   “Are we insane?” Bette asks Tina, holding the pen on top of the paper, ready to sign the purchase. Tina looks into her eyes, and she finds a glow of excitement you hardly ever see in adults’ eyes, mostly in children’s—the look of pure joy. Bette’s question makes her smile because Bette’s eyes don’t show her any trace of doubt.
   “Completely,” Tina answers, beaming and signing her name before Bette does hers, “we’ve completely lost our minds, and thank God.”
