Work Text:

Jun has always been cool on his own, he never truly needed anyone else besides himself.

Hyper independent since he was a child.
He wanted everything and wasn’t willing to let others handle it for him.

Craving that familiar adrenaline rush every time he was about to make an important move, whether we were talking about an important exam or the steps to take before winning at the hockey table.

The boy strived for more, settling wasn’t even an option.
If he set his mind on something that was it, there was no way he wasn’t gonna get it one way or another.

Ambition burned under his skin and tickled everywhere until he saw nothing else but the end goal.
Putting his whole into every single thing that made his heart beat a little faster, taking and taking, without leaving anything behind but his mark.

He didn’t mind seeing his friends going on dates, nor hearing about their dating experiences.

Even because the problem wasn’t that nobody wanted him, better say vice versa.
The brunet never thought much about it, he had fun whenever he felt like it and didn’t whenever he didn’t feel like it.

Easy, simple, no need to overcomplicate things.
Especially when nobody was able to catch his eye or his mind.

His plate was already full and he didn’t need another person other than the one looking at him through the mirror.

Jun was cool on his own, that until he discovered the warmth of his arms.
Never in his life, he would’ve thought he could find home in someone else’s hold.

A sparkly sensation pervaded his entire body every time their skin brushed, even when it was by mistake. His heart skipped beat after beat until he swore he could feel himself going straight into cardiac arrest.

Jun was cool on his own until he found himself texting him about his studies and updating him daily about every step he was taking toward his acting career.
Asking for his opinions, craving his closeness, his support, and holding onto his hand whenever an important call was about to come in.

Until he tasted those cherry-flavored lips, so addicting that the government itself should’ve proclaimed them illegal.
The sweetest addiction he ever had, needing more and more like it was never going to be enough to satiate his hunger.

He started holding a space just for Dylan to come and go as he pleased, asking for anything in return, except for him to be.

The truth was that he felt safe.

Every time he felt his arms wrapping around him, pulling him closer, urging him to take a break and rest a little against his chest.

Every time he found the older one waiting for him outside of his university, whenever he was too anxious for an exam.

He simply knew.

Every time he came home and sighed in relief because he was already there, working on some tracks seated at their kitchen table.

Every time he hugged him a little closer when his insomnia started acting up. Staying up with him until they both ended up falling asleep after the third movie.

Jun always found his way to him, no matter what, the red string tightened around their wrists ended up pulling them back together.

He had never been faithful but when he met him he started understanding why people turned to greater figures. The boy would’ve done everything to guarantee the silver’s safety, to restrain anything bad from happening to him.

Even if not with him, he deserved all the good things that this world could offer and more.
He would’ve invented an entire vocabulary to describe how extraordinary he was, conquering the moon itself just to see him smile.

Loving him was like a breath of fresh air after you just opened the window on a spring day, where you can hear the birds singing and the sun tickling your skin.

The best thing that ever occurred to him.

Jun thought he had exceeded his luck for the next lifetimes with this one, and he couldn’t help but smile. Because he was the luckiest man on earth if you were to ask him.

The silver was the choice he kept making every day, no matter what, his pride was held in these fairy hands.

Because Jun was strong with everyone, a little stubborn, and kind of a jerk sometimes but with Dylan, with him everything changed.

Dylan wasn’t nobody.

Dylan, his Dylan, was who made him realize he had lived twenty-two years empty-handed. Because he filled every crack the minute he came into his life, coloring this blurry world he used to live in.

And when he looked into his eyes he saw everything.
There was no past, no future, just this eternal moment where everybody else disappeared.
It was only them.

He didn’t need anything else, with their fingers intertwined he already had the whole world wrapped around him.

Sometimes, when he touched the rapper, he still shook from the emotion of being able to be this close to him. His fingers trembling against his soft skin, asking himself if he was living a dream or if it was real.

Jun prayed that he could hold his hands until they turned into ashes, and even then, to meet again in every single lifetime for eternity.

Because he was cool on his own, but there was nothing he wanted more than him.
