Jimmy really hated lying to his friends.
Which was weird because he was basically doing that all the time. At least normally he lied through omission, this felt a little dirtier. He hoped they wouldn’t worry about him.
He had practically begged the others to wait, even just a day, but they were determined to move now. If he had a few more hours he could handle this without getting the others involved. Of course he’d been hesitant to use his powers -showing his godly side tended to encourage cultists, even when he used it to tell them to fuck off- but obviously he wasn’t going to let Hermes get hurt.

i liked the "folding into his vessel"-bit. reminds me of the unfolding and refolding of atoms in three body problem. loved the word choices, made it feel. interesting
