The ‘human’ in question.

Zoey's hands shook as she ran them through her hair.
“P- protecting ourselves?" She huffed out a laugh, "Baby, look at her! Look at what we did! She's alone and it's because of us!"
A heavy silence fell. Zoey's voice dropped, raw and trembling.
"I... I can't... I haven’t felt her in so long, Mir. Neither have you. And it’s been like that for weeks. Weeks. Or have you forgotten and just gotten used to her not being there anymore?"
Mira froze.
“Zoey… I…” Her voice cracked, small and desperate.
She was interrupted, tears spilling freely from Zoey’s eyes, words scrambling together in hiccups.
“I don’t know how to fix it because you two always end up fighting each other and leaving me alone… and that emptiness just keeps getting more obvious.”

He should have died, but instead he met some living armor living alone in a hole that defied space, and decided that the armor deserves a proper house to live in.
