As sorrow slid in through the window he paused, eyes locked on the crying five year old in his bed. “Miyo, baby?” His voice changer had turned off and his hat was now placed onto a chair as he walked over to the child. The villain with ginger hair and mitch-matched brown and blue eyes sat down on the plush mattress beside the small child. The small girl with brown hair and big blue eyes looked up to meet his eyes, fat tears rolling down her cheeks as she sniffled, trying to stop the rivers of tears.
“Mama…” The child's voice shook before another sob shook her body violently, fresh tears rolling down her red cheeks. Sorrow's eyes twisted with anger, then softened as he moved closer to her on the bed before wrapping her in a warm and protective hug. He mumbled softly to her, whispering about how it will be okay and that she's safe now since he was here.
The ginger glanced at the time. Ryuunosuke and Gin were at sleepovers with their respective friends and Kyuusaku was at Kouyou’s for the weekend. So it was just him and Miyo for the afternoon and the rest of the day. “Baby, can you tell mama what's wrong?” Sorrow asked gently, running his fingers through the girl's short hair. Sorrow looked around his room, checking to see if anything was amiss.
Had someone broken in while he was on afternoon patrol?
Had she fallen and hurt herself when coming home?
Did something happen at school?
“T-took Wooly with me today…” The child's choked voice filled the villain's ears and his stomach twisted, something that happened when he knew where something was going. And it always ended up bad. “Teachie said I couldn't bring my Wooly home…”
Nakahara Chuuya, otherwise known as Sorrow, took a deep breath so he wouldn't leave the building to go beat the teacher up. Miyo had attachment issues after her being abandoned by her first family so the lamb plush he had gotten the girl was there for her when she needed it as a support item, not a toy. The school knew this. “Did you leave Wooly in the classroom, honey?” He asked gently.
She shook her head. “Went to park today…”
Chuuya’s eye twitched. So the teacher had taken a classroom of kids out of school without letting him (or likely any parent) know and forced his baby to leave her comfort item at the park? “Darling, can you tell mama which teacher it was?” Chuuya asked gently, continuing to run his fingers through her hair even though her crying had stopped. He knew how attached she was to the stuffed sheep and it broke his heart to see her so distressed.
The park excursion in itself could be considered illegal since there was no permission note or notice that they were even going out of the school, he had only just found out four hours after it happened.
What would the school have done if his child had gotten kidnapped?
What if she had gotten hurt?
What if she had an allergic reaction to something?
What if they had gotten caught in a hero/villain fight!?
Sorrow could barely contain his rage. What the teacher had done was illegal and the fact no one mentioned it pissed him off even more. However he sucked in a breath so he wouldn't lose it in front of his daughter.
“M-miss Blueberry…”
Chuuya raised a brow, thinking back to if he could remember a teacher at the school which regularly wore blue. Miyo gave teachers nicknames based on fruits since she couldn't remember their names. She normally gives them a fruit after a few days to see what they wore regularly. Plus it was easier to imagine a teacher wearing a blueberry outfit and removing students from the school than it was to imagine one wearing regular clothing.
His brain clicked. “Miss Suetaki?” He asked with a kind smile, however his stomach twisted, he felt the urge to vomit. Miss Suetaki, a woman in her late forties who had gotten divorced from her husband so she could pursue one of the single fathers to a kid in her class, him. She had gotten divorced to try and get Chuuya to fall in love with her.
Fun fact; Chuuya’s not into women.
And apparently him mentioning he had a male friend he was pursuing during the parent-teacher conference wasn't enough to hint at that.
Miyo nodded weakly, her body relaxed and limp against her fathers, mainly because his touch was soothing. Chuuya sighed gently, smiling down at the half asleep child. “Wanna go see if we can find Wooly at the park?”
Miyo nodded sleepily, eyes drooping closed.
Sorrow shrugged off his black overcoat and wrapped it around the child as he stood up and walked back over to the window, carrying the child with one arm as he picked up his hat and placed it on his head. At least no one will come towards them with him in his villain outfit.

Sorrow sighed, this was the third lap around the park and he still couldn't find Wooly. He rubbed his temples with his left hand while carrying around the child on his right hip, using his right arm to support her (and his power.) Sorrow knew he was strong but having extra weight on his side would have caused him to tip over, so he being the smart person he is decided to use his gravity manipulation so that wouldn't happen and wouldn't get in the way of searching for the stuffed sheep toy.
As they made their way around the park for the fourth time Sorrow smiled down at the child who had just woken up. “Good afternoon, darling…” He said gently, having to pretend that they didn't know each other even though he had been taking care of her for the past five years. “Your mama asked me to help you find your Wooly, could you tell me where it might be?”
Miyo, half awake and very confused, just pointed at the big tree in the middle of the park. “Was playing there.” Chuuya’s heart squeezed. Miyo had had issues saying certain words early on but from what he knew she had grown out of it however now in her sleepy state she had pronounced ‘there’ are ‘dare’ and it was just too cute for this grown man.
Chuuya nodded and slowly started to walk towards the tree, ignoring how the parents in the area quickly moved out of the way with their kids so he could go in a straight path to his location. “Sorrow.” The crackle of a voice changer echoed through the air. Sorrow sighed, already knowing who it was without seeing the owner of the face.
“Void, lovely of you to join us.” He said, rolling his eyes as his own voice changer clicked on. Chuuyas voice was deeper and more gruff now, his eyes cold behind his gemmed veil which hid his face. “Are you here to help look for stuffed sheep too?”
Void’s face twisted with confusion. He wasn't wearing his regular trench coat or clothes. He was just in jeans and a hoodie this time– a Sorrow hoodie. Void's fluffy brown hair was a mess, having parts stick out all over the place while he adjusted his mask to better suit his current attire. Honestly, Sorrow wouldn't have noticed him if he hadn't spoken with the voice changer.
“What do you want?” Sorrow asked, rolling his eyes and adjusting his grip on his child in case he had to fight.
“Why do you have a random child?”
Sorrow paused, right. He was in his villain clothes and no one knew he was the child's father. He took a deep breath, then sighed. Of course a country known top villain carrying around a child who clearly wasn't part of his crew would be considered wired, unsettling and dangerous. Mainly him being the danger to the child. “She’s paying me to help her.” He said simply, knowing that the only payment he would be getting is hugs.
Void raised a brow. “Yea, and what is she paying you in?”
Chuuya puffed out his chest and proudly announced; “Hugs.”
Void had to hold himself back from laughing. “So if I hugged you’d do something for me?”
“It only applies to children.” Sorrow’s veil flashed with a blinding red light, the gems having gotten caught in the sunlight. “Try it and I’ll remove your arms.”
Void huffed as he walked over. “You’re so rude.” The hero rolled his eyes and looked around. “What are you helping her with?”
“Her teacher made her leave her sheep behind on an unsanctioned execution to this park.” Chuuya almost felt like banging his head against a wall would be an easier way of explaining this to Void. “The teacher then made her leave her stuffed sheep somewhere in this park so I am helping her find it for five hugs.”
Void nodded thoroughly. “Five hugs? Quite the generous price, aren’t your services normally three-hundred-thousand?” The hero asked as he watched as Sorrow set the child down so he could climb the tree.
“A child won't have that kind of money so five hugs is more than enough.” Sorrow explained as he pulled himself up into the tree swiftly, he balanced on the branch (thanks to his gravity manipulation.) “Why, you want to hire me to find your stuffed animal too, Void?”
The brunette pouted. “No. If I needed help on that front I’d ask Beast.” The hero shrugged, watching as the veiled villain walked through the tree. “Are you sure you’re just up there looking for a toy sheep?”
Chuuya gripped a branch tightly, hearing it crack under his hold. “Yes, I’m sure.” He responded calmly, despite the slowly rising anger in his chest. “What else would I be doing in a tree , Void?”
“Acting your height?” Void shrugged, a small grin formed under his mask, which Sorrow couldn’t see.
The villain decided to just climb further up the tree to get away from the hero, however he also made sure to keep an eye on the small child below who was still wrapped in his jacket. As Chuuya looked around the branches, a small white sheep plush which was trapped on a branch, just out of his reach.
So, Chuuya deciding to walk on a tightrope thin branch to get the plush made sure to make himself as light as a feather so he could walk on the branch without falling to his death. He slowly reached out and carefully pulled the small plush into a hug, as if he was cradling a baby, then he jumped.
Sorrow landed on the ground lightly, not even a speck of dirt out of place, his veil didn't move either. He slowly crouched down and handed the child the plush. “Here you go my dear.”
Miyo teared up and wrapped her arms around him as tightly as she could. “Thank you!!”
Void pouted. “I want a hug too…”
The two Nakaharas turned their heads to him and frowned. “No.”
