Summary
When Monty had asked Carla if she wanted any assistance walking home, after all, they lived quite close together and the town wasn’t necessarily the safest. The issue of neither of their parents being bothered to come pick them up, even after the recent kidnappings, lingered in the air. Carla accepted, as much as she didn’t want to admit it, she was scared of being kidnapped. At least if Monty went with her, she could offer him as bait and run. His hopeful and bright expression was a bit stupid to her, yet it brought a weird feeling to her chest she couldn’t quite place.
