Today could only have been described as horrific. For one, Fanny made no progress figuring out what One is up to, even with Tennis Ball's smartness. Then, she just so happened to get caught in a fight between Pencil and Book. So, of course, Pencil and Book started to use her as protection from the other's attack. She fell down the stairs, and she lost a bet, being forced to pay 20 dollars as a result. She was just absolutely miserable, and about to break down, so she went to her room just to be by herself. Ok, well, maybe it was her and Tree. So, she asked Tree to get her ice cream she bought just a few days ago, her favorite flavor. What could go wrong with that?
It had been around 5 minutes when Tree returned.
"You got my ice cream?" Fanny spat out, even if unintentionally.
Tree looked back concerned, "Fanny, how long ago did you buy this ice cream?"
"Couple of days ago," Fanny bit back, "Why?"
"Uh, the ice cream is out of date by a few months..." Tree answered, silently bracing himself for Fanny to yell.
Fanny looked shocked, "W- WHAT?!? YOU'RE JOKING, RIGHT??"
"I wish," Tree muttered, showing Fanny the bottom on the container, "But it's true."
Tree had expect Fanny to just start yelling, or unleash some form of angry fit. What he didn't expect was for Fanny to break down, right then and there. It started with a few tears, then a sob, and before Tree knew it, Fanny had fully broken down. He quickly wrapped her in a hug, comforting her. And the two stayed like that, Tree comforting Fanny, until the tears dried, Tree's presence and the long day lulling Fanny to sleep.
