Chapter 1: Late Bloom, Loud Morning

Chapter Text

( RING , RING , RING !)

The Alarm clock rang right next to me as I groaned; this meant another day to continue with my students and classes, Again. I would lay in bed, my eyes opening slowly, turn my head to my nightstand, and look at my alarm clock, which was still ringing.

(RING , RING , RING!)

I watched it for a while and then decided to get up from my slumber and prepare for my classes. I sat up and slid my left hand on the switch to turn off my alarm clock and read the digitized numbers that were displayed on the clock; it was 4:45 AM. Waking up in the morning was such a drag;  I disliked waking up every day on the weekdays and doing the same thing. If I want a good job, then I must sacrifice some hours of sleep just to get to my class early and know my teachers well.

Waking up was such a hassle for me. Really, I have never been a morning person for my whole life, which has been 13 years now. I sorta wish my classes were like my peers who went to a different school, waking up at 8:25 AM and being able to take their sweet ole time. Sure, I can take my time to dress up and get to school, but I feel that I can't wake up late. My classes start around 7:10 AM, I just have to do my schedule.

I would stand up as my eyesight got blurry and dark. My knees bent as I would grip onto the nightstand. “I hate standing up fast…” I mumbled to myself as I would stand still for a little bit as my vision started to clear up. My grip loosened as I walked over to my closet to change from my sleeping gown. I opened my closet as I picked out the uniform for my school as my eyes scanning for another thing, looking for a brush I had stashed last night from a classmate. It wasn't really that messy compared to my mother’s closet. Mostly, all my clothing was folded and organized by size, ranging from Small to Large. I wasn’t really wearing Large clothing often, I just had spares just in case I were to outgrow one jacket, shirt, or anything else.

Mostly, I had the same color schemes when it came to my regular outfits: muted colors. Bright colors are an eyesore, and it can get me caught if I, hypothetically,  were to do something such as going to a Lawson at night. Mostly, I had hoodies, baggy pants, sweatshirts, and etcetera. Mostly, it was casual wear, excluding one suit I had just in case I were to have an internship. Which hasn’t happened yet…  I am hoping for one in the future, but I think it is because of my age. From what I recall, maybe I have to wait till I turn 18.

As I changed into my school uniform, I headed to the kitchen so I could make a quick meal for myself. I looked at the key hanger in the main hallway of my apartment to see that my mother’s keys for the house were taken already. Of course, she would be out early at that time. Really expected if you know that. My mother always goes out of the house at 4 AM, from what I have observed, and she comes back from “work” at 1 AM. If I am honest, I don't know what job she has that she has to work for like 20sh hours.? I really don't know.

The only thing I do know is that she comes home late and wakes up early. Maybe she sleeps while working? Or possibly, she has a secret boyfriend I never knew about!.. Eh… All of it is just plain assumptions to me. Simple as that. Anyways, I opened the freezer and grabbed the unthawed Chicken that was in the freezer, It felt like it was a pure stone. I grabbed the un-thawed chicken I placed it in a bowl, and waited for it to thaw. It does take a while. I could just do some daily grooming for myself before the chicken thaws.

So, I went to turn on the heater in my apartment, thinking maybe it could make it thaw a little bit faster? While I was going on my way to turn on the heater, I kept on hearing that manual clock on the wall ticking. It was now 4:58 AM. I sighed as I wondered if time was on my side or not. I have a perfect attendance record in school, perfect grades leaning to a pure 4.0, in a studying club to just kill off some time, and my conduct is really great. Mostly, everything to check off for this school year was perfect, excluding one time when I didn’t want to participate with my classmates because they just seemed idiotic.

They all behaved like they were all shot in the frontal lobe,  and it exited to the cerebellum. Metaphorically speaking, of course. It was just that they all didn't even have any source of common sense. They lacked it for sure. One thing I have noticed from my classmates is that they always try to bribe me when it comes to giving them the answers to homework assignments or quizzes. I would have agreed if they were asking for help when it came to studying/learning, but trying to take the shortcut? Yeah no. Life isn't always about shortcuts, you know.

as I walked over to my bathroom. I took out the brush I had stashed in my closet and started combing my hair as I took out the toothpaste and my toothbrush so I could brush my teeth afterwards. Brushed my teeth, and then I put everything where I found it and left to check the chicken to see if it had thawed.

The chicken was unthawed, great to notice. I then prepared to cook the meat and add it to some leftover pad Thai I had made last night and then went off to walk to my school.

I grabbed my backpack and laptop case as I went to the doorstep and took my keys for the apartment and then left, closing the door behind me. I walked alone as I saw some of my teachers on their way to the school.  I put my hands in my pockets as I walked over to my school, till I heard a voice calling my name.

“Good morning Ransuaian. What makes you walk to school this early?”

“Hmm?”

I woke up from the sudden voice that just called out my name as I looked back. behind me and realized that the voice was my Algebra 2 teacher, Miss Kano. She was dressed formally as she had a black blazer with a long black skirt, and her hair was tied in a messy bun. She looked like she had to spend at least 1 hour dressing, up from what I am assuming. I hadn’t really spoken to her this school year since I felt when it came to building acquaintanceships/relationships, she was already good with me since she was extremely polite and saw I did the best in class and put effort into it.

“Oh! Good morning, Kano-Sensei. I was just heading to school early so I could go and study in the library with some books I found!”

I spoke in a polite / friendly tone as I waved at her, stopping so I could walk beside her so the conversation wouldn’t be too awkward. It was 5:27 AM; maybe Kano-Sensei considered that early for me? I appreciate her concern, but this schedule was pretty normal for me since I have done it since I was 10 years old. Normally, on these walks to school had no one speaking to me. I would have preferred that, but I guess this is all alright for now.

“Ahhh, is that so? What subjects are you planning to study? Don’t you have, if I could speak about it. Have Perfect grades? What topics do you have to study about?”

Miss Kano asked me as I went silent for a few seconds; she did have a point on that matter. I could just say that it is for courses I am taking online, but she could push more into asking what course it is. I could just say it is for just fun- wait, who would even say studying is fun? Only a nerd would… I only studied to just kill time. Time was and is not on my side at the same time. As I was silent for a while, I would finally got an idea of how to respond to her question.

“No, it's ok to ask about it. I do have perfect grades, but I want to study some other topics like Website security for the future! I want to pursue a job in the IT field since it just seems genuinely interesting to me.”

I responded in a polite/stern tone as I saw my teacher’s face in shock. What was so shocking about me saying I want to pursue IT / something similar to security online? I only had an idea like that lingering in my mind because of the fact that my classmates or people around me just simply lacked the brain cells to comprehend whatever I normally say. Whenever someone does ask me to help them learn, they just don't get the concept as fast as me. Yeah, I maybe could be “gifted.” But I don't consider that, I can't just be the only person in this world to be at least logical to know what a gun is compared to a toy gun. Metaphorically speaking, once again.

“Oh? Really? I expected you to be like everyone else in your class.” She spoke as I responded right after, not a thought in my head.

“What job did they want to pursue?”

I asked as I looked at her face, watching her eyes move around. I am not “Everyone else” in this school, I acknowledged that for sure. I know that because of the fact that every time I were to say something right, I would get beaten up or it, They basically tried to humble me when THEY should’ve been humbled ever since they set step into this school. Not my fault that I am logical, and they are the chickens without a head running around.

“Most of your classmates or, well, the whole school wanted to pursue heroism since they all have a quirk.”

I let out a slight snicker as I then looked at her as I was just silent. Why would people want to pursue Heroism??? You’re gonna die in the field to just not even be remembered if you're not the best. Plus, with the intellect these people have, its embarrassing if they were to even be able to become a hero. Life is really all about reputation, like Mother said. I’ve always heard her late at night talking about how she is at the top of her job and gets the highest salary, She is hard working, I can at least admit. Being able to have a server in a storage room and being able to pay for it monthly is insane. I cleared my throat as I then spoke once more, responding to her.

“Sorry about the sudden immature snicker, but I am not like other people. Especially my classmates. I want to live comfortably and not always be in the line of enemy fire.”

I responded as she nodded, from what I am assuming she did agree with my point. It was just, who would even go out and do that? Only people who don't prioritize themself that's what.

...That is oddly sinister for you to say… Anyway, how come you don't want to be a hero as well? You did mention actual good points when it came to not becoming one, but do you not have a quirk or something? I never really saw you use it in class or in general.”

I went silent as Miss Kano spoke once again.

“I apologize if I brought up something impolite/immature. I won't bring it up again if that is fin-”

“It is fine. Don't worry about it.”

I cut her off as my voice turned into a stern/bold tone. I didn’t want to make my teacher feel like she was in the wrong. Besides, I don't want my relationship with her to be weak. Math isn’t my best subject, even if I studied all the materials.

“Sorry for cutting you off, Kano-Sensei. I just don't know if I have a quirk yet. You could say I don't have one just yet… I don't really need one to be good in life, I have my intellect to help me.”

I continued to speak in a stern manner and then changed it to a polite/playful tone. Maybe what I said at the end sounded a bit rude… “I have my intellect to help me.” I am just 13, so maybe my intellect isn’t the best now, but. I know I will improve over the years. I can adapt. That's final selection in the first place.

Plus. I don't want my teacher to feel bad for bringing up something I am not sure of yet. Sure, what if I don't have a quirk? That's fine! Really. I don't need a quirk to be living a comfortable life, I can figure it out myself. With or without a quirk. Who needs powers that could at least improve my or others' lives? I can just live normally and comfortably. The job I want to pursue in the future doesn't need a quirk- maybe a technology-based quirk, but it doesn't need it. Nor do I.

“Understood. I just didn’t expect you, out of everyone, to say having a quirk isn’t important.”

As she spoke, I had a puzzled look on my face. What do you mean, “didn’t expect?” I normally explain to some of my “classmates” that a quirk isn’t gonna land you in a good university or college…

“Really? If I may ask, why did you think I wouldn’t say having a quirk is important?” I asked her.

“It was because you just seemed like the boy who would say how sometimes people were born strong compared to others.”

Miss Kano spoke as Me and Her continued to walk beside each other, getting closer to the school with every step. Her response did mean something. Yes, I believed that the weak were born weak, but my own teacher, knowing I would say something like that? That feels like I just seem too harsh to others. Especially if I am trying to build up relationships.

“Oh. . .”  I spoke and then paused to collect my thoughts for a moment, then continued.

“Is that so?…”

  I asked my teacher.

“Yeah, you normally, from what I hear from your classmates, you always write about something related to ecology, it goes like “final section/survival of the fittest.” I understand your point here but.”

She paused as she locked her eyes onto mine, looking at me with a stern face as I had an awkward look on my face.

“There are people in this world who are born with weaknesses, and they can’t improve no matter what. Because of that, most of us in this society agree to help them. You should try reflecting on your “beliefs.

She spoke to me as I just looked at her, baffled in some sort of way.

She was speaking to me like I was some adult or something. I am still in junior high. I do understand people are born weak, but if they can’t improve well… I don’t see any of them getting a job and living till their 90s. It’s Kinda how an immune system works; you either improve by getting sick or just be lucky in life to be born with a good immune system.

I was just silent for a few seconds as we still continued to walk. I didn’t know how to respond after someone, not even someone. My own teacher is telling me what I have to fix about myself. I understand it if we are in school, but what is there to learn if you're not in class? And especially giving ME criticism on how to fix myself? I could consider it, but life has always been about final selection. You either die weak or live strong. After a while, I finally got the guts to respond to her.

“If that’s the case, Kano-Sensei. I’ll work on it and try to improve myself, changing those beliefs.” I responded to her.

“Good, I have high expectations for you since from what I saw when you were in my classes, you do seem like you want to change for the good. You always come to me after class when you don't understand a topic well. I have high hopes for you.” Miss Kano responded.

I let a slight smile appear on my face as my mind crossed to another topic.. Great to know that she has high expectations- another ounce of water in the bucket. Yay. She does know I can change for good, but I feel if I don’t stick to my beliefs, I won’t get anywhere. If I live comfortably while being weak, I won’t be able to climb up the ranks if I were to get a job in a company.

As we both continued to walk, we both arrived at the school, The gates were now opening since it turned 5:45 AM. The gate was pulled to the side by a faculty member, and it made a rattling noise as it moved. I waited for the gate to open fully as Miss Kano spoke to me one last time.

“Remember what we spoke about Ransuaian, alright?” Miss Kano spoke. “Got it, Kano-sensei. I’ll see you today when class starts!”

I spoke in a cheerful tone as I then waved and went off, starting my morning by studying in the library to kill some time before my actual courses/classes would start. As I entered the library, the smell of books was the only thing I could notice, it was refreshing in some sort. I grabbed my stuff as I went over to a bookshelf to grab a book and read it; possibly I could find one about IT. I need to at least be knowledgeable before I get an internship, which is, I think, 5 years? Even if it takes a while for me to hit that age, it’s better to be prepared instead of being clueless.

As I went around the library, taking some books to borrow and study, I met a peer of mine. She waved at me as I waved back at her, and a slight smile appeared on my face. Her name was Hinako. She had black to blue hair with a star shimmer as her hair was tied into a poneytail and wore narrow glasses. She possibly was the only girl out of all my classes who noticed my ideals and did stick with it, not to mention she has the common sense people lack.

The “slight” smile I originally had wasn’t slight anymore, She snickered as she walked over to me as she spoke.

“Hey, Sendryaku! If you're planning to do a 'poker face,’ at least don’t smile with your buck teeth!”

Hinako spoke as she let out a slight laugh as I rolled my eyes. At least she didn’t have to point out that my smile turned into a stupid one.

“Maybe I smiled on purpose. Ever thought about that?” I spoke to her as Hinako responded quickly, bringing her quote on quote, “rebuttal” into it.

“Well, sorry to break it to you, but you look like a beaver eating wood when you smile!”

Hinako spoke to me as she elbowed my shoulder playfully as I sighed silently. Every time she sees me act challant, she always finds a way to pick on me. Sure, I get that’s what you do to friends, but this early? It’s 6 AM. At least give me 15 minutes so I can finish reading.

“You don’t have to nit-pick my own appearance/looks when you don’t have an actual rebuttal, right?..”

I spoke back to her as she groaned on purpose, trying to get my attention to at least play along. It was pretty early for this, and I am not a morning person at all compared to her, being a ball that is radiating energy from the sun this early.

“You're no funnn… At least fall for the bait!”

Hinako remarked as she slapped my back playfully as I hit her back on her stomach. She had a smirk on her face as she spoke.

“Stop hitting me! You're assaulting me!”

She spoke as if she was being overdramatic. I had a confused look on my face as I responded, “I didn’t even assault you?? Where did you even get this?” I spoke in a confused tone as I then realized what she was doing. A frown appeared on my face as I then continued from what I was saying.

“Just say you’re attention starved, geez. Not my fault. I don’t fall for your tricks.” I responded in a playful/joking manner as she then spoke.

“But you hit me!!!” Hinako spoke as I then responded, having a slight smirk on my face.

“You hit me first, so I hit you back.”

“You did it to a girl!”

Equal rights equal fights.”

“Ok, buddy.”

She spoke in a disappointed tone as she was hoping for me to play along with her. Not my fault we were in a library, a school library, at 6:05 AM. I wasn’t even in the mood for something like this, but eh, life just throws whatever it can at you. It was now silent as I went to my table and dropped the books I picked so I could at least read them. Hinako followed alongside me as she picked up a book from the stack I chose. She snickered and pointed at the book with her other hand.

“You're such a nerd, what do you mean you're reading an encyclopedia of malware! Plus, aren’t you planning to be a scientist when you grow up?”

Hinako curiously asked me, “Originally, yes, I did want to become a biochemist but. Things took a turn.” I spoke to her as I saw her nose scrunched up and her eyebrow raised.

“Ok?? What do you mean by “things took a turn?” Were you on a side quest or something???” Hinako asked me as I crossed my arms. Well, she was right on one point but. Not really at the same time, she was right on the quote on quote “side-quest” part for sure, “I guess you could say that, it was just I got more interested in IT you know.”

I spoke as I saw Hinako just roll her eyes.

If you really don’t appreciate my answers, at least don’t show it in public. Don't act all shocked when someone decides to beat her up for being herself, sure I get that Hinako is “playing” along, but it’s too much, especially for such an early time. As I took the book from her hand, I would place it back on the desk as I was to start reading as she sat down beside me, peeping on what I was reading.

“I’m boreddd, I finished all my assignments.” She spoke.

“Then go read a book or something. I’m busy.”

I responded to her as I saw her get up from her chair and leave to find a book. Hinako is the type of person to get lost in a school, so I wouldn’t expect her to be lost trying to at least find a book. I sighed as I flipped the pages, one by one. It was at least one way to study. Just reading, that’s all. It was quiet for a while, I say 20ish minutes, till a sudden loud thud was heard. I stopped reading as my eyes lingered around to check what the noise was. I assumed it was nothing or someone possibly horsing around till I heard it again.

That’s when I stood up and closed my books to check what it was, as I made my way to the source of the noise I saw Hinako buried from a pile of books that fell from the bookshelf, she mumbled something which I didn’t hear so I proceeded to remark/asked her a question, “Need any help Hinako? You look like you're under a lot of stuff! Literally.” I joked around as she used her quirk to throw a book at my head, which landed on top and slammed onto the top of my head.

The book fell to the ground as I had my hand on my head, rubbing the spot on my head that got slammed by the falling book. I would then lean onto a bookshelf as I slowly slid down to the ground, still leaning as I winced in pain. My head throbbed in pain as I closed my eyes. “What the hell, Hinako, That was actually uncalled for!” I blurted out as my voice had an agitated tone. Hinako would still be buried under all those books that fell from the shelf as I still sat down, trying to recollect myself.

My mind was clogged and blurry, I couldn't really think of anything at that moment. All I felt was a constant static on the top of my head as I continued to rub it; my hair was in between my fingers as I repeatedly rubbed the top of my head. As I sat there in total silence, I heard a rustle from the book pile, it could be Hinako. I could care less, though, for what she had done, all because I said a simple comment. Great. Just great. “But she’s just a 13 year old!” We’re both 13, no excuses can be made.

A book fell from the pile as Hinako had her hand up, then she pushed the books away with her quirk as she had a sheepish look on her face till she saw that I was there and not some random classmate. Well, you could've at least helped me- OH, Sendryaku! Sorry, hah, I thought you were an annoying guy in my Language class… I heard Hinako speak in an apologetic tone as she went to help me out, lending a hand in front of me. I grabbed her hand to help myself get up as I was still rubbing my head as I tried to gather my thoughts before speaking.

“…Yeah. Alright got it. Just, please don’t do it again. I spoke to her as she rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly as she responded. Listen, I am so, so, so sorry about what I did. I actually thought you were someone else! On my mom. I let out a slight chuckle as I looked at Hinako as I spoke, Alright, whatever you say. I responded in a calm tone as I looked around the place, realizing Hinako had made a mess. As I stood there, Hinako spoke once more before planning to do something else, Should I clean up this place before staff finds out we made this mess? She spoke in a nervous tone as I sighed, Cleaning up will just take too long, let's just head out for now.I spoke as I put my hands in my pockets.

While I was planning to head out, Hinako called my name once more. It was possibly because she needed something from me again. “Sendryakuu!!!! Can you like get the book on that top shelf? My quirk can't reach from there, and I am NOT climbing up there while wearing a skirt!” She spoke as I had an unrefined look on my face. She was asking me, a person who has a killer headache and possibly a concussion from her? No! I wouldn’t do it at all. “Yeah, so like, why don't you do it? YOU caused me to get hurt in the head, and I feel like I am gonna collapse any moment now…” I spoke in an irritated tone as I crossed my arms. Why would I even do i-

I’ll give you 15k Yen.

WHAT!? Even for that much money, I wouldn't even do i-

“Deal.”

ughhhh… Why did I have to be that thirsty for money!? I already have a major sum of cash in my account, so why did I have to be greedy? But first. “Pay up first,” I asked her as I held my hand out, ready to feel the cold cash in my hands. As I waited, I saw her take out her wallet, and I couldn't help but chuckle at the sight. Oh, shut up!” She spoke as she opened her Hello Kitty wallet. I snickered loudly as a smile formed on my face. As Hinako gave me the cold cash on my hands. I had a slight smirk as I opened my wallet I would put the cash in, and then closed it. I put the wallet back onto my back pocket, zipping it.

As I went to go grab her book, I would just have a thought as I took my hands out of my pockets as I made a remark. “Imagine if I could grab the book from there like this.” I would mimic a grabbing motion of a rope as a black thread suddenly emerged from my skin, ripping the first layer of skin into a slit like wound as the thread exited from my derma. The thread flew across the room as I watched it wrap around the book. I had a shocked/puzzled look on my face as I then pulled the book back at me, a motion of pulling on a rope like as in tug of war. The book came accelerating fast towards me as it slammed onto my chest. I grunted as I then held the book and looked at Hinako. She had a shit-eating smile plastered all over her face as she was about to yell. I looked at her as I covered her mouth and placed my index finger on her lips. She started jumping up and down.

I gave Hinako her book as I would see the loose black thread hanging from my skin. I felt a sudden surge of nausea hit me as I realized the thread had come from inside my skin and exited. It felt weird and unnatural! Like, how did something like this just happen!? It was so stupid how I even found out, and what do you mean I can just form string out of nowhere, and it exited from my own body and caused harm!! I didn’t like it at all . It does seem super fun finding out that you finally have a quirk but. I just don't know how to feel!... I was just quiet, pondering on what was going on as I still heard Hinako squeal like a dying squirl. How exactly do I retract this “thing” dangling from my skin?...

“OH EMM GEE!!!!!! YOU GOT YOUR QUIRK!!!!! YESSS!!! CONGRATS!!!!” She spoke as she started jumping up and down with joy, and she then continued on. I so gotta tell my friends about this!” She spoke as she took out her phone. Hinako just can’t seem to keep stuff to herself, so I decided to just do something about it. I then grabbed her phone as the thread followed my movement, still dangling from my skin. “No. Not yet. Do not tell anyone about this just yet, please, Hinako.” I asked her in a pleading manner as I gave her phone back. As she nodded in understanding, I was at least grateful she would agree with what I said.

The thread continued to dangle from my skin as I then grinned awkwardly, asking her a question. “Speaking of quirk. How exactly do I remove this?...” I asked in an awkward tone as I would hold my arm out as the thread dangled visibly from my skin. She had a grin on her face as she had an idea. Hinako’s ideas were always like a coin flip : either the best of the best or a total disaster that would land us into a pile of trouble. She would hold my arm as she took a breath, “Okay, so like, hold on and give me a second oki?” Hinako reassured me. Before I was to question her, she would yank out the thread that was hanging from my skin. As I gasped, a spurt of blood flew out as my skin then mended itself shut. I took a breath as I took my hand from her grip and checked my hand, seeing if the skin was either spurting out blood or not. I had a confused look on my face as i saw the slit heal completely.

“How? How did it heal that fast?” I asked her in a confused/puzzled tone as I still held my left hand. “I don't know, that's how having a quirk works ya know.” She responded in a playful tone as I still had a puzzled look on my face. I really didn’t know what was even happening. Did my genes even change? I thought I never had a quirk until now. Just what the hell?? I never even knew something like this was gonna happen. I just assumed I was gonna be quirkless and call it a day! But what would my mom think about this? I know she is eager to find out, but I don't trust her yet. I rarely see her, and I just don't know who to tell about this. Just, why did something like this happen?

I just stood there just trying to process what had just happened. I mean, I do know that I can't do anything to prevent this from happening, but why now and why at this moment!? It seemed like a comedic moment to just suddenly get a quirk like this. As I was just there, thinking and trying to piece ideas on what just happened, I suddenly heard footsteps. I grabbed her hand as I then spoke, “Ok, we have to go now. Staff is here.” I spoke as I ran out of the school library as Hinako busted the doors open, and we both ran into the main hallway while we both continued, running as if a guy with a knife was going towards us as I then slipped. She ran back to grab my hand, but instead, she proceeded to drag me. I would slap her leg, signaling to let me go, as she responded with the following words, “Not my fault you fell! What if I let go and you were to get caught, huh?” She spoke in a lively tone as she still gripped onto my backpack.

I sighed as I responded to her, “Just let go of me, I know how to handle myself.” I assured her as she spoke once again, “Sure, your loss if you get caught.” She spoke as she let go of my bag. I slid to the ground. as I got myself up on my feet and started running. My legs went back and forth, continuing over and over as I was starting to lose my breath. I kept pace with her, though my stamina surely needed work… It may be my genetics at fault for being asthmatic, but I still think I can continue and catch her pace. As we continued to run, the bell dinged.

(DING!)

Perfect timing for us, really! We both shared the same home class, so that wouldn’t be an issue. Now, our goal was to run to class and make sure nothing even happened. We both continued to run as we went past most kids who were standing in the middle of the hallway,

“Excuse me, pardon me.”

I said courteously as we both ran to make a turn to our home class.

MOVE IT!! I gotta go real bad!”

Hinako said boldly as we both ran to make a turn to our home class.

I saw our home class number as I grabbed her bag, signaling that our classroom was over there. As she followed me, the clock ticked, and we only had a minute left on the clock. As we ran, I would open the door to the class and enter while walking in, acting like nothing happened, compared to Hinako, who ran and accidentally ran straight into a window inside the classroom. [THUD!]

“Oughhh, my nose!!!” She complained as I snickered. Multiple laughter was heard from the classroom. Seeing a person like Hinako do this was pretty much average; she was like the class clown of this class, but she didn’t even mean to become one in the first place. I found it funny when I said back in the hallway, “Act like nothing had happened,” and she proceeded to accidentally run into a window like a crash test dummy on site. As I sat down at my desk, the teacher of the class walked in. She placed her planning binder on the podium as everyone sat down. Still, some chatter was there till she got the class to shut up. I slipped my phone into my pocket as I took out my notebook and pencil, preparing to take notes for the current class. I sighed in relief, knowing that we weren’t caught from whatever Hinako did. The only good thing I got out of this was the fact that I had a quirk the whole time. This meant that I was a late bloomer, just like my other friend said.
