"Can I take a look at this?" Mafuyu asked, picking up Kanade's photo album.
"Oh... I haven't seen that in a while. Where did you find it?" Kanade asked, her hands gliding over the cover. It had been so long since she saw it.
"It was in my room, since it was your room before. Can I look at it?" Mafuyu asked, and Kanade nodded. They sat together on Kanade's bed and flipped through the pages. Kanade became a little sadded, looking at the pictures of her mother and father.
"What is this?" Mafuyu asked, stopping at one picture. Little Kanade seemed to be in some kind of small room covered in sheets and pillows.
"That's when my mom made me a pillow fort. You didn't do that when you were younger?" Kanade asked.
"I'd imagine my mother didn't want to do that because of the mess. You'd have to clean all of the sheets after that, remove all the dust from the pillows, rearrange the furniture back to it's original state... Wildly inconvinient." Constrast to Mafuyu's words, Kanade could see that little Mafuyu probably wanted a pillow fort at one point. Kanade became saddened, she wanted to give her girlfriend everything good she had experienced.
"Well, how about we make one right now? My sheets are old so we have to clean them anyway, and we can make it in the lounge, where we have plenty of room." Kanade suggested. Mafuyu seemed to hesitate for a while, before nodding. Kanade immediately stood up and took off her sheets, then walked to the other rooms to gather pillows. Mafuyu never saw Kanade move this quickly, while holding that much stuff.
They gathered at the lounge, placing two chairs at the ends and draping the sheets over them. "I'll be right back, Mafuyu." Kanade said and got inside the pillow fort by herself, arranging pillows and making it cozy. After a while, Kanade peeked her head through.
"Come inside, Mafuyu." Kanade smiled, and Mafuyu knelt inside. When she was inside, she felt her heart warm. The pillow fort was small but comfortable, pillows everywhere and Mafuyu's favorite purple bunny plushie taking place beside Kanade. Fairy lights were hung on the ceiling, shining through the pillow fort. Mafuyu also found small bunny apple slices on one of the chairs.
"Do you like it?" Kanade asked softly, handing Mafuyu a bunny apple slice. Instead of answering, Mafuyu kissed her gently.
"Thank you, I feel really warm. Like hearing one of your songs." Mafuyu said. Kanade smiled and leaned into Mafuyu's shoulder.
"If we could go back in time, I would meet you and make you a pillow fort." Kanade whispered.
"You did now, which is good enough." Mafuyu said, then fed Kanade a bunny apple slice.
"Kanade?"
"Hmm?"
"When we have children, let's make them a pillow fort."
"Haha, sure Mafuyu."
