Work Text:
Jin Cheonhee, Yeo Halyun, Jin Cheonwoo and Sama Hyeon were riding a car together, headed towards an amusement park that had recently opened.
Halyun was driving, Cheonhee was sitting in the shotgun position, helping him with the navigation, and Cheonwoo and Hyeon were seated in the backseat.
“I can’t wait to try out all the rides,” Sama Hyeon spoke up, grinning as he scrolled through his phone. “Their website says they have more than 30 different kinds of rides, and they have a haunted house, too!”
“Urgh, you and your love of haunted houses,” Cheonwoo groaned, rolling his eyes.
When they were young and the four of them were still living in the orphanage, Sama Hyeon had been obsessed with horror movies and the horror genre in general. Not only would he force them (and other additional, unwilling participants) to watch horror movies with him, he would also spring up attacks and pranks on each of them — except Cheonhee, of course.
Cheonwoo and Halyun, along with the other unfortunate kids in the orphanage, were Sama Hyeon’s prime targets.
“Do you still remember that time he soaked himself in “blood”, carried a knife, and chased me down three flights of stairs?” Cheonwoo grumbled. That incident had left him with nightmares and a sore throat — courtesy of his endless screaming.
“Hahahah!” Sama Hyeon cackled, reminiscing at the memory. “That was awesome! You should’ve seen your face, pfft!!!”
Cheonhee shook his head at his brother’s behavior, and Yeo Halyun gripped the steering wheel tighter.
“That isn’t even the worst of it. Remember that time he sneaked up on me while I was bathing and left bloody handprints on the bathroom walls?”
“I remember,” Cheonhee sighed. That incident made Halyun absolutely furious. Halyun had just finished taking a bath and couldn’t see his surroundings clearly because of the fog and steam, and Sama Hyeon, taking advantage of that, popped out in a complete mask and costume, and shrieked like some terrible toilet ghost.
Poor Yeo Halyun had slipped and fell in shock, his head hitting the ground with a painful sound. He had a concussion because of that, and the orphanage workers were not pleased.
Sama Hyeon snorted in laughter. “Your face was so fucking pale, Halyun! Hahahah!”
Yeo Halyun sneered at Sama Hyeon’s words.
“You won’t be laughing anymore once we hit the roller coasters though, right?” Yeo Halyun hissed, and Sama Hyeon’s smile faltered.
Fuck. He was afraid of heights, and roller coasters… they made him feel sick.
“Remember when Wang Gakyeon got us tickets to that theme park?” Cheonwoo grinned. “You bravely said you weren’t afraid of the roller coasters, but after getting on the ride, you passed out! Hahaha!!!”
“I did not!” Sama Hyeon objected, but his ears had turned red.
“You did,” Yeo Halyun snickered. “And do you know the best part?”
“You don’t need to say it, okay?” Sama Hyeon groaned, but Jin Cheonwoo ignored him.
At this point, Halyun and Cheonwoo were chuckling and giggling, not even trying to hide their laughter. Even Cheonhee was smiling as well (he felt bad laughing at Hyeon, but truly… that incident…. hahaha!)
“The ride hadn’t even started! Hahahaha!!!” Jin Cheonwoo burst into laughter, dodging quickly once Sama Hyeon moved to swat his arm.
“That was hilarious,” Yeo Halyun agreed. “The staff even asked if you had heart conditions, hahaha!”
“Speaking about that,” Cheonhee turned to Sama Hyeon, his doctor mode activated, “Are you sure you don’t have any existing heart conditions, Hyeon?”
Sama Hyeon, feeling the genuine concern of Cheonhee, bit his lips sheepishly.
“…I’m fine, Hyung, I really am…”
“But I reckon normally people wouldn’t react like that…” Cheonhee trailed off.
“Of course they wouldn’t!” Cheonwoo interrupted. “Sama Hyeon is just,” Cheonwoo snorted, “Special, hahahaha!!!”
“Urgh,” Sama Hyeon scoffed, hitting Cheonwoo’s arm and shooting him a glare.
“I’m dragging you to the Haunted House later,” Sama Hyeon declared, and Cheonwoo stuck out his tongue.
“As if! You’ll probably faint first at the entrance…”
“I won’t faint!” Sama Hyeon growled, and Cheonhee chuckled softly.
His dear, dear brothers…. They were always so chaotic, and Cheonhee loved it.
Today would truly be… exciting.
Once Cheonhee and his brothers arrived at the amusement park, they got out of the car, paid for the tickets (Sama Hyeon insisted on buying an express ticket so they wouldn’t have to wait in line — and also because he wanted to show off his money), and entered the park.
It was early in the morning, so thankfully there weren’t too many people. The four of them took a map of the park from an available stand and looked at the various rides that were displayed.
“We’re here,” Cheonwoo pointed out, “And based on the map, we should probably take this path here.”
“That one?” Cheonhee asked.
“Yeah, Hyung, if we take the other path, it'll lead us to the kids playground area, and most of the rides there are for kids under twelve…” Cheonwoo explained.
“Hang on a second,” Yeo Halyun interrupted.
“Don't you think we need to drop off Sama Hyeon at the kids area? You know, so he can have fun too…”
Sama Hyeon kicked Yeo Halyun’s calf, while Cheonwoo chortled at Halyun's words.
“Alright alright,” Cheonhee grabbed both Hyeon and Halyun's hands to stop them from throwing fists at each other. “I think we'll do as Cheonwoo says and follow that path…”
Since Jin Cheonhee had spoken, of course the other three agreed.
The first “section” of the amusement park had a medieval theme, and the guests had to enter through a castle-like entrance. Of course, before entering, lots of people decided to take selfies.
Cheonhee and his brothers were no exception.
“Everybody look at the camera,” Sama Hyeon said, grinning broadly. “Three, two, one, cheese~”
When the phone shuttered, Sama Hyeon quickly checked the picture and grinned. “It's perfect! Let's go!”
Heading inside the medieval section, Cheonhee looked at the decorations, shops, food stalls and rides in amazement. Everything here stayed true to the medieval theme! There were even ‘knights’ standing here and there, waving at people and posing heroically when people asked for photos.
Seeing Cheonhee’s gaze linger on the knights, Yeo Halyun frowned a little.
“Hyung, do you want to take pictures?” Halyun asked, and Cheonhee nodded.
“Aren’t they so cool? Hehehe…”
Cheonwoo rolled his eyes at that. “What’s so cool about those guys? If we wore armor, we’d probably look even more handsome!”
“Hold that thought,” Sama Hyeon’s eyes were shining and he pointed at a nearby shop.
“Look, they sell armor! They even have swords and shields!”
“Oh!” Cheonhee’s eyes brightened, and his brothers shared a look.
“Do you want to go there, Hyung?” Cheonwoo asked.
“Well…”
“Come on, don’t be shy,” Sama Hyeon tugged Cheonhee’s sleeve and led him inside the shop.
In contrast to the hot outdoors, the indoor shop was cool and quiet, calming the four of them.
Since he was here anyways, Cheonhee browsed through the various items, touching a few swords and shields, skimming through the various ‘gift bags’ and adorable knight figurines.
When he was done, though, Cheonhee ended up not choosing anything.
“Why didn’t you pick anything, Hyung?” Sama Hyeon’s face was incredulous. “Don’t you want to wear armor and pose, or buy a sword?”
“I could get you a custom-made sword, Hyung,” Halyun interjected, and Cheonhee shook his head.
“No… I just thought, aren’t all of these things obviously just to scam us? I mean, look at the prices! Rather than brows through this shops, I think it’s better if we just go out and enjoy the rides… I mean, isn’t that what we’re here for?”
“Well, that’s true…” Cheonwoo agreed.
Sama Hyeon gave his brothers a deep look and they understood immediately.
“Alright, Hyung,” Cheonwoo nodded cooperatively. “Let’s go enjoy those rides.”
“Yeah,” Halyun nodded, and the two of them walked out of the shop.
“What about you, Hyeon?” Cheonhee called out.
“You guys go ahead,” Sama Hyeon grinned. “I’m still looking around! Don’t worry, I’ll be there in a minute!”
“Alright,” Cheonhee nodded, not knowing that Sama Hyeon was buying all the things that Cheonhee had touched (or even glanced at) and asking the staff members to wrap it up.
Meanwhile, Cheonhee and the other two were waiting for their turn to ride the 「Spinning Teacup」, a classic ride. Thankfully, Sama Hyeon finished his business in the gift shop quickly and managed to ride in the same teacup as Cheonhee and co.
Cheonwoo was pleased to note that his Hyung couldn’t stop smiling throughout the ride, even if Yeo Halyun’s face turned pale and he looked like he wanted to gag. The ride kept spinning and spinning, making the four of them lean against each other, and Cheonwoo cheekily pushed Sama Hyeon to the other side, making him yell.
“You fucker—!”
A family of three that was sitting in the same teacup glared at Sama Hyeon, and the father tried to cover his child’s ears — although, looking at the child’s smirking face, it seemed like the child already knew a lot of bad words….
Sama Hyeon didn’t even bother to say sorry, the swaying of the teacup distracting him….
When the ride was finally over, Cheonhee got out on shaky legs, supported by Cheonwoo, and Yeo Halyun and Sama Hyeon trailed behind him. Yeo Halyun hit his head a few times, and Cheonhee’s face was immediately filled with concern.
“Halyun,” Cheonhee whispered, looking at Halyun’s face left and right.
“Are you okay?” Cheonhee asked, and Cheonwoo and Sama Hyeon frowned.
“Argh!” Sama Hyeon clutched his head, swaying from side to side dramatically. “I’m soo dizzy!” Sama Hyeon moaned, and Cheonhee’s head snapped towards him.
“Hyeon? Weren’t you fine just now?”
“I think… I think the symptoms are late…” Sama Hyeon sighed theatrically, and Yeo Halyun rolled his eyes.
“Your dizziness came late?” Cheonhee frowned. “How’s that possible—”
“Ouch…. Argh…” Sama Hyeon interrupted, clutching his head fervently and making Cheonhee worry.
Cheonwoo gave a bright smile and hit the back of Sama Hyeon’s head, making the latter whip his head furiously.
“What was that for?” Sama Hyeon snapped, and Cheonwoo grinned.
“I’m helping you get better, of course! Seeing how fast you turned your head, I think your dizziness is gone, right?”
Sama Hyeon glared at him, and Cheonhee’s face brightened.
“That’s good! I’m glad you’re feeling better! Come on,” Cheonhee pointed at another ride called 「Knight’s Joust」and jumped excitedly. “I want to try that one!”
“Alright, Hyung,” his brothers couldn’t help smiling at Cheonhee’s excitement.
As long as their Hyung was happy….
During the 「Knight’s Joust」, they had to fight their opponent in a makeshift joust, with horses and everything. Yeo Halyun and Sama Hyeon immediately signed up to fight each other, which left Cheonhee with Cheonwoo.
Yeo Halyun and Sama Hyeon’s fight was nothing short of deadly and chaotic — Halyun’s lance was aimed accurately at Sama Hyeon’s shield, and Sama Hyeon aimed his lance at Halyun’s helmet (thankfully there was a helmet, otherwise it would’ve just poked Halyun’s eye). After several rounds, both were still unwilling to lose, and they were even charging at each other while spitting curses.
In the end, neither of them won — the referee even had to give them both a red warning card due to their cursing and aggressive behavior. Poor Cheonhee shook his head and could only pretend he didn’t know those two, and Cheonwoo kept smirking by his side.
When it was Cheonhee and Cheonwoo’s turn, Cheonwoo’s ‘accidentally’ dropped his lance, and Cheonhee ended up winning.
After the joust, the four of them chose to ride the 「Knight’s Adventure: Interactive Dark Ride」, where guests would sit together and go through a dark tunnel, shooting arrows at cackling goblins. Cheonhee felt like he was carried the entire time, really, because Halyun, Cheonwoo, and Hyeon were all so good at shooting that he simply did nothing and just cheered them on.
Of course, Cheonhee’s cheers made his brothers’ blood boil and they passionately obliterated the poor ‘goblins’.
At the end of the ride, even the staff members looked at Cheonhee’s group with awe, and some were even clapping. Cheonhee couldn’t help feeling embarrassed — after all, during the entire ride he hadn’t done much….
“Nonsense, Hyung,” Sama Hyeon spoke up, “It’s all thanks to you that we won! Your words gave us the motivation we needed!”
“Plus, if you hadn’t cheered for us, I would’ve felt too tired to shoot, Hyung,” Cheonwoo agreed.
Yeo Halyun even nodded solemnly, leaving Cheonhee speechless.
The next ride was a typical chair swing ride, and, much to Cheonhee’s laughter and Halyun and Cheonwoo’s glee, Sama Hyeon was shrieking the entire time. Sama Hyeon’s voice was even louder than the children who were screaming and giggling at the top of their lungs.
At the end of the ride, Cheonhee even heard one of the staff members muttering that they had never heard someone scream that loud during this ride.
Cheonhee and his brothers skipped a few boring rides and headed straight towards the 「Dragon Roller Coaster」, which was filled with twists and turns and was very fast.
Seeing the large roller coaster track Sama Hyeon gave an awkward smile.
“You know what? I think I'll sit this one out and watch over your bags… you know, make sure none of our stuff gets stolen,” Sama Hyeon chuckled nervously, and Cheonwoo smirked.
“Afraid?” Yeo Halyun teased, and Sama Hyeon sneered.
“I'm not you,” he said, putting on a false bravado.
“Actually, I think you're right,” Cheonhee piped up, and all eyes turned towards him.
“It would be better if you take care of our bags, Hyeon, I'm worried that something might happen to you…” Cheonhee said seriously, and Sama Hyeon nodded gratefully.
“As expected, you understand me the most, Hyung,” Sama Hyeon grinned.
“Don't worry guys, I won't stay idle! I'll take photos of you!” Sama Hyeon promised.
“Alright!” Cheonhee, Halyun, and Cheonwoo headed towards the roller coaster and waited for a minute before getting on the ride. Cheonhee chose the front seat, much to Yeo Halyun's chagrin (his main concern was that Cheonhee would somehow get hurt), and Cheonhee sat in the middle, flanked by his brothers.
As the roller coaster started, Cheonhee gripped the handle, his stomach fluttering with anticipation. This was going to be so fun!!!
The ride was thrilling, and Cheonhee loved every second of it. His delighted giggling and occasional screams made his brothers grin. They knew how fond he was of roller coasters.
When the ride ended, Cheonwoo got off first and helped Cheonhee step out, before leading him outside the ride area to meet Sama Hyeon.
Sama Hyeon’s face was pale and his face was drenched in sweat, making Cheonhee look at him in worry.
“What's wrong?” Cheonwoo asked first, and Sama Hyeon held his chest.
“I-I was worried about you,” Sama Hyeon admitted, and Cheonhee let out a laugh in relief.
“Oh my… I thought it was something serious…” Cheonhee chuckled.
“It was serious!” Sama Hyeon protested. “I could hear your screams from down here, and I was worried…”
“Tsk, I thought you got robbed or something,” Yeo Halyun added, shooting Sama Hyeon a displeased look.
Cheonhee, on the other hand, smiled fondly and ruffled Sama Hyeon's hair.
“We're alright, Hyeon, don't worry.”
“Mhm..”
“…Where should we go next?” Cheonwoo spoke up, and the four of them looked at the map. They still had a lot of rides to try out!
The four of them explored the medieval themed area for a little while longer, stopping at a mini Knight Exhibit and taking photos at “The Round Table” — Cheonwoo grumbled about how the table was just that, a round table made of stone with nothing special…. Well, they did get some free cookies there so…. It wasn't a loss.
The four of them encountered “Excalibur”, where they took photos again, and then saw a large area filled with swords buried in stone. According to the staff member, most of the swords were stuck in the stone permanently, while a few swords would be able to be pulled out.
Each person who came to the theme park would only have one chance to pull a sword out of the rock hard stone, and if they failed, they couldn't try again. If they succeeded, though, they could bring the sword home.
With nothing to lose anyway, Cheonhee and his brothers tried to pull a random sword one by one. The only one who succeeded was Cheonwoo.
Dramatically, Cheonwoo knelt in front of Cheonhee, solemnly pledging his allegiance. Cheonwoo’s actions made people stare at him, and Cheonhee groaned as he tried to pull Cheonwoo up.
“What was that for…” Cheonhee grumbled, glaring when Cheonwoo smiled brightly.
“I was just pledging to be your knight, Hyung,” Cheonwoo stated as if that was the simplest thing in the world.
Cheonhee tried not to facepalm.
“Fine, fine… let's go. We still have some rides to try out…”
After pulling out the sword, though, Yep Halyun checked the time and noticed it was lunch time, so the four of them headed towards a medieval themed restaurant and ordered food.
The restaurant was decorated with tapestries and family crests, and the waiters and waitresses wore medieval garbs. When they finished eating, though, a problem arose.
“What are you doing?” Yeo Halyun asked, glaring at Sama Hyeon.
“Paying for the bill, of course,” Sama Hyeon scoffed as he reached for his credit card.
“Hang on a minute,” Cheonwoo spoke up. “You've paid the bill before, don't you think someone else should pay the bill?”
“Exactly, now both of you should just be quiet and let me pay the bill,” Yeo Halyun said, but Cheonwoo gripped his hand tightly.
“Who said you could pay the bill? Are you calling us poor or something? Obviously I should pay the bill this time…”
“You guys are fucking ridiculous,” Sama Hyeon groaned, moving to stand up, but Halyun pushed his shoulder down firmly.
“What the— I'm the richest here,” Sama Hyeon hissed, “Obviously I should pay the bill!”
“True,” Cheonwoo ceded, “But I'm the one who asked Hyung to come here… Naturally, I should be the one to pay the bill.”
“I'm the eldest,” Halyun growled, trying to free his hand from Cheonwoo's grip. “I should be the one—”
“No, you don't get to decide that,” Sama Hyeon countered.
“Hold on,” Cheonwoo frowned. “Where's Hyung?”
The other two looked around and stopped their fighting immediately.
“Fuck, where's Hyung?” Sama Hyeon asked, looking around the crowded restaurant anxiously.
“I see him!” Yeo Halyun yelled, pointing at the cashier.
“Fuck,” Cheonwoo cursed under his breath and the brothers bounded up to Cheonhee.
Unfortunately, they were too late, and Cheonhee grinned sweetly at them.
“Don't worry, guys, I've paid the bill,” Cheonhee declared, and his brothers groaned.
How could they let Hyung pay the bill?! A travesty ah!
After lunch, Cheonhee and his brothers moved on to the next section of the amusement park, a Sci-Fi themed area. The first ride they encountered was called 「Alien Invasion」, a drop tower kind of ride. Sama Hyeon opted to sit this one out (again), and so Cheonhee rode it with Halyun and Cheonwoo.
After the ride, Cheonhee’s eyes were gleaming and he wanted to do it again, so Halyun and Cheonwoo accompanied him as he rode the drop tower one more time.
…In the end, Cheonhee rode it about three times, and thanks to Sama Hyeon’s express pass, he didn’t have to wait long. The only person who was pale and trembling after each and every ride was Sama Hyeon, who felt like his heart was dropping each time the tower dropped down.
Cheonhee didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at Sama Hyeon’s expression, but Halyun and Cheonwoo smirked gleefully at his misfortune.
In response, when Sama Hyeon spotted a Haunted House (with a Sci-Fi theme, of course), he literally dragged Halyun and Cheonwoo inside, grinning at the confused staff member.
Cheonhee waved goodbye at his brothers and sat down on an available seat, laughing a little.
“Be nice to each other!” Cheonhee added as Sama Hyeon's figure disappeared into the Haunted House. Sama Hyeon gave him a thumbs up.
Cheonhee shook his head at his brothers’ antics. Hopefully they didn't run out screaming….
When the three of them exited the Haunted House, Yeo Halyun was gritting his teeth while Cheonwoo's face was pale. Sama Hyeon, though, looked like he had fun.
“Halyun, Cheonwoo,” Cheonhee greeted them, feeling guilty that he hadn't joined them inside the Haunted House.
“Hyung,” Cheonwoo replied.
“…Are you guys okay?” Cheonhee asked.
Sama Hyeon snorted.
“Of course they're okay! The ones who suffered are probably the actors in the Haunted House!” Sama Hyeon giggled.
“Eh?”
“Yeah…” Sama Hyeon explained, “An alien monster popped up and scared Halyun, and then he reflexively punched it, hahahaha!!!”
Cheonhee looked at Halyun in surprise.
“You punched him?” He asked.
“…Quite hard, too,” Halyun admitted.
“As for Cheonwoo,” Sama Hyeon chortled, “He was screaming the entire time, so much so that I think he scared the monsters in the Haunted House!” Sama Hyeon cackled.
“…Was it my fault?” Cheonwoo grumbled.
“Hehe,” Sama Hyeon grinned.
Next, Cheonhee and his brothers played the bumper cars, during which Cheonwoo “accidentally” bumped into Sama Hyeon again and again. Cheonhee playfully bumped into Halyun and Sama Hyeon as well, but each time, hey aced as if it was a great honor to be bumped by him….
“You have great aim, Hyung!”
“Hahaha, you got me again!”
“I didn't mean to bump you…”
“So what you're saying is, even without trying, you manage to bump us?”
“As expected, Hyung is the best!”
Cheonhee was speechless.
In any case, after that ride, Cheonhee and his brothers entered a science exhibit with futuristic tech and photo booths. It was both educational and fun (even though Yeo Halyun accidentally broke a machine when he bumped into it — the staff members made him pay a fine….).
When they exited the exhibit, Cheonhee saw that it was getting late. They had barely explored half of the amusement park, but it was dark already.
“We can come here another time, Hyung,” Cheonwoo decided, and Halyun and Hyeon nodded eagerly.
“He's right, Hyung.”
“But what about that express pass you bought?” Cheonhee asked worriedly.
Sama Hyeon scoffed. “It doesn't matter, Hyung, I can just buy it again.”
“We'd better go home,” Yeo Halyun added, taking in Cheonhee's tired face.
“…Alright.” In the end, Cheonhee agreed, and the four of them exited the park and piled into the car.
This time, Cheonwoo was steering, Cheonhee was sitting shotgun, and Hyeon and Halyun sat together in the back.
All four of them were pretty tired (it had been one whole day of playing, after all), but they were happy.
Along the way, Yeo Halyun spoke up.
“Hyeon, didn't you take pictures of us several times?”
“Yeah,” Sama Hyeon nodded.
“Can you send it to us?” Yeo Halyun asked, and Sama Hyeon hummed in reply.
“Sure, sure.”
Sama Hyeon fiddled with his phone and sent about 30 images to the group chat.
Yeo Halyun quickly opened his messages, downloading the images. Once he saw it, though, Yeo Halyun glared at Sama Hyeon icily.
“What?” Sama Hyeon asked, blinking innocently.
“In all of our group pictures,” Yeo Halyun said through gritted teeth, “Only you and Hyung can be seen. The rest of us are either not in the picture or blocked by something….”
“Oh my,” Sama Hyeon said in faux surprise. “How could that be?”
“Damn it! Did you do it on purpose?” Yeo Halyun roared.
“He definitely did it on purpose,” Cheonwoo chimed in, glaring at the road ahead of him.
“Maybe it was an accident…” Cheonhee suggested, giving Sama Hyeon the benefit of the doubt.
Yeo Halyun, though, saw through Sama Hyeon's victorious smirk and snarled.
“You fucker!” Yeo Halyun lunged at Sama Hyeon, punching him in the face.
“Halyun! Halyun!” Cheonhee screamed, turning around.
“Sama Hyeon! No murder, damn it!!” Cheonhee reached behind, trying to pull his two brothers apart.
“Halyun!” Cheonhee screamed, “We can always go back to the park another time, you know? Just the two of us!”
Hearing Cheonhee's words, Yeo Halyun calmed down, whereas Sama Hyeon gaped at Cheonhee.
“Hyung!” Sama Hyeon protested.
“Hyung…” Yeo Halyun was touched, and he let go of Sama Hyeon's shirt.
“You should go with me too, Hyung,” Cheonwoo spoke up, and Yeo Halyun threw him a murderous look.
“What?” Cheonwoo snorted at Halyun's glare. “You aren't the only one left out of the pictures, right?”
Yeo Halyun grumbled something under his breath. Cheonhee, relieved that his brothers weren't fighting anymore, let out a deep breath.
Thankfully, thankfully, crisis averted….
“Hyung, even if we can go together again some other time, the memories we made today are irreplaceable… Today, I'm definitely going to beat that punk to a pulp!” Yeo Halyun declared, reaching out to Sama Hyeon.
“Nooo!” Cheonhee yelled, as Sama Hyeon and Yeo Halyun engaged in a tussle.
Damn it. This was going to be a long journey.
When Cheonhee finally got home (thankfully no one died during the trip home), he plopped unto his couch, exhausted. It was one hell of a trip.
Fun, but also tiring.
As Cheonhee lay listlessly on the couch, his phone rang.
[Dad]
Seeing that it was Jaegal Lin, his adoptive father, Cheonhee quickly picked up the phone.
After greeting him and exchanging pleasantries, Jaegal Lin went straight to the point.
“Hee,” Jaegal's voice was overflowing with doting. “I heard a new amusement park opened up nearby, and I thought we could go for a father-son trip there.”
Cheonhee swallowed thickly. If his father found out that he had gone to that park with his brothers, he would be pissed.
It would be better not to mention it….
“That sounds great, Dad,” Cheonhee said cheerfully, unscrewing a bottle since he felt thirsty.
“Yeah,” Jaegal continued cheerfully. “And I thought, since this is the first time in a while that we're going on a trip, why should we wait for others?”
“Ah…” Cheonhee sighed and he drank water. His father had probably bought the Express Pass just like Sama Hyeon, so they could skip the line and enjoy the rides without waiting for too long.
“So after thinking for a while,” Jaegal spoke, “I decided to buy the amusement park.”
Cheonhee nearly spat out his drink, coughing and spluttering.
“Hee, are you okay?” Jaegal asked immediately, voice tinged with concern and worry.
“I'm f-fine,” Cheonhee coughed, wiping his mouth.
“Y-you bought the amusement park?” Cheonhee asked, hoping his ears had deceived him.
“Yep!” Jaegal answered proudly.
Oh god…. Cheonhee held his head in one hand.
His father was truly….
“I finalized the deal today,” Jaegal Lin continued, unaware of his son's shock. “Now I practically own the park. I even have some modifications in mind.”
Cheonhee dreaded the ‘modifications’ his father was planning.
“What do you think of creating a custom made roller coaster with your name on it?” Jaegal Lin asked excitedly. “I know you love roller coasters… or what about a statue of you and me, side by side?”
Cheonhee cried internally.
Dad… please… isn't that too much?!
“Don't worry, Hee, none of this is too much….” Jaegal assured, as if he heard Cheonhee's thoughts.
“But if you don't want to add anything to the park, I understand,” Jaegal added.
Cheonhee let out a sigh in relief.
“Thanks, Dad….”
“We can just build a different amusement park, just for you! We can even name it after you!” Jaegal declared. “Or, if you'd like, I could have people build a roller coaster and ferris wheel in my backyard… what do you think Hee?”
Cheonhee let out an internal scream.
