It was dark, and even inside their protective bubbles, they could feel the heat from outside, the planet lit on dark flames that burnt everything on it. The four people inside the shield looked around, searching for the only creature that could survive in these conditions. It was Queen Marion's idea, a last ditch effort to save this planet, to try and cure the first and only survival of the dark curse that had fallen over it.
The only people who agreed to go along with her were her husband, King Oritel, her daughter, Bloom, and to everyone's surprise, her boyfriend, Valtor. It was a new development in their lives, and they were still getting used to him being on the good side, but even so, the Queen and Kind were grateful to him for taking care of their daughter, especially after the way things ended in her last relationship. He may have been a bad person, and did horrible things, but he was paying for it all, and proving everyday that Bloom made the right choice by giving him a second chance.
Finally, they found the creature they were looking for, Lord Darkar, in his rapine bird form, inside a cage made of the dark flames that surrounded them. Slowly getting close to him, they could see he was in clear pain, but, as soon as he saw them, he tried to attack, and, falling to do so, screamed:
“What are you doing here?!” trying to attack again, he continued “Are you here to try and kill me? Ha, good luck with that!”
“We are here to help you, and this place” said Valtor, as he was the one who knew more about it “We know how to fix this, if you will let us help”
“Ha! Don't make me laugh. It’s impossible to break the curse” Darkar, who now had a expression close to sadness, said in a mocking tone “How would you do it, if even the old mages could not”
“With two things they didn't have” Bloom now said, confident “ the power of sirenix, and your help”
“And what makes you little fairy think i would help you out?”
“Because you want to be free, both from here, and from the pain the curse causes” it was Queen Marion who spoke, with a face full of hope “It was my idea to come and help you, but if you don't want to, we can go way, and leave you for the eternity of your suffering”
They turned to leave, but before a step was taken, Darkar screamed in pain, and Bloom rushed to him, transforming on the way, and used her new powers to help soothe the pain. Valtor was right behind her, keeping the dark magic flames from her. Holding the now calm Darkar bird head, she looked him in the eyes and said:
“Please, let us help you, so your suffering will end, and the planet’s too”
“Alright, I will collaborate” he conceded “ What do I have to do?”
“Just open your mind and heart, and let us do the rest” At Bloom’s words, her parents came beside her and Valtor, and together, they slowly started to work on removing the old curse.
As the magic flowed from them, it went to Darkar, and slowly circled him, touching his head first, and going on from there, purifying his body, that, in turn, changed back to its original form, a beautiful, white and spotted black rapine bird, glorious and majestic.
From there, the magic flowed around them, slowly curing the planet, that went from dark and hot, to bright, and snow started falling, putting out the last of the flames. When they looked around, they could see small winter plants growing in the ground. Jumping up, Bloom hugged Valtor, and exclaimed:
“We did it!!!” looking at the now purified and beautiful planet, she could not help but be thankful for giving this a chance, and happy that her boyfriend had been able to help them do it.
“Indeed, you and your family were able to break the curse” the white bird said “ and for that, you have my eternal gratitude, and my blessings, as the bringer of winter, I, Tushar, grant you and your descendants with the power of the snow fenix” as that was said, a bright light came from the now named Tushar, and surrounded them, covering all their bodies and concentrating in their heads, forming ice crowns, and as soon as it settled, Tushar spoke again “ I also humbly ask for a favor, for you and your people’s help repopulating this planet, as i can’t do it alone”
The two couples looked at each other, and nodding at Tushar, agreed. Soon, they were on their way back to their kingdom, with Bloom updating her friends with what happened, and her parents making plans for the new planet they must rule now.
Tushar, for his part, went on to do as his title says, and bring the magic of winter to the planes, leaving behind an aurora trail.
