Work Text:
It was one of the most important mornings of Clarion’s career: the interview for the Autumn Revelry, and she was already behind the schedule she’d created.
10 minutes behind, to be precise, and Milori smirking at her topless from the kitchen table in their shared apartment was not helping in the very least!
“Milori where is my eyelash curler? Have you seen it? I swear it was here last night.” She groaned fluttering around the apartment to find it.
“My love,” his soothing voice interrupted laced with amusement, “have you checked the drawers in the bathroom?”
“Why would I not?” Her brows drew in close, confused.
That was the first place I’d checked!
She puffed out a breath. If she couldn’t find her eyelash curler then she would just have to settle for getting dressed first. She got dressed in record time, a flattering sunset orange dress fitted with flared sleeves, a cinched waistline, and lace donning the sweetheart bodice with a layered piece of fabric beneath coming up as a subtle turtleneck, leaving only her shoulders out to breathe.
“You look breathtaking dear. You shouldn’t worry so much.” Milori came up next to her, placing a soothing touch to her shoulder, kissing the bare skin peeking through reverently. She shuddered at the touch, swooning inwardly. No, she couldn’t get distracted no matter how alluring and charming her husband was.
“While appreciated, darling, I’m very much behind schedule and I can’t find my eyelash curler.” She huffed, upset.
He rubbed her back soothingly. “How behind?”
“Ten minutes…” She sheepishly answered. He didn’t seem disappointed, but more amused at his wife’s punctual habits. He knew just how to put her overthinking mind at ease.
“Was a goodbye kiss to your husband in that schedule of yours?” He tugged her in by her waist, bending his neck down closing the distance between their lips until there was but a gap of small space for a slip of paper.
She gasped, breath hitching into the distance. “Milori… I don’t have time.”
“Five minutes? Please my love?”
It was getting increasingly hard to resist his snowy, gold laced eyes. It was like she could drown in them if she wasn’t careful enough.
“Two.” Her fingers dug into his shoulder tugging him down into a passionate kiss.
Milori groaned into the kiss, his hands tangling in her hair as he deepened the kiss, gently guiding the nape of her neck up to taste more of her, his desperate need for her growing stronger by the second.
He broke the kiss after a moment, reluctantly pulling away from her, his gaze flickering up and down her dress. "Two minutes." His fingers tightened on her hips, mouth pressing open mouth kisses onto her shoulders, pushing the fabric of her dress slightly back.
“You’ll do wonderful at the interview you know that, right?” He calmed her inner worries with each kiss, easing her nerves and sending her heart fluttering.
She panted from the kiss trying to calm her heart down from flying away, “I know.”
“That’s my girl.” He murmured playing with a lock of her hair. He stepped away from her, leaving her breathless.
“Have fun getting pretty, Riri” He pressed another kiss to her temple and whistled for Noctua. “I’m expected to meet with the Minister of Autumn to talk about the transition in the mainland. I’ll see you sooner then you expect my love.” He pressed a final kiss to the corner of her mouth and another to her jaw before he climbed onto the snowy owl who gave Clarion a loving peck on the shoulder as well.
Her heart did a routine that could have rivaled a Pixie Hallow games gold medalist with how many somersaults it did. She glanced at the kitchen counter he’d been leaning on before spotting her eyelash curler next to the fruit bowl. She let out a sigh, shaking her head with a fond smile and rolled her eyes.
Oh Milori.
