Summary
The sudden rise of Amegakure as a formidable and dangerous nation, united by their mysterious Amekage, leaves the five great villages scrambling to form alliances and determine the new hierarchy of power. Amegakure—wrathful from their treatment as a battleground by the great villages—demands a high price from each before they will agree to any alliance. From some they demand money, from others it is territory, but from the land of fire there is only one thing Amekage Uzumaki Nagato wants; the hand in marriage of Uzumaki Naruto, so that he may begin the restoration of the Uzumaki clan.
Bound by old ties between Konohagakure and the long-gone Uzushiogakure, and faced with threats of attack from both the elusive Akatsuki and the newborn Amegakure, Tsunade makes the difficult decision to agree to the Amekage’s request.
