Summary
Leaving home to carve out your own path had seemed like a good idea at the time. The temptation of gold was ever so alluring. With the way it was advertised, heading west sounded synonymous with fortune and possibility.
It didn’t take long for that idealism to fade as reality reared its ugly, fur-coated head. Beaten down and hopeless, it’s all you can do to make it to the next day. That is, until a man you’d only heard whispers of walks into your life and turns it upside-down once more.
