Summary
Shen Lang feels very guilty that his cousin Xue Dingfei sacrificed himself when they were children. Worse, he’s controlled by his mother and his uncle, but he’s determined to avoid rebellion and death, after his childhood.
State Preceptor Xie Wei is a breath of fresh air: he actually seems to like Shen Lang, he doesn’t seek political favours, and he has a refreshingly non-partisan approach.
