Summary
Derek looks skittish for a second but then seems to decide something internally and reaches out, placing a hand on his wrist. His fingers curl nervously around Spencer’s wrist and Spencer is aware of his forearm breaking out in goosebumps. He leans a little closer on instinct, with what feels like every cell in his body focused on his singular point of contact with Derek, his warm palm curled around Spencer’s wrist, his fingers a brand on his skin. Spencer looks at him, cheeks flushed, chasing the feeling of Derek’s hands on his, like a sunflower helpless in the face of a warm summer day.
Derek doesn’t say anything for a long moment, and then, “I’m sorry I can’t remember.”
He’s shaking his head before Derek can continue. “You never have to apologize for that,” he counters, and they pretend his voice doesn’t crack.
