Chapter Text
Dante was glad they didn't have either The One Who Grips Faust or The One Who Shall Grip Sinclair. Both of them were a little scary. Seeing the two's Identities in the dispenser and seeing their crazed faces there was enough for Dante.
They looked at the Sinners. N Corp. Mittelhammer Don Quixote, N Corp. Mittelhammer Heathcliff, N Corp. Mittelhammer Rodion, N Corp. Mittelhammer Vergilius, G Corp. Manager Corporal Gregor and K Corp. Class 3 Excision Staff Hong Lu. The fight required them to use the N Corp. Identities but like always Dante kept at least one Identity that wasn't affiliated with those.
Mostly so they have someone to protect them in a scenario where the N Corp. Identities turn on Dante. It hasn't happened yet but better safe than sorry.
They noticed that Vergilius seemed distracted during the battle and let him approach when it ended. Amidst the N Corp Identities he seemed the most sane, other than Meursault. They glanced at Hong Lu who was nearby, just in case.
Dante wouldn't admit it openly but the somewhat messy look of Vergilius' shoulder length hair suited him.
They watch as Vergilius approaches them as he comes even closer. He's so close to them that they can feel his somewhat uneven breathing. They watch as he reaches out with his hand to their neck and he could so easily snap it but he just brushes his fingers against it, the cold metal of the armor gloves making them shiver.
Vergilius narrows his eyes and there's a barely there smirk on his lips. “Scared, Manager?” Dante shakes their head, their heart is pounding from a mix of fear and attraction. The man sighs. “It's not a mask, is it?” His question is whispered so nobody other than Dante hears. The fire crackles and Vergilius' eyes snap to it. He then looks at his allies who are nearby.
Vergilius looks back at Dante and with a sigh he pats their head.
Dante sighs and returns their attention to upcoming encounters.
