dust from the stage and smile at the half working lights.

'It would be better than rotting here alone..' she ponders, biting her lip in the contemplatory idea. Despite it, she keeps still, comfortable with the idea of rotting much like the others had long?short? some...time... ago.

Ironically, she remembers it like yesterday.
The world ended, so to speak. Akans lifeless body fulfilling the prophecy, Enas however only making it truer. What was supposed to be a savory escape from fate became a final nightmare.
'If only Ena made it in time..'

The universe had..exploded? dissapeared? It was hard to tell, Millie was sure not even the gods could have known if they were still here.

It felt ridiculous to think that, a mortal "outliving" the gods. She wonders how she even managed to pull such a stunt.
Yesterday, she wants to believe, a man showed up. It was the first person she saw since she died her second time. In a white plane of existence he wore a light blue suit, though you wouldn't think of him as bussiness like. If anything, despite her confusion, Millie believed he was some con man or someone who had just gotten out of bed and had to pretend he was up earlier.

"I wasn't in bed, actually.."

"what.." Millie snaps out of her thoughts, looking at the man with a frown, she didn't need to be even more confused than she already was.

"I'm the co creator of all this.Id say Id like you to come with me but i really dont give a shit" he said too blandly for Millies liking. Before Millie got the chance to reply she wasn't infront of the so called co creator, but also another man sitting snugly at a desk.

The sight was odd, something she imagined only the god Mno had seen in purgatory. Two men in suits, one blue one yellow, next to a desk.
The one in a yellow suit had long black hair, if he wasn't in a suit he would've looked oddly like a hot pizza delivery guy, or a man named alejandro. He had a bright smile, almost swooning, as he leaned on his palms, eyeing Millie uncautiously.he also had a nice ass.
Something whispered to her, it felt like the blue suited mans voice but more stern:
'Evel...and he is hot.'
Millie subconsciously nods and looks to the other man.

He was leaning on the desk, fixing her with a glare, a soft mix between jealousy and amusement. Every so often she could have sworn she saw his eyes flicker to the other man, his gaze softening ever so slightly, but as soon as shed think too much about it a sharp pain would bitch slap her forehead. She decided to not overanalyze it, in case one or both of them could read her mind.

Present Millie could only chuckle to herself, thinking back on it. The two, Evel moreso, had set a deal with her. She could keep her mortal life in the universe, and in turn just maybe, "Lin" would restart the universe. Apparently Evel had been torn up about Blip and the goddess Syphups deaths so much Lin decided to experiment with "alternative universes" whatever that meant.

Selfishly Millie took the offer, yet at unspecified times she wishes she didn't.
She found Evel hot and very cute, but had been left off with a warning the second she tried to flirt with him. Turns out she was right about Lins jealous gaze.

Snapping back to the current present, she side eyed the person next to her.

"You don't usually visit..to what do I owe the pleasure to?"

"you were thinking too loudly.." his voice was soft, somehow unfamiliar despite how it was one of the only things Millie could remember clearly now.

"Not a bad thing Id hope.."

"Not if you're Evel," Lin chuckled, his mood immediately turning for the better the first chance he got to mention the other mans name, "which i clearly am not.."

"Then youve come to ridicule me?" Millie lets out a long breath, akin to one people with cigarettes do despite not being a smoker.

Tap.
...Tap.

tap.tap.tap.
Rain.
Instead of answering Millies jest, Lin responded with rain.
Millie smiled softly, closing her eyes and enjoying the feeling.Every pitter patter felt like home, the noise filling the scary silence she felt when alone. The water was pure, as if sent by Evel himself. The sky still held the same grey, but it was already less lonely than before.

Creaking her eyes open, Millie takes a glance at Lin, noticing how unamused he looked. For once he wasn't sent by Evel to pray mercy to Millies existence, an often occurence when Evel himself couldn't come to flirt with her she found. Instead, Lin looked sorrowfully bored, as if he wasn't grieving but was sorry.

Millie scoffs internally, wondering what Akan did for such a fate, alongside the others anyways. What about his own creation made Lin so eager to kill him, to kill time and all that came with it?Why would he be making an alternative universe if he didnt care about th-

"I will drown you when Evel isn't looking if you dont stop mind monologuing."
